Description

The invention relates to a flail for rotary shredders, comprising an elongate base body with a pivot bearing, by means of which the flail is pivotally articulated to a rotor about a pivot axis parallel to the rotor axis, and with a support surface extending towards the free end of the base body; a cutting head having cutting edges projecting at opposite ends and supported on the support body and cutting head on the base body by complementary mating structures provided on the support surface and on the support surface; and detachable connecting means for connecting the base body and the cutting head, which are passed through the complementary structures and the support surface of the base body to said complementary structures out a shallow depression in which the complementary, the body-side surface of the cutting head is held.

Rotary shredders contain a rotating rotor. At this rotating rotor Schlegel are articulated. The flails are pivotable about axes that are parallel to the axis of rotation of the rotor. As the rotor rotates, the flails are pulled outward by the centrifugal force. They then hit a hammer like a material to be shredded or shredded during the circulation. Such shredders are used for example for shredding waste wood. If a piece of material can not be shredded immediately by a mallet, the flail pivotally mounted on the rotor may deflect after impact. In many Schlegeln a cutting edge is provided so that they seek to split the good to be shredded in the manner of a hatchet or hoe.

The flails are exposed to considerable stress during operation of the rotor shredder and subject to heavy wear. Usually, the Schlegel are wearing parts. It is known to form Schlegel in two parts. A basic body with considerable mass is pivotally mounted on the rotor with a pivot bearing. At this body, a cutting head is fixed with a cutting edge, which impinges on the material to be crushed. This cutting head or at least the cutting edge can be hardened. The cutting head is still subject to wear and is replaced from time to time. But it usually does not need to be replaced also the body. It is important, however, that the attachment of the cutting head takes place on the body so that it is able to absorb the strong impact loads and has no weak points. The impact forces should be transferred from the main body (with large mass) fully on the cutting head and thus on the material to be shredded. The reaction forces on impact with the material to be crushed should be absorbed by the body.

Es sind verschiedene Schlegel dieser Art bekannt. There are several flails of this kind known.

The US 2,267,865 shows an L-shaped flail for a rotary shredder, in which a first arm carries at its end a pivot bearing and a crushing body forms the second arm of the "L". This crushing body is generally cuboid and has on opposite side surfaces pairs of cutting edges. The cutting edges are parallel to the pivot axis of the L-shaped bracket. This block-like crushing body is bolted by a bolt to the first arm of the bowl. The bolt extends in a crossed manner to the cutting edges in the plane of symmetry between the side surfaces forming the cutting edges. The cutting edges are formed by almost 90 ° edges of the cuboid crushing body. On the first arm sits a rectangular projection on which the cuboid crushing body is mounted with a corresponding rectangular passage. Through a bore of the projection and the passage channel of the bolt is guided. In this arrangement, the front side surface of the cuboid crushing body is substantially perpendicular to the moving direction. When the rotor rotates, the comminuting body hammers in a hammer-like manner with its side surface forming the cutting edges onto the material to be comminuted.

The DE 29 43 456 A1 shows a two-piece hammer for rotary shredders. In this mallet, the cutting edges of the cutting head are aligned with the end faces of the body. The attachment of the cutting head to the continuous flat surface of the body is only with a screw.

The US 5,285,974 A discloses a two-piece mallet for a rotary shredder .. In this mallet a crushing body is screwed to a base body. The main body has a block-like main part with a pivot bearing and a protruding flat part of substantially smaller thickness. At this flat part of a crescent-shaped crushing body is screwed with two protruding cutting edges. This crushing body is vibration-isolated from the main body. The cutting edges of the crushing body extend in the direction of movement of the blade over the base of the flat part.

The disclosed U.S. patent application US 2004/0056129 A1 shows a two-piece hammer for shredders with a main body and a crushing or cutting head. The main body has a portion of greater thickness, which forms a pivot bearing at its end. With this pivot bearing, the mallet is pivotally mounted on a rotor. At this section of greater thickness is followed to the outside, ie away from the pivot axis, a portion of lesser thickness. This forms on its front side a substantially planar, approximately radially to the pivot axis extending support surface. Between the support surface and the surface of the portion of greater thickness, a step is formed with an inclined surface. On the support surface sits a cutting head of approximately trapezoidal cross-section. The cutting head forms cutting edges with the acute angles of the trapezoidal cross section. In this case, the cutting head sits with its rear surface corresponding to the narrower trapezoidal edge on the support surface. The cutting edges are provided on the surface facing away from the support surface. The radially outer cutting edge projects obliquely upwards and outwards beyond the end face of the main body. The other cutting edge is supported on the inclined surface of the step. The connection between the body and the cutting head is made once by conditioning the cutting head on the support surface and the inclined surface of the step and by a bolt. On the other hand, but on the support surface a truncated pyramidal projection is formed. The cutting head has a complementary, truncated pyramidal recess. The cutting head is placed with its recess on the projection. The bolt extends through recess and projection. Opposing side surfaces of the pyramid are aligned with the cutting edges.

In such an arrangement, very strong forces and moments must be transmitted via the cutting head to the base body when the cutting edge located far beyond the base body impinges with strong momentum on a part to be crushed. At the Schlegel after the US 2004/0056129 A1 is the cutting head just at the point where essentially the forces and moments are transmitted to the body, weakened by the truncated pyramidal recess and aligned with this recess for the head of the bolt. This can lead to breakage of the cutting head in continuous operation, which limits the life of the blade.

The JP 11076851 discloses a mallet comprising a base body with a cutting head fixed to the base body with a connecting screw. The cutting head has cutting edges and is provided with a projection which projects into a complementary recess in the main body. This approach and the recess serve to center the cutting body on the base body to bring the cutting body in the correct position. Forces and moments can be transmitted only to a very limited extent by the cutting head to the base body by such a connection.

The DE 201 20 185 U1 describes a racket for a hammer crusher. The racket consists of a base body and a releasably connected to the body shock body. The impactor is inserted in a rectangular recess in the body. With these clubs, however, it can easily happen that the edges wear out and the impactors can no longer easily be exchanged. When inserting it can also quickly lead to tilting. Especially at The hammer crushers are the impactors exposed to great forces and moments, so that it can lead to deformation of the Grundköpers.

The WO 02/055203 A1 discloses a projection on the base body, which is designed as a truncated pyramid. This truncated pyramid engages in a complementary depression of the cutting head. The cutting head itself is not sitting in a recess in the support surface of the body. The absorption of forces and moments on the body can only be limited.

The invention has for its object to provide a flail of the present type, which has an increased life and ensures better absorption of the forces acting on the cutting edge forces through the stable body.

Based on a hammer of the type mentioned this is achieved by the features of the independent claims 1 and 9. Accordingly, especially the recess in the support surface of the body is flat quadrilateral truncated pyramid, wherein two opposite side surfaces of the truncated pyramid extend in the longitudinal direction of the body and the other two opposite side surfaces are arranged parallel to the cutting edges; the complementary structures of a truncated pyramid-shaped depression in the support surface of the base body and a corresponding truncated pyramid-shaped projection of the cutting head is formed .

So it is not a recess provided in the cutting head, but the cutting head has a lug. For a weakening of the relatively thin cutting head is avoided. On the contrary: The cutting head is reinforced by the approach and thus additional material. The Ausnebroung complementary to the approach is provided in the solid body. The main body can and should be made solid. The body is subject to relatively little wear, so it does not need to be replaced or not often. The body should have a significant mass to increase the impact. The cutting head is usually made of harder material. He is at the cutting edge -independent of one Risk of breakage and subject to frequent replacement. The cutting head should therefore not contain unnecessarily much material and only ensure a clean power transmission to the body.

The mallet 10 has two interconnected parts, a main body 12 and a cutting head 14. The main body 12 is elongated. The main body has at one end a bore 16 for a pivot bearing. By means of this pivot bearing the flail-together with other similar flails-can be articulated on a rotor.

The base body 12 forms a support surface for the cutting head 14. The support surface is generally designated 18. How out Fig.1 and 4 can be seen, the support surface 18 then forms the bore 16 containing, thickened end portion of the body 12 a step with an inclined surface 20. Subsequently, the support surface 18 forms a flat, four-sided truncated pyramidal depression 22. The base of the truncated pyramid is rectangular with two Longitudinal sides 24,26 which extend in the longitudinal direction of the baffle 10 along the side surfaces of the base body 12 and two transverse sides 28 and 30 which extend across the entire width of the base body 12. The transverse side 28 forms the boundary between the inclined surface 20 and the Recess 22. The transverse side 30 forms substantially the outer, front edge of the base body 12. The shallow recess 22 forms four adjoining trapezoidal surfaces 32, 34, 36 and 38, of which the surfaces 32 and 34 along the base body 12 and the Surfaces 36 and 38 extend across the body 12. Subsequent to this shallow recess 22 and centrally to this, the support surface forms a steeper and deeper, also four-sided pyramidal recess 40. The base of the depression 40 defining truncated pyramid is square, the sides of the square to the longitudinal sides of the body 10 and transverse are aligned to these. The recess 40 has a flat bottom 42. Central to the bottom 42 through the base 12 through a bore 44 is provided. The front end of the base body 12 forms a rounded end face 46. The end face 46 jumps back relative to the axis 48 of the bore 16 of a front edge 50, ie the distance of the end face 46 of the axis 48 is steadily lower from front to back.

It is assumed here that the rotor (not shown) counterclockwise in Fig.1 circulates. The Schlegel moves so, if you Fig.1 viewed as a snapshot, from bottom to top in Fig.1 , Accordingly, here in Fig.1 upper surfaces as the front and the in Fig.1 lower surfaces referred to as rear surfaces. "Inside" means on the side of the pivot axis 48, "outside" means on the side of the free end of the bracket 10 or facing this end.

On the support surface 18 of the cutting head 14 is attached. The cutting head 14 is formed symmetrically to its longitudinal center plane 52 and to a plane 54 perpendicular thereto. The rear side of the cutting head 14 is substantially complementary to the support surface 22 of the base body. This back is in Figure 3 represented and generally designated 56.

60 an. The rear 56 of the cutting head 14 has two planar inclined surfaces 58 and 60 .. These oblique surfaces form the inner and outer end faces of the cutting head 14. The inclined surface 58 extends into Fig.1 from top left to bottom right. The inclined surface 60 extends symmetrically thereto from top right to bottom left in Fig.1 , Subsequent to the inclined surfaces 58 and 60 forms the back 56 of the Cutting head 14 a flat, four-sided truncated pyramidal projection 62 with two trapezoidal side surfaces 64 and 66 in the longitudinal direction of the bracket 10 and two trapezoidal side surfaces 68 and 70 transversely thereto. The side surfaces 68 and 70 are adjacent to the inclined surfaces 58 and 60, respectively. The adjacent shorter parallel sides 72, 74, 76, 78 of the trapeze join each other and form a square. This square is the base of a steeper and higher four-sided truncated pyramidal projection 80. Centrally through the projection 80 extends a bore 82 which is aligned in the mounted state with the bore 44 of the body and has the same diameter as this.

60 an. The front of the cutting head 14 (top in Fig.1 is off Fig.1 and 2 seen. The front side of the cutting head 14 has two symmetrical to the plane 54, rectangular, substantially planar surfaces 84 and 86. The sides of the surfaces 84 and 86 are aligned with the longitudinal and transverse directions of the flail. The planes of the planar surfaces 84 and 86 form an obtuse angle. The surfaces 84 and 86 thus rise away from the plane of symmetry towards the front to the end faces 58 and 60, respectively. Between the surfaces 84 and 86, a flat surface 88 is formed perpendicular to the axis 90 of the bores 44 and 82. The front of the cutting head 14 thus forms a flat, bounded by the surfaces 84, 88 and 86 channel. Centered in the central area 88, centered about the axis 90, is a hexagonal recess 92 which forms a shoulder 94 around the bore 82.

Through the holes 82 and 44, a bolt 96 extends with a hexagonal head 98. The head 98 is held in the recess 92 and sits on the shoulder 94 on. The diameter of the shaft 100 is slightly smaller than the inner diameter of the bores 82 and 44. As a result, an annular gap 102 is formed between the inner walls of the bores 82 and 44. The bolt 96 is tightened on the rear side of the bracket 10 by a nut 104. The nut 104 is seated in a recess 110 on the rear side of the main body 12.

The cutting head 14 is then supported on the support surface 22, that the end face 58 of the support body 14 rests against the inclined surface 20 of the base body and at this is supported, while the opposite end face 60 extends tangentially to the end face 46 of the base body 12 and practically adjoins this. The cutting head 14 forms a cutting edge 106 between the surface 86 and the end surface 60. This cutting edge protrudes forward and outwardly beyond the body.

The construction described works as follows:
The comminution of the material takes place essentially by the wedging action of the projecting cutting edge. The body lies in their "shadow" and is therefore practically not subject to wear. However, the reaction forces occurring in this comminution must be derived from the cutting edge to the base body. Due to the flat, four-sided truncated pyramidal recess 22 of the body 12 and the complementary survey 62 on the back of the cutting head 14 of the cutting head 14 on the entire support surface in both longitudinal and guided in the transverse direction on the base body 12. That's better than the one US 2004/0056129 A1 where the cutting head is supported on a plane surface of the base body. A positive retention takes place here -anders than in the aforementioned US 2004/0056129 A1 - By a truncated pyramidal projection 80 of the cutting head 14 which engages in a recess 40 of the base body. As a result, the cutting head is reinforced and not weakened. The bolt 96 is guided freely through the holes 82 and 44 and is therefore claimed only to train when contraction of the cutting head and body and not to shear.

If a cutting edge 106 is worn, the cutting head can be implemented by 180 ° after loosening the bolt 96 and continue to be used with the other cutting edge 108.
