Description

The present invention generally relates to automatic terminals for electrical connection.

It relates more particularly to an automatic terminal for connecting two electrical conductors to the same electrical potential, comprising a metal body intended to be connected to said electrical potential, delimiting a housing for receiving the two conducting cores of said electrical conductors, an access opening intended to to be traversed by said conductive cores to engage in said receiving housing, a partition wall which extends substantially perpendicularly to the plane of said access opening to separate in two parts said receiving housing and pressure means reported on said body, adapted to bear resiliently on either side of said partition on said conductive cores to keep them in contact with said body, said pressure means being arranged so that the passage of conductive cores of said electrical conductors to through the open The access method directly causes the elastic deformation of said pressure means.

Such a connection terminal is advantageously integrated in a modular electrical equipment, that is to say an apparatus intended to be disposed contiguously next to another modular electrical equipment on the same support.

This is the case, in particular, of certain electrical equipment such as terminal blocks, contactors, circuit breakers, remote switches or timers to be aligned on a rail within a protective envelope such as for example a cabinet, a cabinet or a housing.

It also relates to electrical equipment whose insulating housing houses such an automatic terminal connection.

ARRIERE-PLAN TECHNOLOGIQUEBACKGROUND

In the automatic terminals of the aforementioned type admitting two electrical conductors, the inner receiving housing must be large enough to accommodate the conductive cores of the electrical conductors. The access opening to the double receiving housing is accordingly wide enough to allow the introduction of said conductive cores side by side through said opening in said receiving housing.

To connect each electrical conductor to an automatic terminal of this type, the conductive core is introduced through its access opening. stripped of the electrical conductor so that the conductive core causes the elastic deformation of said pressure means of the terminal which then bear elastically on the conductive core to press against the metal body of the terminal.

This connection of the conductors being made "blind", said terminal comprises arrangements for guiding the conductor cores of the conductors towards the contact portion of said terminal and to prevent one of the conductors badly introduced into said terminal hinders the introduction of the other driver or induces a bad positioning of this other driver.

The incorrect positioning of a conductor in the automatic terminal causes poor electrical contact between the terminal and the conductive core of the driver, which then presents a risk of dangerous heating up to the firing of the driver.

Known arrangements for guiding conductors in a dual automatic terminal include partitions of insulating material reported in the housing housing said automatic terminal.

It is known to use three parallel partitions by automatic terminal, namely two side walls placed on two sides of the access opening to the receiving housing of the terminal and a central partition, the largest, separating into two parts said receiving housing of the terminal.

The establishment of the central insulating partition in the subset of electrical equipment that constitutes the dual automatic terminal is complex to achieve and prevents a so-called "stacking" of this subassembly.

Un autre type de borne automatique est connu du document EP 1 536 519 A .Moreover, documents are known in particular DE 101 34 417 and WO 2005/122335 , another type of automatic terminal in which the metal body and said pressure means adapted to press the conductive cores of the conductors against the body of the terminal are formed from forming to form a single piece. Another type of automatic terminal is known from the document EP 1 536 519 A .

Thus, in such a terminal, the installer must intervene positively on said pressure means, for example using the tip of a tool, to deform them in order to be able to introduce conductive cores conductors in the housing of reception of said terminal. Then the installer releases the deformation exerted on said pressure means so that they support against conductive cores introduced into said receiving housing to press and hold against the metal body of the terminal.

Here, there is no "blind" introduction of conductive cores conductors in said terminal, said pressure means not being arranged in such a way that it is conductive cores that cause, in passing openings access of the terminal, the elastic deformation of said pressure means. Consequently, there is no risk that a conductive core of a conductor is incorrectly inserted into the terminal and does not interfere with the introduction of the conducting core of the other conductor into said terminal.

OBJET DE L'INVENTIONOBJECT OF THE INVENTION

In order to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks of the state of the art, the present invention proposes an automatic terminal as defined in the introduction, wherein said partition wall is formed with said body to form with it a single piece.

According to a preferred characteristic of the automatic terminal according to the invention, said partition wall passes through said access opening to extend on either side thereof, on one side inside said housing. receiving and on the other side outside said receiving housing.

Thus, advantageously, in the automatic terminal according to the invention, said partition partition guides at best and in depth each conductor core of electrical conductor towards the contact portion of said terminal. This separation wall prevents cross positioning of one of said conductors in said terminal and thus avoids any bad electrical contact between a conductor and the terminal.

  • ladite cloison de séparation est rattachée par une patte à un bord latéral dudit corps ;
  • ladite cloison de séparation comprend une partie engagée dans une encoche prévue dans un bord délimitant ladite ouverture d'accès pour son maintien en position dans ledit logement de réception ;
  • ledit corps se présente sous la forme d'une lame métallique avec une partie arrière de connexion électrique et une partie avant à laquelle appartient ladite ouverture d'accès, rattachée à ladite partie arrière par une portion coudée, ledit logement de réception étant défini entre lesdites parties avant et arrière de la lame métallique ;

  • said partition wall comprises a portion engaged in a notch provided in an edge defining said access opening for its holding in position in said receiving housing;
  • said body is in the form of a metal blade with a rear part of electrical connection and a front part to which belongs said access opening, attached to said rear part by a bent portion, said receiving housing being defined between said front and rear portions of the metal blade;
  • said pressure means comprise a spring blade attached to the front face of said front portion of the metal blade constituting said body so as to hook on an edge of said access opening, said leaf spring being slotted over a portion of its length for dividing into two spring strips positioned on either side of said partition wall and whose free ends are adapted to bear on said conductive cores engaged through said access opening; and
  • said front portion of the metal blade constituting said body carries amounts bearing on said spring blade.

The invention also proposes an electrical apparatus comprising an insulating casing which houses an automatic terminal as mentioned above and which comprises two inner ducts, one end of which opens out on one side of said casing and of which another end emerges opposite said access opening of said automatic terminal on one side of said partition wall.

According to an advantageous characteristic of the electrical equipment according to the invention, there are provided on both lateral sides of said access opening of said automatic terminal two guide walls of insulating material extending parallel to said partition wall.

Preferably, the electrical equipment according to the invention is a modular apparatus whose housing consists of a stack of insulating partitions.

On the figure 1 there is shown a modular electrical equipment which comprises an insulating housing 10 in the form of a generally rectangular wafer.

This housing 10 has two parallel main lateral faces 17 which rise over the entire height of said housing, a front face 11, a rear face 12, an upper transverse face 13 and a lower transverse face 14 all perpendicular to said lateral main faces 17.

It has a width measured from one to the other of its two lateral main faces 17, equal to one or more times a base width, called "base module", which is of the order of 18 mm.

The housing 10 comprises conventionally in its rear face 12 a notch 12A for mounting the electrical equipment on a rail (not shown).

The front face 11 of the housing 10 parallel to the rear face 12, has in projecting, in its central zone, a front portion 11A through which said housing 10 is intended to emerge from a plastron (not shown), through a window of this plastron, when it is in place on a rail, for example in an electrical cabinet.

According to the preferred example shown in the figures, the housing 10 consists of a stack of a plurality of insulating partitions. The partitions have lateral main faces contiguous to each other, their slices forming by stacking the front, rear, transverse upper and lower transverse faces of said housing.

However according to another embodiment not shown, it can be provided that the housing consists of two semi-thick shells assembled by their edges in a median joint plane, each shell having a side main side of the housing.

As shown by figures 1 and 5 , the housing 10 houses automatic terminals 100 of electrical connection for serving the electrical equipment via electrical conductors from the network.

As shown more particularly by Figures 2 to 5 , each automatic terminal 100 is a dual terminal which allows the connection of two electrical conductors 1 to the same electrical potential.

It comprises a metal body 110 intended to be connected to said electrical potential, delimiting a receiving housing 101 of the two conductive cores 1B of said electrical conductors 1, and an access opening 114 intended to be traversed by said conductive cores 1 B for s' engage in said receiving housing 101.

The body 110 is here in the form of a metal blade cut and folded so as to form, on the one hand, a rear portion 111 of electrical connection to the electrical elements of said electrical equipment, and, on the other hand, a part before 112, to which belongs said access opening 114, attached to said rear portion 111 by a bent portion 113, said receiving housing 101 being defined between said front portions 112 and rear 111 of the metal blade.

Each automatic terminal 100 further comprises a partition wall 116 which extends substantially perpendicularly to the plane of said access opening 114 to separate in two parts said receiving housing 101.

The partition wall 116 has a certain height, so it extends beyond the thickness of said access opening 114 outside thereof.

According to an essential characteristic of each automatic terminal 100, said partition wall 116 is formed with said body 110 to form with it a single piece. It is therefore part of the metal blade that constitutes said body 110.

A portion 116A of the partition wall 116 extends from one side of the plane of the access opening 114 to the interior of said receiving housing 101 and another portion 116B of the partition wall 116 extends from the other side of the plane of the access opening 114 outside said receiving housing 101 towards the faces of the housing 10.

Ici, ladite cloison de séparation 116 est rattachée par une patte 115 à un bord latéral 111B de la partie arrière 111 dudit corps 110.Here, said partition wall 116 is attached by a lug 115 to a side edge 111B of the rear portion 111 of said body 110.

More particularly, this partition wall 116 is attached to the end of a portion of this tab 115 which extends cantilevered above the rear portion 111 of said body 110 so that said partition wall 116 shares in two equal parts the access opening 114.

The notch 117 whose side faces are close to the opposite side faces of the partition wall 116, maintains in position said partition wall 116 in the middle portion of the access opening 114 and the receiving housing 101 of the automatic terminal 100.

More particularly, said pressure means 120 attached to said body 110, are arranged on the body 110 so that when the conductive core stripped of an electrical conductor is introduced into the terminal through said access opening 114, it itself causes the elastic deformation of said pressure means 120 which then bear elastically on said conductive core to press against the metal body 110 of the terminal.

Here, said pressure means comprise a prestressed metal leaf spring 120 attached to the front face 112A of said front portion. 112 of the metal blade constituting said body 110 so as to hook on an edge 114B of said access opening 114.

The spring blade 120 here generally has the shape of a hairpin with two branches 121,122 connected by a bend.

The other branch 122 of the spring blade 120 is slotted longitudinally to divide into two spring strips 122A, 122B positioned on either side of said partition wall 116 and whose free ends are adapted to bear on said webs conductors 1B engaged through said access opening 114 (see figure 4 ) to press them against the edge 114A of the access opening 114.

In order to impart sufficient elasticity to said spring blades 122A, 122B of the spring blade 120, the slot 124, dividing in two longitudinal parts the branch 122, extends on the elbow connecting the two branches 121,122 of the leaf spring 120 (see figure 4 ).

Said front portion 112 of the metal blade constituting the body 110 of the automatic terminal 100 carries uprights 118 bearing on said spring blade 120 which is also supported on internal parts 3, 4 of the housing 10.

As shown by figures 1 and 5 , the insulating housing 10 comprises for each automatic terminal 100 two inner ducts 15, one end of which opens on one of the lower transverse faces 14 and upper 13 of said housing 10 and of which another end opens out facing the access opening 114 of said automatic terminal 100 on one side of said partition wall 116.

In addition, two guide walls (not shown) of insulating material extending parallel to said partition wall 116 are provided on both lateral sides of said access opening 114 of each automatic terminal 100.

Thus, the stripped end of each electrical conductor 1 introduced "blindly" into the housing 10 of the electrical equipment is guided by the wall of the inner conduit 15 and then by the partition wall 116 to which is associated a lateral guide wall .

The partition wall 116 guides in depth each conductor conductor core 1B to ensure its correct insertion into said access opening 114 and into the receiving housing 101 of the automatic terminal 100.

At the passage of the access opening 114 of the terminal, each conducting core 1B causes the elastic deflection of a leaf spring 122A, 122B of the leaf spring 120 which bears on said conductive core 1 B to block it in the housing receiving 101 of the terminal, bearing against its metal body 110, to establish the electrical connection between said terminal and said electrical conductor.

The partition wall 116 prevents mispositioning of a conductor in the automatic terminal 100, which avoids the risk of overheating thereof.

Finally, the integration of the partition wall within the body of the automatic terminal allows a mounting by stacking the housing of the electrical equipment.
