A device for uniting an auxiliary stack (11) and a main stack (12) in a feeder of a sheet-fed printing machine, with a main stack lifting device for the lifting of a main stack (12) stacked on a pallet, with an auxiliary stack carrying device (15) for the carrying of an auxiliary stack (11) and an auxiliary stack lifting device (16) for the lifting of the auxiliary stack carrying device (15) and thus of an auxiliary stack (11) positioned on the auxiliary stack carrying device (15), wherein for uniting an auxiliary stack and a main stack a top of the main stack is first movable via the main stack lifting device in the direction of the auxiliary stack carrying device acting on the bottom of the auxiliary stack and subsequently the auxiliary stack carrying device subject to the placement of the auxiliary stack on to the top of the main stack is removable from the region of the bottom of the auxiliary stack, wherein the auxiliary stack carrying device (15) comprises guide elements (19) in which carrying elements (20) are displaceably guided in such a manner that upon uniting of the auxiliary stack (11) and the main stack (12) the carrying elements (20) connected via the chain elements (21) on the one hand are removable in horizontal direction from the region of the bottom of the auxiliary stack (11) and following this are subsequently windable laterally next to the auxiliary stack (11) or main stack (12) or deflectable in vertical direction, characterized in that the carrying elements (20) are designed as rollers and connected via chain elements (21), in that the carrying elements (20) of the auxiliary stack carrying device (15) are connected via the chain elements (21) subject to the formation of a rope ladder-like carrying element chain, which can be inserted from a side between a pallet (14) and a bottom of an auxiliary stack (11) arranged on the pallet or in that the carrying elements (20) of the auxiliary stack carrying device (15) are connected via the chain elements (21) subject to the formation of two rope ladder-like carrying element chains which from two opposing sides can be inserted between a pallet (14) and a bottom of an auxiliary stack (11) arranged on the pallet, and in that the or each rope ladder-like carrying element chain at an end located at the front, with which said carrying element chain can be first inserted between the pallet (14) and the bottom of the auxiliary stack (11) arranged on the pallet, is assigned a wedge element (25).
  2. The device according to Claim 1, characterized in that the guide elements (19) of the auxiliary stack carrying device (15) are designed as chain guide rails, which are mounted on a carrying frame (18) of the auxiliary stack carrying device (15) surrounding the auxiliary stack (11), wherein lifting elements (17) of the auxiliary stack lifting device (16) act on the carrying frame (18) of the auxiliary stack carrying device (15).
  3. The device according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the respective wedge element (25) is designed comb-like.
  4. The device according to Claim 3, characterized in that webs (26) of the respective web element (25) can be inserted in grooves (29) of a pallet (14) and webs (28) of the pallet (14) in grooves (27) of the respective wedge element (25).
  5. The device according to Claim 3 or 4, characterized in that the respective wedge element (25) can be folded open.
