Abstract

 エンジンの回転数が低い場合、ばねによる低速ロックピンを低速ピン導入孔へ挿入する方向に付勢する力が、ウエイトに働く遠心力よりも大きくなる。それにより、低速ロックピンが低速ピン導入孔に挿入され、排気カムシャフトに対する吸気カムシャフトの位相が固定される。エンジンの回転数が高い場合、ウエイトに働く遠心力による高速ロックピンを高速ピン導入孔へ挿入する方向に付勢する力が、ばねによる高速ロックピンを高速ピン導入孔から引き抜く方向に付勢する力よりも大きくなる。それにより、高速ロックピンが高速ピン導入孔に挿入され、排気カムシャフトに対する吸気カムシャフトの位相が固定される。
