Description

The invention relates to an oil pan for an internal combustion engine according to the preamble of claim 1.

From the DE 10 2004 017 003 A1 an oil pan is known, which has a arranged in the region of a gear flat and arranged in the region of a crankcase of an internal combustion engine deep bottom portion. The oil pan is open to the crankcase and gearbox. The edge of this oil pan has a sealing area, through which the oil pan is sealed against the crankcase and the transmission.

DE 39 11 014 A1 describes a cylinder block with an oil pan and an insert, which is jammed in the sealing area between the oil pan and cylinder head.

Object of the present invention is to provide an oil pan with a particularly reliable and good seal against that housing part or those housing parts on which or to which the oil pan is attached.

This object is achieved by an oil pan having the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments are specified in subclaims. Other important features of the invention are set forth in the following description and / or shown in the drawing. The features in very different combinations for the invention may be essential, without being explicitly noted.

By inventively provided double-shell design of the oil pan at least at the sealing area, the rigidity of the oil pan is significantly increased. Thus, even in between the Verschraubungspunkten the oil pan with the crankcase or the transmission housing areas sufficient contact pressure exists, which is required for a reliable and durable seal. In addition, the oil pan without loss of rigidity at least partially flatter than previously executed, which allows an increase in space and, for example. In the case of a motor vehicle, ground clearance. The rigidity is again significantly increased by the oil pan comprises at least one arranged between opposite sealing portions web or pin, which additionally connects the stabilizing part with the bottom portion. This counteracts a strength-reducing bulging of the stabilization part and also of the bottom section, and also noise-causing vibrations of the stabilization part and of the bottom section are reduced.

In this case, the production is simplified if the sealing region has a shoulder to which the stabilizing part is attached.

A particularly favorable frictional connection between the stabilizing part and the bottom section is created when the sealing region has a groove into which the stabilizing part engages.

In principle, however, the stabilization part can also be attached to the sealing area in a blunt manner. In this case, no changes are required at the sealing area itself.

The sealing region can also be arranged on the stabilizing part, wherein, however, attention must then be paid to a good sealing by a corresponding connection of the stabilizing part to the bottom section.

The web and / or pin may be integrally formed on the stabilizing part or on the bottom portion. Thus, either the production of the stabilizing part or the bottom portion of the oil pan is simplified.

It is also advantageous if at least a portion of a web extends with respect to a longitudinal axis of the oil pan at an angle which is greater than zero and less than 90 °. This gives the bridge in addition to its connection function Ölführ- and reassurance. This is particularly effective when a plurality of webs are arranged interleaved with each other.

In the stabilizing part there may be oil calming passages extending from an upper side of the stabilizing part into a space between Stabilization and ground section lead. This gives the stabilizing part an additional oil calming function. Their effect is further improved if at least one oil calming channel runs in sections in a web, because this extends the oil calming channel.

A development of the oil sump according to the invention is that at least part of an oil suction pipe is integral with the stabilizing part. Thus, the stabilizing part receives another function, namely the holder or receiving a Ölsaugrohrs. This also has advantages in the manufacture of the oil pan, since the separate handling of at least this part of the Ölsaugrohrs deleted.

At least a part of an oil suction pipe can also run in a web. This also reduces the number of parts to be handled during assembly of the oil pan according to the invention.

For the connection of the stabilization part with the bottom portion, especially a welding or gluing in question. As a result, a permanent and solid connection is realized. However, it is also conceivable to connect the stabilizing part to the bottom section by means of a latching or snap-action or hooking connection. Such compounds can be realized quickly, thus simplifying the production of the oil sump according to the invention.

An exact positioning of the stabilizing part relative to the bottom portion is achieved when the connection of the stabilizing part with the bottom portion comprises a tongue and groove connection.

The rigidity of the stabilization part is increased if it has a zig-zag folding and / or waveform at least in sections. Also, the flow of oil can be influenced in a desired manner.

Between the stabilizing part and the bottom portion may be arranged a filling part which has a zig-zag fold and / or wave shape or is made of a porous material. Such a filling part likewise prevents or at least impedes buckling of the bottom section and / or the stabilizing part and thus increases the strength of the oil sump.

Common oil pans have a flat section and a deep section. In connection with the stabilizing part provided according to the invention, it is therefore proposed that this is fastened to the sealing region of the flat section and protrudes beyond the flat section beyond or into the deep section. Thus, by the stabilizing part, first of all, a flat section having only a low rigidity due to its flatness is stiffened, but at the same time the deep section is at least partially covered by the stabilizing part.

In this context, it is particularly advantageous if the area of the stabilizing part projecting beyond or into the deep section serves for holding at least one functional element, for example an oil suction pipe and / or an oil filter. Thus, the stabilizing part has an additional function, and it can be dispensed with a separate support of the Ölsaugrohrs and / or the oil filter. This facilitates handling during assembly in the oil pan and thus reduces the manufacturing costs.

It is particularly advantageous if the oil sump comprises an oil planer, which is formed at least in part by the stabilizing part. Thus, the stabilizing part fulfills a further additional function, so that it is possible to dispense with a corresponding separate part, which simplifies handling during assembly of the oil sump.

It is also proposed that the oil pan comprises an oil planer, which is at least partially formed by a arranged in the installed position in the region of the deep portion of the oil pan part, which is mounted in the installed position on the crankcase or a corresponding housing. This also serves to simplify the assembly of the oil pan according to the invention.

In a further development, it is proposed that a portion of an oil suction pipe and / or an oil filter is attached to or integrally formed on the part of the oil planer arranged in the region of the deep portion of the oil pan. The oil planer thus receives an additional function, namely the mounting of a Ölsaugrohrs or an oil filter. This eliminates parts to be handled separately, which makes the manufacture of the oil pan easier and cheaper.

An oil pan carries in FIG. 1 Overall, the reference numeral 10. It is screwed to a crankcase 12 of an internal combustion engine from below. For this she has her in FIG. 1 upper end via a sealing portion 14, with which it is sealed relative to the crankcase 12. The exact configuration of this sealing region 14 will be described below. In her in FIG. 1 left area, the oil pan 10 has a much greater depth than their in FIG. 1 right area. The in FIG. 1 left area of the oil pan 10 is therefore referred to as a lower floor portion 16, the right area as a flat bottom portion 18.

The oil pan 10 is in FIG. 2 shown in perspective. It can be seen on the sealing region 14, a plurality of eyelets 20; of which only one bears a reference numeral and over which the oil pan 10 is bolted to the crankcase 12. The lateral sealing areas are denoted by the indices a and b, an end sealing area by the index c. On the oil pan 10, a stabilizing part 22 is welded. This comprises a plurality of elongate openings 23, only one of which carries a reference numeral and by the dripping oil from the crankcase 12 in a space 24 located between the stabilizing member 22 and the eyelets 20 (see. FIG. 1 ) can get. As a result, the oil is calmed and defoamed. In that regard, the stabilizing part 22 forms an oil planer. In the area of the deep bottom portion 16 of the oil pan 10, an oil suction pipe 26 is arranged.

As seen from the sectional view of FIG. 3 As can be seen, the stabilizing member 22 is welded to a rim 28 on a shoulder 30 at the sealing region 14a (reference numeral 32). The opposite sealing region 14b is mirror-symmetrical, the end-side sealing region 14c is formed accordingly. In addition, a plurality of extending in the longitudinal direction of the oil pan 10 webs 34 are integrally formed on the flat bottom portion 18, the protruding edge is also welded to the stabilizing member 22. The corresponding welding area is also designated 32.

In this way, the stabilizing part 22 together with the flat bottom portion 18 forms a double shell 36 stiffening the sealing region 14a. This has a high bending stiffness, for example, around the in FIG. 2 dash-dot drawn section line III-III. As a result, especially the sealing area 14 is stiffened and created a better seal between the oil pan 10 and the crankcase 12.

The sealing area 14a, like the sealing areas 14b and 14c, consists of a circumferential groove 38 for a seal 40. The groove 38 is bounded by two groove walls 42 and 44 substantially perpendicular to the plane of the flat bottom portion 18.

Like from the FIGS. 1 and 2 can be seen, the stabilizing member 22 projects beyond the flat bottom portion 18 to over the deep bottom portion 16. In this area, the stabilizing member 22 is supported by additional webs 46 at the deep bottom portion 16.

An alternative embodiment of the oil pan 10 is off FIG. 4 out. Here, as below, it applies that such elements and regions which have equivalent functions to previously described elements and regions bear the same reference numerals and are not explained again in detail.

At the in FIG. 4 In the embodiment shown, the sealing area 14a is not arranged on the flat bottom portion 18 but on the stabilizing part 22. This is welded to the flat bottom portion 18 immediately below the sealing area 14a in FIG. In addition, at the in FIG. 4 As shown, the webs 34 are not formed on the flat bottom portion 18, but on the stabilizing part 22 and welded in 32 with the flat bottom portion 18.

Another alternative embodiment shows FIG. 5 : This is similar to that of FIG. 3 , wherein in the region of the weld 32 between stabilizing part 22 and flat bottom portion 18, a tongue and groove connection 48 is present.

At the in FIG. 6 shown alternative embodiment, instead of a welding between stabilizing part 22 and flat bottom portion 18 and webs 34 a hook connection 50 is present. Alternatively, but not shown, could also be provided a snap or snap connection.

At the in FIG. 7 shown alternative embodiment of an oil pan 10, the stabilizing member 22 has a waveform 52, in the embodiment according to FIG. 13 a zig-zag fold 54.

How out FIG. 8 it can be seen, an embodiment of an oil pan 10 is conceivable in which between the stabilizing member 22 and the flat bottom portion 18, a filling member 56 is arranged, which has a zig-zag folding. Also possible is a wave form of the filling part 56 and / or the production of the filling part 56 made of a porous material.

Another variant of an oil pan 10 is off FIG. 9 seen. This has similarities with the oil pan 10 of FIG. 4 on. To improve the sealing between the stabilizing part 22 and the flat bottom portion 18 in the sealing area 14a, two webs 58a and 58b facing the sealing area 14a on the stabilizing part 22 are integrally formed on the flat bottom portion 18, and the corresponding area on the sealing area 14a is designed to be complementary thereto. In this way, a kind of "labyrinth" created with different welding points 32a to d.

In the FIG. 10 illustrated oil pan 10 is characterized in that the edge 28 of the stabilizing member 22 is butt welded to the sealing portion 14a of the flat bottom portion 18.

In the FIG. 11 On the one hand, a groove 58 is provided on the side of the groove wall 42 facing the stabilizing part 22, into which the edge 28 of the stabilizing part 22 engages. On the other hand, in the stabilizing part 22 oil calming channels 60 are present, which lead from an upper side of the stabilizing part 22 into the space 24 between the stabilizing part 22 and the flat bottom portion 18. The oil calming channels 60 extend in sections with a corresponding branching 60a and 60b in the webs 34, which connect the stabilizing part 22 with the flat bottom portion 18.

A similar variant shows FIG. 12 In this, however, the webs 34 are obliquely executed, and the Ölruhigungskanäle 60 open into the space 24 immediately at the base of a respective web 34 on the stabilizing part 22. Oil passing through an oil calming channel 60 therefore flows first at the inclined web 34 to the flat bottom portion 18. The training aims in a similar direction FIG. 13 which has already been referred to above in connection with the zigzag folding 54 of the stabilizing part 22. Also in this stabilizing part 22 Ölruhigungskanäle 60 are present.

A further modified embodiment of an oil pan 10 is the in FIG. 14 shown: In this plan view, the webs 34 are drawn only by dashed lines. It can be seen that a portion 34a of the webs 34 with respect to a longitudinal axis 62 of the oil pan 10 extends at an angle 64 which is greater than 0 and less than 90 ° at approximately 45 °. The sections 34a are adjoined by sections 34b, which run parallel to the longitudinal axis 62. The slit-shaped openings 23 are arranged in the stabilizing part 22 parallel to the sections 34a "upstream" thereof. "Upstream" means that the flat bottom portion 18 has a slope that allows the oil to flow toward the deep bottom portion 16. In FIG. 15 a variant is shown in which the webs 34 are aligned in total at an angle 64 of approximately 45 ° to the longitudinal axis 62.

How out FIG. 16 can be seen, the webs 34 may also be arranged interleaved with each other, with circular openings 23 (provided only once with reference numerals) respectively upstream of a web 34th

In the embodiment of FIG. 2 the oil suction pipe 26 is arranged as a separate part in the deep bottom portion 16 of the oil pan 10. A variant not shown in the drawing for this purpose may consist in that the region of the stabilizing part 22 projecting beyond the deep bottom section 16 serves to hold the oil suction pipe 26. Another, also not shown variant could include a separate oil planer, which is attached directly to the crankcase 12 in the region of the deep bottom portion 16 and which serves to hold the Ölsaugrohrs 26. In this case, the oil suction pipe 26 may be formed integrally with such an oil planer.

According to the FIGS. 17 and 18 For example, at least a portion of the oil suction tube 26 may also be integral with the stabilizing portion 22 in the region of the flat bottom portion 18 by extending a portion of the oil suction tube 26 in a ridge 34.
