Description

The invention relates to a helmet for vehicle driver, and particularly for motorcycle drivers.

In this field, there are many helmets generally comprising a shell on which is articulated a visor, optionally completed by a protective portion of the lower area of the face of the user, is formed integrally with the shell, or so reported.

Most helmets known to date have no known means for filtering the air breathed by the user. However, document is known GB2186194A a helmet having a specific ventilation system in which a mask portion is secured to a portion of the chin protection helmet so as to place the mask at the mouth and nose of the user's face.

This design is unsuitable for any type of helmet, and the morphology of the driver of the vehicle.

The document FR-A-2700747 discloses a helmet having an inner fairing that can have a respiratory function. This fairing is either strictly integral with the pivoting movement of the visor relative to the shell, or it is unlocked from the visor so as to pivot relative to the shell along the same axis of rotation as the visor.

US Patent 3,833,935 shows a helmet whose visor has a complex lifting movement. In the lower part, the visor receives a mask.

The current techniques do not allow a good adaptation of the mask according to the morphology of the wearer because the mask follows the same freedom of movement as the entire visor.

The present invention overcomes all or part of these disadvantages and presents to achieve an improved helmet so as to be adaptable to the morphology of the driver. Another advantage of the invention is that it is applicable to a very wide panel of helmet design, including helmets type JET, or helmets type integral.

The invention allows, in an advantageous case, to adjust the relative position of the mask and the body of the visor and whatever the position of the visor relative to the hull. The assembly thus follows substantially the same lifting movement relative to the shell but the mask can be adjusted in position relative to the visor.

Other objects and advantages will become apparent from the following description, which presents a preferred embodiment of the invention.

The accompanying drawings are given by way of example and are not limiting of the invention. They represent only one embodiment of the invention and will make it easy to understand.

The Figures 1 to 4 illustrate a helmet according to the invention according to different successive positions of its components from an active position to an inactive open position.

The Figures 5 to 10 present different components of the helmet according to the invention.

The figure 5 presents a visor embodiment, the figure 6 an example of a usable respirator, the figure 7 a possibility of realization of a moving part in rotation, and the figure 8 an example of a helmet shell.

The Figures 9 and 10 are respectively a top view of the visor and the moving part in rotation.

The screen generally includes a transparent portion allowing the driver's vision.

As represented in Figures 1 to 4 , in the context of the invention, the screen 2 has a breathing mask 9 adapted to be positioned in front of the nose and the mouth of the driver. Such positioning is presented in figure 1 . At this level, we note that the mask 9 is perfectly applicable to the driver's face, whatever its morphology.

To further improve this adaptation, it is advantageous for the helmet to have means for adjusting the position of the breathing mask according to the proportions of the driver's face.

As shown, adjustment means are formed by producing a screen 2 in two parts, namely a rotatably mounted portion 4 relative to the shell 1 about the axis 8, and a portion on which is mounted the respiratory mask 9. In the example shown, this second part is in the form of a visor 3 in the lower zone of which is fixed the mask 9. The visor 3 is hinged relative to the rotatably mounted portion 4 via a pivot link 7 illustrated in FIGS. Figures 1 to 4 .

More specifically, the rotatably mounted portion 4 advantageously has and with reference to Figures 7 and 10 , two flanges 5 each adapted to be positioned on a side of the shell 1 and a strip 6 adapted to connect the two flanges by the front of the shell, and formed substantially at the upper edge of the visor 3.

The pivot 7 may be constituted by means of a hinge carried partly by the strip 6 towards its center, and by the upper edge of the visor 3.

It is easily understood that the screen 2 thus formed in two articulated parts allows a refined adjustment of the position of the breathing mask 9 located towards the lower zone of the visor 3. In particular, it is easy to adjust the inclination of the visor 3 relatively to the hull 1. Two different settings, according to the desired adaptation to the facial morphology of the driver, are presented to the Figures 1 and 2 .

A cet effet, une butée angulaire peut être formée par l'intermédiaire de la liaison en rotation de la partie 4 relativement à la coque 1.Advantageously, it limits the possible angular displacement of the visor 3 relative to the rotatably mounted portion 4. For this purpose, an angular stop may be formed via the rotational connection of the portion 4 relative to the shell 1.

The other limit of the angular sector of the deflection of the visor 3 is obtained by a stop 11 integral with the part 4 cooperating with a finger 12 formed in correspondence on the visor 3. Advantageously, such a stop system is formed at each level. flanks of the shell 1 symmetrically.

According to a preferred embodiment, in replacement or in addition to the adjustment means described above, it is possible to produce a rotational connection between the mask 9 and the visor 3. In this way, the position of the mask can be further refined.

Other adjustment means are conceivable without departing from the scope of the invention, in particular by an additional translational mobility of the mask 9 relative to its mounting area on the screen 2.

So, on the hull 1 illustrated in figure 8 Part 4 is attached and the rotating joints are fixed at the axis 8. These may be bearings of common design. The visor 3 is then attached to the assembly thus formed by inserting the thickness of the lateral portions 13 of the visor 3 between the part 4 and the outer surface of the sides of the shell 1. Towards the middle part of its upper side, the visor 3 is pivotally mounted on the part 4 via the link 7.

The breathing mask is mounted by the inner face of the visor 3 preferably by providing a rotatable connection. However, the mask can also be simply glued, clipped or screwed on the visor. The The mask will generally be located at the bottom of the screen, rather protruding inwards so as to be applied to the wearer's mouth and nose.

The removable mounting of the filter element can be achieved by snaps or a VELCRO type system (registered trademark).

To remove the helmet, the user has only to grasp the visor or button protruding outside the link 10 between the mask 9 and the visor 3 to perform a lift. The lifting begins with a pivot of the visor 3 relative to the part 4 and, when the stop is reached, by a rotation of the assembly about the axis 8. These phases are respectively illustrated in FIG. Figures 3 and 4 to reach a fully raised position where the respirator is completely clear of the driver's face.
