Claims (16)

  1. Assembly for making a railing or similar structure, said assembly comprising on the one hand at least one panel (2), possibly pre-mounted and constituted by an upper profiled element (3) forming a hand rail or top rail and a lower profiled element (4) forming a bottom rail and by one or more filling element(s) (5) mounted between the two aforementioned parallel profiled elements (3, 4) and on the other hand at least two upright or post structures (6) intended to be assembled with the opposing ends of said panel or two adjacent panels and to join said panel(s) to the ground,
    each panel (2) being intended to be assembled with two upright or post structures (6) by double encasing of the profiled elements (3 and 4) directly in corresponding respectively adapted cut-outs or grooves (7 and 8) of each post structure (6), whereby this is possibly after adequate cutting to length of the panel(s) (2) in question by cutting the two profiled elements (3 and 4), the structures (6) and the profiled elements (3, 4) being made at least partially from solid wood,
    said assembly characterised in that the upright or post structures (6) each comprise at least one first cut-out or groove (7) having a cross-section corresponding to that of the profiled element (3) forming a hand rail or top rail and at least a second cut-out or groove (8) having a cross-section corresponding to that of the profiled element (4) forming a bottom rail, and
    in that each post or upright structure (6) is formed by the longitudinal assembly of at least two upright sections or half-posts (13, 14, 15), of which at least one comprises a first and a second cut-out (7, 8).
  2. Assembly according to claim 1, characterised in that it also comprises elements (9) for support and fixing to the ground, each in the form of an element comprising on the one hand a base (10) and on the other hand either an assembly lug (11) or plate (11') intended to be received in the lower part of an upright or post structure (6) or two holding and fixing plates (11") intended to receive between them the lower section of an upright or post structure (6), the base (10) being possibly provided on its face opposing the assembly lug (11) or plate (11') with an anchoring finger (12).
  3. Assembly according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the two profiled elements (3 and 4) of the railing panel (2) have identical cross-sections, the grooves or cut-outs (7 and 8) of the upright or post structures (6) also being identical.
  4. Assembly according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the two profiled elements (3 and 4) of the railing panel (2) have different cross-sections in the same way as the grooves or cut-outs (7 and 8) of the upright or post structures (6).
  5. Assembly according to claim 4, characterised in that the second groove or cut-out (8) has a cross-section in the form of an oblong hole and the first groove or cut-out (7) has in its cross-section a form resulting from the juxtaposition of two oblong holes along one of their longitudinal sides.
  6. Assembly according to claim 1, characterised in that each post structure (6) forming an intermediate post between two adjacent and aligned panels of the railing (2) is constituted by two identical half-posts (13), each provided with a first (7) and a second (8) cut-out, crossing or not crossing, said half-posts (13) being assembled back to back, for example by screw, nut and washer sets (16, 16') with alignment of the cut-outs (7, 8) of the same type.
  7. Assembly according to claim 6, characterised in that each post structure (6) forming an end post is constituted by two half-posts (13 and 14) of identical exterior forms, of which one (13) is provided with a first and a second cut-out (7 and 8), and of which the other (14) does not comprise a first or second cut-out, said half-posts (13 and 14) being assembled back to back, for example by screw, nut and washer sets (16, 16').
  8. Assembly according to claim 7, characterised in that each post structure (6) forming an angular post between two perpendicular railing panels (2) is constituted by an end post (13, 14), preassembled with one of the railing panels (2) and on which a half-post (15) is fixed laterally, for example through the intermediary of screw, nut and washer sets (16, 16') or wood screws, said half-post (15) being provided with a first and a second cut-out (7 and 8) and mounted on the other railing panel (2) converging at the angle, said latter half-post (15) lacking its upper part.
  9. Assembly according to claim 7, characterised in that each post structure (6) forming an angular post between two railing panels (2) is constituted by the two end posts (13, 14) of the two railing panels (2) converging at said angle and by an assembly strip (17) connecting between them the two half-posts (14) not comprising a cut-out of said two end posts (13, 14), by positioning them mutually at a given angle, a decorative cover plate (18) being possibly provided externally on said angular post structure (6) in order to hide said assembly strip (17) and close the open space between the two end posts (13, 14).
  10. Assembly according to any one of the claims 1 to 9, characterised in that it comprises one or more elongated elements (19) for an upper cover, intended to be fixed on the upper sections of the post structures (6) in order to form a continuous hand rail.
  11. Assembly according to any one of the claims 6 to 10 insofar as they depend upon claim 2, characterised in that, in each end post structure (13, 14) or intermediate post structure (13, 14), the half-posts (13 and 13; 13 and 14) assembled back to back each comprise, at the level of their contacting faces and in proximity to their lower ends, a reinforcement (20) which forms, through cooperation with the reinforcement of the other half-post, an adapted receiving housing of the assembly plate (11') of a support and fixing element (9), the integral connection of the latter with said half-posts (13, 14) being realised by means of screw, nut and washer sets (16, 16') crossing said half-posts and said plate at the level of corresponding openings.
  12. Assembly according to any one of the claims 1 to 11, characterised in that the post structures (6) have a substantially square or rectangular cross-section and in that the element(s) constituting said post structures (6) as well as the upper profiled elements (3) and lower profiled elements (4) at least of the railing panels (2), possibly preassembled, are composed of solid wood possibly coated with a protective layer or with rot-proof treatment.
  13. Assembly according to any one of claims 1 to 12, characterised in that the panel or each panel comprises a pre-mounted or pre-assembled panel (2).
  14. Assembly according to claim 13, characterised in that the panel or each panel (2) is pre-mounted with its parts (13, 14, 15) of posts or upright structures (6).
  15. Assembly according to any one of the claims 1 to 12, characterised in that the, or each, panel (2) consists of a set of separate elements to be assembled including the upper and lower profiled elements (3 and 4) and the filling element(s) (5).
  16. Railing for terrace or similar, characterised in that it is formed by an assembly of constituent elements (2, 6, 9, 19), forming part of an assembly according to any one of the claims 1 to 15.
