Claims (4)

  1. A rotary switch for a motor vehicle, comprising a central part (20) and an outer part (28) and further a detent mechanism including two radially outwardly prestressed detent pins (26), coupled to the central part, and an inner contour (34) which is formed in the outer part and defines detent sites for the detent pins (26), characterized in that the central part is stationary and the outer part is rotatable, a control part (44) being coupled to the outer part and transferring the rotary movement of the outer part directly into a contact unit (16), and in that the detent pins (26) are arranged at the two ends of a helical spring (24) which is received in a diametrical guide (22).
  2. The rotary switch according to claim 1, characterized by an upper housing part (12) having the central part, which is a housing ring part (20) in which the diametrical guide (22) is formed.
  3. The rotary switch according to claim 2, characterized in that the detent pins (26) project radially from the housing ring part (20).
  4. The rotary switch according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that the inner contour (34) is formed in an undulating manner in the outer part, which is an outer ring (28), and has end stops (38) which limit the rotation of the outer ring (28).
