Cable connector according to claim 1 or 2, in which the upper part of the socket is in turn formed from two parts which can be connected to one another, namely from a cover part and an intermediate part underneath, the non-stripped wires of the round cable to be connected to be inserted between the cover part and the intermediate part, characterized in that the contacting elements have upward and downward protruding cutting tips for penetrating the strands of both cables and are arranged and held in the intermediate part, the whole in such a way that the cutting tips of the contacting elements from both surfaces of the intermediate part lying opposite the cover part of the upper or lower part of the box as far as the one another protruding wires to be connected, that in the sandwich-like assembly of upper, intermediate and lower part by folding together the upper and lower part by means of the locking lever are automatically connected to each other.
