Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a dishwasher with a system for softening or decarbonating the water used in the dishwasher for rinsing operations, i. to reduce the lime content of the rinsing fluid. More particularly, the invention relates to a dishwasher with a raw water supply, at least one washing container for receiving items to be cleaned and with a device for water softening and / or water desalination of the raw water from the water network, comprising at least one ion exchange container and a fillable Regeneriermittelbehälter.
As is known, a high lime content of the dishwashing liquid used in dishwashers for dishwashing processes is disadvantageous for the dishwashing result, since the limescale deposits on the items to be washed and can therefore cause unwanted clouding, especially in the case of glass ware. Dishwashers with devices for softening or decarbonating the water used for a rinsing or rinsing process are already known in the prior art. The softening of the water serves to reduce the lime content of the rinsing liquid, with ion exchangers generally being used which contain ion exchange material which at least partially extracts from the water the lime or magnesium dissolved therein.
For water softening by means of an ion exchanger, the raw water taken from the domestic water line is passed through the ion exchanger before being introduced into the dishwashing cycle of the dishwasher. The ion exchanger contains a resin having the property of absorbing the calcium ions or magnesium ions dissolved in the water, thereby reducing the lime content of the water. In order to free the resin of the ion exchanger again from the absorbed lime, a regeneration process is carried out regularly, wherein the regenerated salt is added to the ion exchanger, which essentially contains sodium chloride in aqueous solution. As soon as this regenerating brine comes into contact with the resin of the ion exchanger, the sodium ions contained in the regenerating brine are absorbed by the resin instead of the calcium ions or magnesium ions, respectively, while the calcium ions or magnesium ions from the resin in the salt replenished with regenerating salt go into solution. In this way, the calcium ions or magnesium ions are, as it were, exchanged with the sodium ions during the regeneration process and regenerating the resin of the ion exchanger for softening raw water for subsequent rinses.
To perform the regeneration process as efficiently as possible, a certain amount of regenerating brine must be prepared and fed to the ion exchanger. For this purpose, in known devices, the amount of water required for the preparation of the regenerating brine is metered or stored in a separate regeneration water reservoir and mixed with regenerating salt. During the regeneration process, the salt saturated with regeneration salt is passed into the ion exchanger, where it remains for a while to allow the ion exchange described above. The known devices for water softening have the disadvantage that the provision of a certain volume of water to produce the regenerating brine requires a separate Regenerierwasser reservoir, which has a certain footprint and increases the cost of the dishwasher.
As
The object of the present invention is therefore to provide a dishwasher with a device for softening or decarbonating the water used in the dishwasher for rinsing operations, which has a small footprint and reduces manufacturing costs.
This object is achieved by the device according to the invention with the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments of the present invention are characterized in the
The dishwasher according to the invention comprises a raw water supply, at least one washing container for receiving items to be cleaned and a raw water treatment apparatus for water softening and / or water-part desalination (decarbonation) of the raw water from the water supply network comprising at least one ion exchange material containing ion exchange container and a fillable Regeneriermittelbehälter, wherein the raw water is supplied to the washing container via the ion exchange container and a water switch is provided, the raw water of the raw water supply alternatively to the ion exchange container or to the regenerant container passes.
In the dishwasher according to the present invention, before or during the rinsing operation, the raw water is supplied from the raw water supply to the ion exchange vessel where the raw water is softened or decarbonated by the ion exchange material in the above-described manner, followed by soft water to the rinse cycle dishwasher to be initiated. For the regeneration process, a certain amount of water is passed from the raw water supply via the water distributor into the regenerant container. The Regeneriermittelbehälter contains regeneration, which dissolves with sufficient residence time of the water in Regeneriermittelbehälter to saturation therein. During the regeneration process, the regeneration brine saturated with regeneration salt is passed into the ion exchange vessel where it remains for a while to allow for the ion exchange described above.
In the dishwasher according to the invention, the amount of water required for the preparation of the regenerating brine is therefore no longer measured or kept in a separate Regenerierwasser reservoir, but passed directly from the water supply network via the water switch in the Regeneriermittelbehälter. A dishwasher according to the present invention thus has the advantage that the amount of water required to produce the regenerating brine need not be measured or stored in a separate regenerating water reservoir and therefore such a regenerating water reservoir is no longer required. By eliminating a separate Regenerierwasser storage tank, on the one hand, the manufacturing cost of the dishwasher are reduced and, secondly, due to the smaller footprint of the raw water treatment device, the space released can be used elsewhere.
It is particularly advantageous if a water quantity measuring device is provided in a line between the raw water supply and the water switch. As a result, the amount of water flowing into the dishwasher through the supply of raw water can be exactly determined. Due to the determined in a line between the raw water supply and the water switch amount of water, the function of the water switch can be controlled and thus the supply of raw water can be controlled in the Regeneriermittelbehälter. For the same purpose, additionally or alternatively, a water quantity measuring device may also be provided in a line between the water diverter and the regenerant container. The water quantity measuring device can be designed, for example, as an impeller meter, which determine the volume of water flowing in the lines through an impeller arranged at least partially in the water flow of the relevant line.
In a further preferred embodiment of the present invention, the raw water is supplied from the water supply network of the raw water treatment device via a Rücksaugsicherung. Such Rücksaugsicherung is preferably realized by a free flow path in which the water over a certain Following the course of gravity falling freely down and collects again at a lower end of the free flow path, the free flow path allows pressure equalization with the environment. This ensures that in the case of a negative pressure in the water network no liquid from the dishwasher is sucked into the water mains.
It when the Rücksaugsicherung, the ion exchange container and the water switch are combined in a preferably exchangeable assembly is particularly advantageous. As a result, the components mentioned can be inexpensively and easily installed in the form of a single assembly in the dishwasher. In an alternative embodiment, at least the ion exchange container and the regenerant container are combined in a preferably exchangeable assembly, wherein the Rücksaugsicherung can be integrated in such an assembly. The interchangeability of these assemblies reduces maintenance and any repair costs.
Conveniently, the ion exchange container and the regenerant are connected to each other via a preferably valve-controlled line. The valve control allows reliable control of the liquid movement from the regenerant container into the ion exchange container. Additionally, a check valve may be provided between the ion exchange vessel and the regenerant vessel to prevent backflow of liquid from the ion exchange vessel into the regenerant vessel. By arranging a filling valve in the raw water supply a shut-off of the raw water supply is possible as soon as the dishwasher has been supplied with a sufficient amount of raw water from the water supply network.
According to a further embodiment of the present invention, it is also possible to soften or decarbonate the raw water for a plurality of dishwashers with only one raw water treatment device, for example by providing between the ion exchange container and the rinsing container another water diverter which alternately separates the soft water from the ion exchange container Washing container of a dishwasher or another dishwasher directs. Thus, the ion exchange container of the raw water treatment device can be used for raw water treatment for two dishwashers, wherein for regeneration of the ion exchange container also only one Regeneriermittelbehälter is required.
The dishwasher according to the invention and the embodiments mentioned above are conveniently operated via a preferably electronic program control, which controls the flow of the wash programs. In particular, the program control regulates the course of the regeneration process, taking into account the signals supplied by the water quantity measuring device. Using the water meter in the raw water supply, the program controller can determine how much raw water has passed through the ion exchange vessel and, therefore, determine the need for a regeneration process for the ion exchange material in the ion exchange vessel and control the period of the regeneration process. For this purpose, both the filling valve, and the valves of the valve-controlled lines and the water points are preferably individually or jointly controlled via the program control preferably according to a particular washing program.
