Definitions
- the invention relates to a tappet for an internal combustion engine according to the preamble of claim 1. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for producing such a tappet.
- tappets with anti-rotation elements are known for example from DE 28 29 423 C2, DE 41 15 670 A1, DE 43 24 756 C2, DE 195 01 061 A1, DE 199 57 772 A1, DE 101 23 966 A1 and DE 43 37 330 A1.
- the invention has for its object to provide a non-rotating cup tappet, which ensures a simple production possibility of the cup, in particular the recess of the shirt, and / or anti-rotation element easy installation, a good function and high reliability.
- Another object of the invention is to propose a simple and inexpensive method for producing a tappet.
- bucket tappet means any element of a valve train which is interposed in the power flow between the camshaft and valve, in particular a conventional bucket tappet or a roller tappet.
- a bucket tappet for an internal combustion engine of any type is used, in particular a mechanical, hydraulic and / or switchable bucket tappet.
- the tappet has a shirt, which is used, for example, a hollow cylinder with a lateral surface corresponding to the lateral surface of a cylinder in a corresponding bore of an adjacent guide element such as a cylinder head.
- an anti-rotation element is provided according to the invention, which, in particular radially inward, is permanently inserted into a radial recess of the shirt. The anti-rotation element determines the orientation of the shirt relative to an adjacent guide element about a lifting axis, which corresponds to the stroke axis of the valve.
- the anti-rotation element completely prevent rotation of the bucket tappet or of the shirt about the lifting axis in that the anti-rotation element is received in the circumferential direction positively in a recess of the cylinder head.

- the anti-rotation element can fulfill further functions.
- the anti-rotation element has a circumferential wall in the circumferential direction.
- the wall has on the one hand at least one end face, which is supported on the outer lateral surface of the shirt radially inwardly.
- At least one extension is associated with the wall, which extends through the recess and has a shoulder which is supported radially outward on the inner lateral surface of the shirt.
- the invention is based on the finding that it is not necessary that the anti-rotation element extends through the recess over its entire circumference about its longitudinal axis. Rather, portions of the aforementioned scope are arranged only outside of the shirt and support with their end faces the anti-rotation element radially inward, while extending only portions through the recess. As a result, the required material usage for the anti-rotation element can be reduced. About the paragraph a functional and reliable way of supporting the anti-rotation element is created radially outward.

- two opposite extensions can be provided with paragraphs, which are each supported on the inner circumferential surface of the shirt radially outward. Due to the increased number of supporting and contact points, on the one hand, the acting forces between anti-rotation element and shirt can be increased and / or the stresses of said components can be reduced. On the other hand, as a result of the increase in the number of supporting points, a more exact predefinition of the position and position of the anti-rotation element relative to the shirt results.
- the contact surfaces can be formed here selectively, with small or large areas.
- two opposite end faces of the anti-rotation element are provided with two spherical contact areas, which are supported radially on the outer surface of the shirt.

- a particularly simple to produce anti-rotation element of a tappet according to the invention can be made by producing the same from a sheet metal semi-finished product.
- the sheet semifinished product can be completed immediately with the required outer contour or in a special processing operation as a sheet metal blank, in particular by a cutting process or a punching process, are produced.
- a sheet metal semi-finished product By means of such a sheet metal semi-finished product, a constant or slightly varying wall thickness can be achieved in a simple manner.
- a simple hollow body is designed by means of the sheet metal semi-finished, which may have high strength at low wall thickness and resulting low weight, which may result from a solidification during the forming process and / or by increasing the area moment of inertia due to the deformation.
- the semi-finished sheet metal or sheet metal blank has a large-area center region and two opposing projections.
- the large-area center region is in particular formed into a hollow body during a forming process and thus forms on the one hand a bottom and the wall and on the other hand an end face which alone or with the wall forms contact with the adjacent guide element, in particular with the cylinder head.

It is also possible that the paragraphs are produced only with a successful assembly of anti-rotation element and shirt, for example by spreading the extensions inside the shirt.
- a particularly advantageous embodiment is obtained when the anti-rotation element can be clipped into the recess of the shirt. Accordingly, the projections or the heels of the anti-rotation element are elastically deformed under elastic deformation with insertion of the anti-rotation element into the recess and jump for an reached mounting position again transversely to the longitudinal axis of the anti-rotation element outwards and thus give the position of the anti-rotation element in one direction.
- a sheet metal blank is created, for example by punching.
- the sheet metal blank is formed by a forming process in a one-sided open spatial hollow body.
- the forming process can take place, for example, in a drawing and / or embossing, for example in one or more stages.
- the paragraphs are provided on the extensions.

- the shirt 4 has a radial recess 5.
- an anti-rotation element 6 is inserted in the radial direction, which is supported in the circumferential direction about the lifting axis HH and in the stroke direction HH relative to the boundary of the recess 5.
- the radially oriented longitudinal axis of the anti-rotation element is referred to here as axis LL.
- the part of the anti-twist element 6 arranged radially inward of the shirt 4 engages positively in an inner body 7 of the bucket tappet 1, whereby it is fixed in the direction of the lifting axis HH as well as in the circumferential direction or limited in its displacement.
- Radially outboard the anti-rotation element 6 is positively received in the circumferential direction about the lifting axis HH in a guide groove of the bore for the tappet 1, which extends in the direction of the lifting axis HH, so that via the anti-rotation element 6 a displacement of the tappet 1 in the direction of the lifting axis HH not is hindered, while a rotation of the bucket tappet 1 is excluded or limited to the lifting axis HH.
- the paragraphs 25, 26 are produced by forming the extensions 9, 10 transversely to the axis L-L to the outside before or after insertion of the anti-rotation element 6 in the recess 5.
- a sheet metal blank 8 with constant wall thickness can be used directly.
- the paragraphs 25, 26 are formed from thickening, which require a different wall thickness of the sheet metal blank 8 in the corresponding portion. Alternatively, the thickening can be subsequently applied to the corresponding portions of the extensions 9, 10.
- the wall 24 of the anti-rotation element 6 can be manufactured with the extensions 9, 10 in a first forming process. If small dimensional constraints arise as a result of this forming process for the projections 13, 14, 15, 16, they can be brought to the specified dimension in a subsequent embossing process and be correlated with one another.
- Figure 3 shows a section in section III-III, from which the concerns of the anti-rotation element 6 in the region of the contact surfaces 29 in a peripheral region of the wall 24 and the Hindragragen the projections 9, 10 through the recess 5 of the shirt 4 can be seen.
- FIGS. 4 to 6 show sections with a cross-sectional view taken transversely to the longitudinal axis L-L in parallel planes.
- the height of the anti-rotation element 6, which is important for example for the interaction with a bore of the cylinder head and the guidance provided therein, can be ensured by the embossing and the dimension of a forming tool.
- the development of the stamped sheet metal part may at least partially have a corrugated shape, so that there are lower embossing forces.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a tappet for an internal combustion engine according to the preamble of
- According to a first embodiment of this document, the anti-rotation element is designed as a cylinder body whose longitudinal axis is oriented in the stroke direction and whose end faces radially inwardly opening grooves, into which engages a projection of the shirt. The outside of the shirt lying lateral surface of the cylindrical anti-rotation element engages in the groove of the cylinder head, while the inner circumferential surface rests against an inner body of the bucket tappet.
- According to a second embodiment of this document, the anti-rotation element is designed as an elastic spring element in the form of a U-shaped clip with two legs and a back. The clip is inserted with its legs radially inwardly into the recess of the tappet under elastic deformation until indentations of the legs engage in the boundaries of the recess of the shirt in the circumferential direction.
- According to a third embodiment, the anti-rotation element is designed as a hollow cylindrical, slotted sleeve whose longitudinal axis is oriented in the stroke direction. The sleeve has indentations, in which engage under elastic deformation of the sleeve, the boundaries of the recess of the shirt in the circumferential direction.

The invention has for its object to provide a non-rotating cup tappet, which ensures a simple production possibility of the cup, in particular the recess of the shirt, and / or anti-rotation element easy installation, a good function and high reliability. Another object of the invention is to propose a simple and inexpensive method for producing a tappet.
The above object is achieved according to the invention by the features of
For the purposes of the present invention, the term "bucket tappet" means any element of a valve train which is interposed in the power flow between the camshaft and valve, in particular a conventional bucket tappet or a roller tappet.
According to the invention, a bucket tappet for an internal combustion engine of any type is used, in particular a mechanical, hydraulic and / or switchable bucket tappet. The tappet has a shirt, which is used, for example, a hollow cylinder with a lateral surface corresponding to the lateral surface of a cylinder in a corresponding bore of an adjacent guide element such as a cylinder head. Furthermore, an anti-rotation element is provided according to the invention, which, in particular radially inward, is permanently inserted into a radial recess of the shirt. The anti-rotation element determines the orientation of the shirt relative to an adjacent guide element about a lifting axis, which corresponds to the stroke axis of the valve. Here, the anti-rotation element completely prevent rotation of the bucket tappet or of the shirt about the lifting axis in that the anti-rotation element is received in the circumferential direction positively in a recess of the cylinder head. Alternatively, a small clearance in the circumferential direction may be provided or the orientation of the shirt is predetermined by the anti-rotation element in an angular range. In addition to the aforementioned function of a specification of the orientation, the anti-rotation element can fulfill further functions.
According to the invention, the anti-rotation element has a circumferential wall in the circumferential direction. The wall has on the one hand at least one end face, which is supported on the outer lateral surface of the shirt radially inwardly. By such a support a flat support and installation of the wall is ensured on the shirt. As a result, force peaks can be avoided to specify the position of the anti-rotation element relative to the shirt. In addition, an already present end face of a wall is a particularly simple way to ensure a one-sided support. Furthermore, the face for mounting the maximum insertion of Verdrehsicherungselementes in the cup before, whereby a faulty mounting is avoided by pushing too far.
According to the invention, at least one extension is associated with the wall, which extends through the recess and has a shoulder which is supported radially outward on the inner lateral surface of the shirt. The invention is based on the finding that it is not necessary that the anti-rotation element extends through the recess over its entire circumference about its longitudinal axis. The heel provides a positive connection in one direction between anti-rotation element and shirt, which can be overcome only under elastic and / or plastic deformation of the anti-rotation element. According to the invention, the regions for support radially inward and radially outward are spatially separated from one another in the circumferential direction about the longitudinal axis of the anti-rotation element and can in particular be different depending on the requirements, for example corresponding to the forces acting in operation and corresponding to the necessary assembly forces. or disassembly forces. However, it is also possible that at least a portion of the extensions and end faces at the same circumferential angle to the longitudinal axis of the anti-rotation element, but is arranged offset radially to this longitudinal axis.
According to a development of the invention, the number of supporting points between anti-rotation element and shirt can be increased by providing two end faces, which are opposite one another on the circumference, which are radially supported on the outer lateral surface of the shirt. Alternatively or additionally, two opposite extensions can be provided with paragraphs, which are each supported on the inner circumferential surface of the shirt radially outward. The contact surfaces can be formed here selectively, with small or large areas.
According to a particular embodiment of the tappet according to the invention two opposite end faces of the anti-rotation element are provided with two spherical contact areas, which are supported radially on the outer surface of the shirt. As a result, two (or more) contact areas can be provided in the region of one end face each be so that at least three contact surfaces are present, which dictate the relative position of the anti-rotation element against the shirt in the room completely and without allowing a further degree of freedom.
A particularly simple to produce anti-rotation element of a tappet according to the invention can be made by producing the same from a sheet metal semi-finished product. In this case, the sheet semifinished product can be completed immediately with the required outer contour or in a special processing operation as a sheet metal blank, in particular by a cutting process or a punching process, are produced. By means of such a sheet metal semi-finished product, a constant or slightly varying wall thickness can be achieved in a simple manner. On the other hand, a simple hollow body is designed by means of the sheet metal semi-finished, which may have high strength at low wall thickness and resulting low weight, which may result from a solidification during the forming process and / or by increasing the area moment of inertia due to the deformation.
Preferably, the semi-finished sheet metal or sheet metal blank has a large-area center region and two opposing projections. The large-area center region is in particular formed into a hollow body during a forming process and thus forms on the one hand a bottom and the wall and on the other hand an end face which alone or with the wall forms contact with the adjacent guide element, in particular with the cylinder head.
As a good compromise for the thickness of the sheet metal semi-finished a thickness of 0.3 to 0.8 mm has been found for the one hand, a low weight of the anti-rotation is given on the other hand, sufficient rigidity to ensure the function and reliability.
The anti-rotation element may be formed in one or more pieces. In particular, it is conceivable that the paragraphs are additionally applied to the wall of the anti-rotation element or the extensions or connected to them. It is also possible that the paragraphs are produced only with a successful assembly of anti-rotation element and shirt, for example by spreading the extensions inside the shirt. A particularly advantageous embodiment is obtained when the anti-rotation element can be clipped into the recess of the shirt. For disassembly it is u. U. possible that the elastic deformation is brought about again, whereby overcoming the heels and thus disassembly is possible. The paragraphs may have to influence on the one hand assembly and disassembly and on the other hand to determine the securing effect radially outward over suitable contours. If the heels are designed as steps transversely to the longitudinal axis of the anti-rotation element, the best possible securing results in the assembly position. For a chamfer of heels, on the one hand in the insertion and / or on the other in the contact area between heel and shirt in the mounted position forces acting radially outward on the anti-rotation element can be divided into a component which tends to deformation of the heels in the direction of the lifting axis cause an assembly and / or disassembly is simplified. At the same time, such a slope can promote snapping the heels in the mounting position. The contact area between the heels and the shirt is designed appropriately, so that there is a large contact surface. In the aforementioned oblique formation of the paragraph, it is also possible that for a production of the wall thickness of the shirt and / or dimensions of the anti-rotation element greater tolerances are possible because in the field of Slanted several stable and secure positions of the anti-rotation element are possible.

In a first method step, a sheet metal blank is created, for example by punching. Subsequently, the sheet metal blank is formed by a forming process in a one-sided open spatial hollow body. The forming process can take place, for example, in a drawing and / or embossing, for example in one or more stages. During this deformation or at this time afterwards, the paragraphs are provided on the extensions. The paragraphs can also be made by forming the extensions and / or by applying additional material in the paragraphs.

Figure 1 shows a
- FIG. 7 shows a semifinished
sheet metal product 8 or a sheet metal blank which can be reshaped to form theanti-rotation element 6. The sheet metalsemi-finished product 8 is approximately diamond-shaped, wherein opposite corners of the diamond-shaped sheet semifinished product rectangular, mutually aligned 9, 10 having a width which corresponds to about half to a quarter, preferably one third of the extension of the rhombus in the same direction. The other opposite corners of the diamond-shaped sheet metal semifinished to each other have approximatelyextensions 11, 12, which are preferably curved and reciprocating, so that they each have two mutually spacedparallel flats 13, 14, 15, 16 have. Thespherical projections 11, 12 andflats 13, 14, 15, 16 formprojections 17, 18 of the sheetcentral regions semifinished product 8. A central surface of the sheetsemifinished product 8 forms a bottom 23, which has for example approximately elliptical shape. From the sheet semifinished product shown in FIG. 7, a trough-shaped body is produced in any production method, in particular a forming method, by leaving the bottom 23 in the drawing plane according to FIG approximately trough-shapedanti-rotation element 6 results in the bottom 23, which is oriented transversely to the longitudinal axis LL, and a circumferential axis about thelongitudinal axis LL 24 and of thewall 24 in parallel to the longitudinal axis 9,10, wherein the longitudinal axis LL of theLL projecting projections anti-rotation element 6 is oriented vertically to the plane of FIG 7. - FIG. 2 shows the
anti-rotation element 6 produced from the sheet metalsemifinished product 8 in a state inserted into therecess 5 of theshirt 4 of thecup 2. The 9, 10 in this case enter radially inwardly into theprojections recess 5, so that they protrude into the interior of thecup 2. In the end regions remote from thebase 23, the 9, 10 haveextensions shoulders 25, 26 which project outward transversely to the longitudinal axis LL and which must be elastically deformed with insertion into the cup in the direction of the axis LL and for reaching that shown in FIG Mounting position transverse to the axis LL snap outwards and thereby secure theanti-rotation element 6 against displacement radially outward of thecup 2. Theparagraphs 25, 26 may here on both sides have chamfers, which facilitate threading of the 9, 10 in theextensions recess 5. Transition areas 32, 33 of theparagraphs 25, 26, in which theparagraphs 25, 26 merge into the remaining part of the 9, 10, may be aligned transversely to the axis LL or be formed according to the embodiment shown in Figure 2 as a slope.extensions
The
In the circumferential direction about the longitudinal axis LL between the
Between the contact surfaces 29, 30 of the associated region of the end faces 27, 28 spaced from the outer surface of the

- If the transition regions 32, 33 are formed as an abrupt step transversely to the longitudinal axis LL, a maximum securing effect can be achieved.
- If the transition regions 32, 33 are curved or as shown in Figure 2 formed as a slope, as a result of the slope during assembly, a movement of the anti-rotation is supported in the end position shown in Figure 2. On the other hand, a disassembly of the anti-rotation element is supported, as in an application of the anti-rotation radially outwardly of the

- clamps the
anti-rotation element 6 and thus secures against a displacement in a direction transverse to the longitudinal axis LL or a wobble, - compensates for any production play of
9, 10 and / orextensions recess 5, - in addition to the contact surfaces 29, 30 secures the anti-rotation element radially inward and / or
- in addition to the
paragraphs 25, 26, theanti-rotation element 6 secures radially outward.
The height of the
