Description

The present invention relates to a flexible folding curtain door and a device for guiding the curtain of the door. In the field of flexible curtain doors, a distinction is made between so-called roller doors in which a flexible curtain is wound on a tree and so-called folding doors in which, during the opening of the curtain, it folds accordion at the top of the door. Doors of this latter type have, schematically, two vertical slides at the top of which is placed a shaft driven by an electric motor. The curtain is suspended from a transverse bar located below the winding shaft and has a threshold bar at its lower end. Two vertical and parallel straps fixed, on the one hand, to the threshold bar and, on the other hand, to the winding shaft make it possible to raise the curtain when the shaft is rotated. The curtain in its raised position collects in an accordion in the upper part of the door and opens the passage. Usually, the curtain is provided with several sleeves in which stiffening bars are inserted. An important problem which arises for these doors is that of managing the seal between the lateral edges of the curtain and the vertical uprights. In fact, to receive the curtain in the high position, the slides generally have a C-shaped cross section, the two wings of which are 300 to 600 mm apart. This distance makes it possible to receive, between the two wings of the upright, the accordion folds of the curtain when it is raised. The consequence of the wide opening of the uprights is that, when wind blows, the curtain tends to flap and an air exchange occurs through the side edges of it. The invention aims to remedy these drawbacks and aims to improve the tightness of a folding door. To this end, the subject of the invention is a door comprising, in a manner known per se, two vertical slides, and at least one curtain flexible can be folded into the upper part of the slides, having at least one stiffening crossbar. According to the invention, a guide device is engaged in the extension of at least one stiffening bar providing guidance of the curtain in at least one of the slides in a plane offset relative to the plane of the curtain, the curtain coming in applies against a surface of the slide. Thus, the basic idea of the invention consists in guiding the curtain to prevent it from beating when exposed to gusts of wind, this guidance being offset relative to the plane of the curtain to allow a surface support of the curtain on a surface of the slides. This application of the curtain against a surface of each slide prevents an exchange of air from occurring at the side edges of the curtain. This arrangement is quite remarkable since it allows the folding of the curtain in the upper part of the door, and this outside the slide, while preserving the seal. According to an advantageous embodiment, the guide device has at least one guide member whose axis is offset relative to the plane of the curtain. So that the folding of the curtain takes place in a harmonious manner, the connection between the guide device and the stiffening bar allows a rotation of the guide device relative to the stiffening bar. To avoid that an accidental action against the curtain does not result in costly damage to repair thereon, at least one of the connections between the guide devices and on the one hand the stiffening bar and on the other hand the slide is likely to dislocate without external stress exceeding a predetermined value. Thus before a permanent deformation of the stiffening bar or the slide, the guide device breaks to avoid irreversible damage to the door. Preferably, the guide device (14) has at least one rupture or deformation zone capable of disengaging the guide device from the stiffening bar (12) or from the slide (2). According to a possible embodiment of the door in which it comprises two parallel curtains, it comprises a guide device, which can engage on a stiffener belonging to each of curtains, having at least one guide member offset relative to the plane of each of the curtains. In this possible embodiment, a connecting spacer connects two stiffening bars, which makes it possible to create an assembly with high inertia while being of limited mass. Preferably, each of the slides has a first wing against the external face of which the curtain comes to rest and a second wing delimiting with the first wing a groove receiving a guide member of the guide device. In addition, the curtain has a window at the end of each stiffening bar through which protrudes the guide device. The invention also relates to a guide device which comprises a body having at one of its ends, at least one means of engagement on a stiffening bar, and at its second end, at least one guide member, the axis is offset from the axis of the engagement means on the stiffening bar. Here again, the basic idea of the invention is found again, since the guide device makes it possible to guide the curtain in a plane offset relative to the plane of the curtain itself, which makes it possible to provide a space for placing that -this in support against a. surface of a slide. According to one possible embodiment, the guide device consists of a body having a large parallel base and a small base, connected by a semi-cylindrical wall perpendicular to the two bases, the large base being equipped with at least one guide member and the small base having a blind hole capable of receiving a stiffening bar. Advantageously, the guide members comprise: - a ring having a semi-cylindrical wall and a flat wall placed in the extension of the semi-cylindrical wall, and - a rotary roller. The semi-cylindrical ring extends the stiffening bar and thus avoids the formation of folds in the curtain of the curtain at the end thereof. Advantageously, the semi-cylindrical ring contains a roller. According to another possible embodiment, the guide members consist of two rollers oriented in V relative to one another, capable of coming to bear against a rib having a V-shaped section. In the case of a door having two parallel curtains the guide device comprises a body having a large base and two small bases symmetrical with respect to the median plane, each of the bases being connected to the large base by a semi-cylindrical wall, the large base being equipped with at least one guide member and each of small bases has a blind hole capable of receiving a stiffening bar. In this case, according to one possibility, the guide members comprise: - a rotary roller and - two rings symmetrical with respect to the rotary roller each having a semi-cylindrical wall placed in the extension of each semi-cylindrical wall. For a good understanding of the invention is described with reference to the accompanying drawings showing by way of nonlimiting examples several embodiments of folding doors and guiding devices according thereto. Figure 1 shows a door seen from the outside with partial cutout of the curtain at the end of the stiffening bars, Figure 2 shows in perspective from the interior area delimited by the door two guide devices engaged in a slide, Figure 3 shows in perspective and in section the guide device engaged in a slide, FIG. 4 is a cross-section view at the end of a stiffening bar, Figure 5 is a view also in section along VV of Figure 2, Figure 6 shows the section VI-VI of Figure 4, Figure 7 shows an alternative embodiment of the guide device, Figure 8 shows in section another possible embodiment of the guide device, Figure 9 shows in section a door having two parallel curtains. For simplicity, the elements which are found in these different embodiments, or which are similar from one embodiment to another, are designated by the same reference numerals. Referring first to Figure 1 we can see that the guide device according to the invention finds its application for a door comprising two side rails 2 supporting at their upper end a winding shaft. In Figure 1, the winding shaft is hidden by a transverse cover 3. A flexible curtain 4 is suspended between the two side rails 2 by a suspension bar. At soη lower end, the flexible curtain 4 is equipped with a threshold bar 6 which is connected by straps 8 to the winding shaft located in the housing 3. The straps 8 appear through transparent windows 9 made in the curtain 4. In the description which follows, by convention, the interior of the door will be designated on which the straps are mounted and the exterior of the side of the door without the strap as it appears in FIG. 1.
It is understood, however, that the distinction between interior and exterior is simply intended to simplify the description of these doors but that the door can of course separate two rooms each located in the same building. In the usual way, the curtain 4 has at regular intervals sleeves extending over its entire width in which stiffening bars 12 are inserted. Referring to Figure 2 or Figure 3, it can be seen that a guide device 14 is arranged in the extension of each of the stiffening bars. The guide device 14 comprises a body of substantially trapezoidal shape having a large base 16 and a small base 17 parallel, these two bases being connected on the one hand by a semi-cylindrical wall perpendicular 18 to the two bases and by an oblique semi-cylindrical wall 19. It is also noted that the body of the guide device consists of two half shells 20a, 20b produced by molding in a material having a certain elasticity. As clearly shown in Figure 3, the large base of the body is equipped with a semi-cylindrical ring 22 and a rotary roller 23. The semi-cylindrical ring 22 as the roller 23 are mounted on two axes 25,26 sandwiched between the two half shells
20a, 20b. 20a, 20b. An important characteristic, as will be seen below, is that the semi-cylindrical ring 22 is located in the extension of the semi-cylindrical wall 18 of the body. At the small base 16, the body has a blind hole extended by a flange 28. An element to be taken into consideration in the door according to the invention is constituted by the two lateral slides 2. As can be seen in cross section in Figure 6, each of the slides has an outer wing 28 and an inner wing29, these two wings being parallel. It is also noted that the slide 2 has an extension 30 towards the outside, perpendicular to the outer wing 28. Another characteristic element of this door is constituted by windows 32 formed in the curtain at the end of each bar stiffening. It will be recalled that the curtain has a multilayer structure, especially at the level of the stiffening bars 12. These are inserted in a sheath constituted by a strip 34 of flexible material welded to a nut 35 to form the sheath. The operation of the door is therefore as follows. As can be seen in Figure 2 or in Figure 3 the guide device 14 is fitted on each end of the stiffening bars 12. The diameter of the blind hole relative to that of the stiffening bar is such that the device guide is free to rotate relative to the stiffening bar 12. The guide device is locked in translation by the window 32 since, at its oblique wall, the guide device protrudes from this window, but as can be seen in FIG. 4, is retained in the axial direction of the stiffening bar 12 by the edges of the window 32. The curtain is then guided by the semi-cylindrical ring 22, the flat wall of which bears against the outer face of the wing 28 and the roller 23 of which is bordered by the face 28 of the outer wing and by the outer face of the wing 29. Thanks to this guide device, it can therefore be seen that the curtain is perfectly guided pa r compared to the rails 2 and that, as shown in FIG. 5, which shows a cross section of the door between two stiffening bars 12, the curtain 4 comes to bear against the outer face of the outer wing. This characteristic is particularly advantageous when the wind is blowing since the action of the wind tends to press the lateral edges of the curtain 4 against each of the wings 28 with which the slides are provided. It should also be noted that when wind blows in a transverse direction, that is to say parallel to the plane of the curtain 4, the extension 30 with which the slides are equipped protects from the entry of a lateral air current . When the curtain is raised, the guide device 14 therefore slides relative to the rails 2. One point which is important to note is that the formation of folds in the upper part of the door is done harmoniously on the one hand because that the guide devices 14 can pivot relative to the stiffening bars and on the other hand because the semi-cylindrical rings 22 located in the extension of the body produce with the stiffening bars 12 a semi-cylindrical element over the entire width of the curtain. Finally, it should be noted that the door thus defined exhibits a remarkable behavior with respect to shocks that it could undergo. It should be noted that when the door is accidentally pressed from the outside, it offers a possibility of disengagement of the end pieces of the slides without irreversible damage to the curtain 4. In fact, during an accidental action against the curtain 4, the stiffening bar 12 bent and the guide devices disengage from the slides. This release can be done in two ways. Either the deflection of the bar causes the release of the roller 23 and the hemispherical ring 22 of each of the wings 28, 29; it should be noted in passing that it is therefore necessary to overcome the reaction of two bearing surfaces since the hemispherical ring 22 is in abutment against the outer wing 28 and the roller 23 is in abutment against the inner wing29. Either in a second release mode of the guide device, the release is obtained by the opening of the two half-shells 20a, 20b relative to each other since,. as we have seen, these are made of an elastic material. Thus, the end of the stiffening bar can escape from the device by the opening of these two half shells 20a, 20b due to their elastic deformation. During an accidental impact from the inside, the same release mode occurs, knowing that in this case only the roller 23 is in abutment against the outer wing 28. FIG. 7 shows an alternative embodiment in which a roller 39 is inserted into the semi-cylindrical ring. This roller 39 protrudes from the curtain 4 by a specific window made therein which allows this roller 39 to be in contact with the outer wing 29. This variant embodiment preserves the integrity of the curtain 4 at its zone of friction against the outer wing 28. FIG. 8 represents another possible embodiment in which the guide members consist of two rollers 41 oriented in V relative to one another, capable of coming to bear against a rib 42 having a V-shaped section. FIG. 9 represents a door having two curtains. According to this embodiment, it comprises a guide device, which can engage on a stiffener belonging to each of the curtains, having a guide member offset relative to the plane of each of the curtains. The guide device comprises two semi-cylindrical rings 22 surrounding a roller 23. In this possible embodiment, a connecting spacer 44 connects two stiffening bars 12, which makes it possible to create an assembly with high inertia while being of limited mass. The door thus described therefore has many advantages since it guarantees lateral guidance of its curtain as well as very high lateral tightness. The invention has been described above with reference to a non-limiting exemplary embodiment, but it of course embraces all of the embodiments thereof. Thus the slides appear to be in two parts, the extension 30 being formed by an attached cover.
