Claims (7)

  1. Multi-colour rotary press
    - in which the colours which are to be transferred onto the printing material are respectively assigned a printing forme carrier (1) which is a sleeve or a flexible mat and bears a printing forme (6) and
    - which (1) can be fixed on a mandrel or cylinder (5) of a rotary press in order to transfer the printing image onto printing material,
    - the rotary press having register devices (6, 7, 8) which determine the positions of the printing formes (6) relative to one another,
    - the register devices (6, 7, 8) comprising sensors (3) which determine the positions of the printing forme carriers (1) in the press, and
    - before, at the start of or during the printing process, the register devices (6, 7, 8) providing information about the positions of the printing forme carriers (1) with the aid of the sensors (3),
    - on the basis of which information control signals can be provided,

    and, with these control signals, the control apparatus activating the drives of the mandrels or cylinders (5) in such a way and/or adjusting the drive connection located between the drive and the mandrel in such a way that the phase angle of the mandrels or cylinders (5) relative to one another is varied in such a way
    - that the register accuracy of the print increases,

    during the adjustment of the relative phase angle of the mandrels or cylinders, the printing forme carriers (1) are at rest relative to the mandrels or cylinders (5) assigned thereto.
