Description

O-Rahmen-KokilleO Frame mold
The invention relates to a mold with two opposite, coolable broad side walls, mainly made of copper, between which, for the purpose of setting the format width, coolable narrow side walls which can be displaced relative to one another are held and for the clamping of which power means, in particular hydraulic cylinders, are provided, the clamping path and / or clamping force of which can be adjusted is, the mold is arranged with its water boxes carrying the copper plates of the wide side walls within a dimensionally stable outer frame.
A mold of this type forms a square casting mold with four water-cooled copper plates, comprising two broad sides and two narrow sides, which gives the steel strip to be produced its shape. It comprises a peripheral outer frame in which water boxes on which the broadside copper plates are mounted are slidably mounted. The narrow-side copper plates are mounted on so-called support plates, which are also slidably mounted in the surrounding outer frame. The design principle of this mold design is described in document DE 197 53 959 A1.
The four copper plates are firmly clamped together during the casting process. For this purpose, one of the two water boxes, which carries one of the broad-side copper plates, namely the fixed-side water box, is first pressed with the help of hydraulic cylinders on stops of the narrow-side copper plates, which are part of the surrounding outer frame. Because the fixed-side water tank is pressed onto stationary stops, this arrangement is referred to as the "fixed side" or "fixed-side water tank". Then the second of the two water boxes, which carries the other of the two broad-side copper plates, namely the so-called loss-side water box, is also pressed with the aid of hydraulic cylinders onto the narrow-side copper plates located between the two broad-side copper plates. In this way, the square mold for the following casting process is finally formed.
With this mold design, the position of the mold is defined by the fixed side, while the loose side clamps the narrow sides and prevents the mold from opening during the casting process. The necessary clamping of the narrow sides takes place via the narrow-side copper plates. The hydraulic cylinders, which are used to open and close as well as to clamp the copper plates, are fastened in the known known design of a mold in the peripheral outer frame. This creates a balance of forces in the closed state, the outer frame representing a self-contained force system. The well-known design is a significant improvement compared to earlier mold designs.
The known embodiment provides that the cylinders with which the water boxes are moved and clamped in the peripheral outer frame are attached in the outer part of the frame. For closing and clamping, pressure forces are applied with the help of the hydraulic cylinders, which generate outward reaction forces and must be absorbed in the surrounding outer frame. A common name for this type of mold is "O-frame mold" because the surrounding, closed outer frame, viewed from above, looks like a square "O".
The known cylinder arrangement described above causes forces to form in the closed, clamped state, one force vector of which is directed outwards. This results in a force effect on the surrounding outer frame, which is reflected in a change in shape. The fixed-side water tank is pressed against its stop while There is a gap between the loss side water tank and the surrounding outer frame. This gap is necessary because otherwise the loose side water box could not pinch the narrow side copper plates.
Because the hydraulic cylinders are mounted outside in the O-frame in the aforementioned prior art, the water tanks are pressed into their position. The fixed-side water tank is pressed against a stop by the fixed-side hydraulic cylinders and an equally large, outwardly directed reaction force is created. The loss-side water tank is pressed against the narrow-side copper plates by the loss-side hydraulic cylinders and an equally large, outwardly directed reaction force is created. Because this arrangement is a closed outer frame, a self-contained force system has been created which is in balance. The outward reaction forces are absorbed by the outer frame and therefore cause this outer frame to deform. As a result, this must be designed to be extremely rigid, which means that the design of the mold has to be complex and constructed with considerable effort in terms of material and weight.
Starting from the aforementioned prior art, the invention has for its object to improve the design of the mold in order to overcome the aforementioned disadvantages and difficulties and to realize a lighter and generally less expensive construction of the same without a fundamental change in the functional principle of the mold.
To achieve the object, it is proposed in a mold of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1 with the invention that the fixed-side water tank can be moved into its position by hydraulic cylinders arranged inside the outer frame and the loss-side water tank can also be moved by hydraulic cylinders arranged in its interior is movably arranged in its position. The fixed side hydraulic cylinders are now installed in the inner part of the outer frame and are no longer visible from the outside. Hydraulic cylinders are no longer attached to the outer circumferential part of the O-frame. Nothing has changed in the way the overall structure of the construction works; the fixed-side water tank is still in contact with the stops, while the loss-side water tank clamps in the narrow-side copper plates and the gap between the loose-side water tank and the outer frame is therefore retained. Because the invention provides that hydraulic cylinders are mounted inside the O-frame for the fixed side water tank and hydraulic cylinders in the loss side water tank, the water tanks are pulled into their positions under load instead of being pressed.
The fixed side water tank is pulled against the stop by the fixed side hydraulic cylinders. The result is an equally large, oppositely directed reaction force. The loss-side water tank is pulled by the loss-side hydraulic cylinders against the narrow-side copper plates and this creates an equally large, oppositely directed reaction force. This also creates a self-contained system of forces that is in balance. The reaction forces now directed inwards are absorbed between the components as compressive stresses; they are no longer absorbed by the outer frame and therefore do not cause any deformation of the outer frame.
As a result, the number of fixed side hydraulic cylinders could advantageously be reduced from four to two. This can be implemented without restricting the function, and the further advantage of this measure is the advantageous use of the limited space inside the surrounding outer frame. The loss side water tank is advantageously pulled into its position by four hydraulic cylinders. In the following, a mold from the prior art and in comparison to this a mold according to the invention is shown in drawings and explained in more detail with reference to the associated descriptions.

The known design of the mold according to the prior art provides, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, that the hydraulic cylinders 3a, 5a with which the water tanks 2a, 4a are moved and clamped in the peripheral outer frame 1a, in the outer part of the frame 1st a are attached. The water boxes carry the broadside copper plates of the mold. For closing and clamping the water tanks and thus the mold plates, pressure forces are built up with the aid of the hydraulic cylinders 3a, 5a, which are absorbed in the peripheral outer frame 1a. The known cylinder arrangement causes pairs of forces to form in the closed, clamped state, one force vector of which is directed outwards, as shown in FIG. 3.
Figure 2 and the sectional view through the clamping plane in Figure 3 shows how the fixed side water tank 2a is pressed against its stop on the bridge element 6a of the frame, while there is a gap between the loss side water box 4a and the peripheral outer frame 1a, which is necessary , because otherwise the loss side water box 4a would not pinch the narrow side copper plates 6. Because the hydraulic cylinders 3a, 5a are arranged on the outside in the O-frame 1a, the water tanks 2a, 4a are pressed into their positions. The fixed side water tank 2a is pressed against the stop by the fixed side hydraulic cylinders 3a; the loss side water box 4a is pressed against the narrow side copper plates 6 by the loss side hydraulic cylinders 5a. Outward reaction forces are absorbed by the outer frame 1a and cause the same to deform.
Wie dies insbesondere die Abbildung Figur 6 im dargestellten Konstruktionsprinzip verdeutlicht.FIGS. 4 to 6 show that the arrangement of the hydraulic cylinders 3n, 5n is changed with the invention in such a way that the water boxes 2n, 4n are no longer pressed into position from the outside, but rather that the fixed-side water box 2n is pressed from the inside in the outer frame 1a z. B. in the bridge element 6n attached cylinders 3n is pulled into position and that the loss side water tank 4n is pulled into position by the cylinders 5n attached in the loss side water tank 4n. How this is particularly illustrated in Figure 6 in the illustrated design principle.
(Figur 6)The fixed-side hydraulic cylinders 3n are now mounted in the inner part of the outer frame 1n and are no longer visible from the outside. In the outer peripheral part of the O-frame 1 n no hydraulic cylinders are now attached. introduced. Figure 5 shows the mold of new design with closed water tanks 2n, 4n. Nothing has changed in the way the overall structure of the construction works: The fixed-side water tank 2n is still in contact with the stops on the bridge element 6n, while the loss-side water tank 4n clamps in the narrow-side copper plates 6, thereby leaving a gap between the loss-side water tank 4n and Maintains outer frame 6n. Because according to the invention the hydraulic cylinders 3n are mounted inside the O-frame 1a and the hydraulic cylinders 5n in the loss side water box 4n, the water boxes 2n, 4n are pulled into their positions and are no longer pressed. The fixed-side water tank 2n is pulled by two fixed-side hydraulic cylinders 3n against the stop 6n. The loss-side water tank 4n is pulled against the narrow-side copper plates 6 by four loss-side hydraulic cylinders 5n, as shown particularly clearly in FIGS. 5 and 6. The reaction forces now directed inwards are absorbed between the components as compressive stresses; they are no longer absorbed by the outer frame 1 n and therefore do not cause any deformation of the same. The number of fixed side hydraulic cylinders 3n could also be reduced, without any restrictive function. (Figure 6)
With the invention, the mold is structurally significantly improved by the fact that the water boxes 2, 4 are no longer pressed into their positions from the outside but are pulled into their positions from the inside. This ensures that the outer part of the circumferential outer frame 1 remains free of forces and deformation. Thus, a lighter, yet much more stable construction can be realized for the outer frame. The function of the mold is advantageously not changed, because in the clamped state a self-contained force system is still formed. The further design features of the mold according to the invention are described in the subclaims.
