Description

The invention relates to a connector housing, particularly for receiving a Pre-assembled cable is suitable.

A prefabricated cable is characterized in that its wires already connected with contacts, which in turn already in an insulating body can be arranged. The pre-assembled cables, for example used to make the cabling of electrical equipment on site, The cables are different depending on the spatial conditions Directions must be guided to the devices. When connecting the cable the insulating body is inserted with the contacts in a connector housing, the adapted to local conditions, for example in terms of Cable outlet direction. The problem with prefabricated cables exists in that due to the already attached contacts and the insulator the Cable not in the axial direction by a cable gland or Cable seal are inserted into an example closed housing can. It is instead necessary to have at least a two-part housing use, the parting line is arranged so that in the open state Cable can be placed between the two housing parts. Similar problems arises with regard to the sealing of the cable in the area of the cable passage through the housing. It can not use a closed seal be, because this can not be pushed over the insulating body. Instead of this must be either a slotted or multi-part seal used become.

The disadvantage of multi-part housings and multi-part or slotted Sealing rings is that a reliable seal against dirt only with special effort is possible, especially if higher IP protection classes to be achieved.

The object of the invention is accordingly a plug housing to create, which are equipped with a pre-assembled cable can and with little effort high demands on the tightness can comply.

For this purpose, a connector housing according to the invention is provided with a first housing part and a second housing part, which along a Abut one another, a cable passage for a cable from the Inside the plug housing to the outside, the parting line in the area of Cable passage runs, and a sealing insert, in the cable passage is arranged, wherein the sealing insert is provided with a slot so that he can be plugged onto a pre-assembled cable, and wherein the Seal insert is arranged so that its slot offset from the parting line is. This design ensures that the sealing insert with a therein arranged cable can be used in one of the two housing parts, where he remains fixed by friction. Subsequently, the second housing part mounted and screwed, whereby the sealing insert so compressed that he seals well.

Das Kabel 8 wird durch einen Kabeldurchgang 9 geführt, in dessen Bereich eine später erläuterte Abdichtung erfolgt.FIG. 1 shows a plug connector which consists of a plug housing 5 consists, in which several plug contacts are included, the here of a surrounding insulating body 7 are covered. In the connector housing 5 into it leads a cable 8, whose wires with the plug contacts in the insulating body. 7 are connected. The cable 8 is passed through a cable passage 9, in the area of which is explained later a seal.

The cable 8 is a prefabricated cable whose wires already firmly connected to the plug contacts in the insulating body 7. From this follows that the connector housing 5 must be opened, otherwise it is not it would be possible, the cable together with the insulating body 7 in the connector housing appeal. As can be seen in Figure 2, the plug housing is to this purpose from a first housing part 10 and a housing part 12, the along a circumferential parting line 14 (see also Figure 7) abut each other can. As can be seen in particular in Figure 7, the parting line 14 is opposite a median plane M of the housing slightly offset to one side. This Offset V is less than 10% of the total maximum width of the Plug housing.

The cable passage 9 is divided by the parting line 14 into two parts, from which are the larger part in the first housing part 10 and the smaller part in the second housing part 12 is located. The located in the first housing part 10 Part of the cable passage 9 (see in particular Figure 4) is U-shaped with a Floor 16 and two side walls 18 executed. On each of the side walls 18 is a projecting web 20 is formed on its parting line of the 14th facing side is provided with a parallel to this end wall 22 and on its side facing the bottom 16 in the region of the transition of Side walls 18 to the bottom 16 expires.

The first housing part 10 is provided with a circumferential seal 24, the runs along the parting line 14 and also through which in the first housing part 10 located part of the cable passage 9 extends. The exposed surface the seal 24 extends in accordance with the contour of the cable passage 9, So jumps in on the webs 20 inwards. In the area of transition everyone Side wall to the parting line 14 is the gasket 24 on each side of the Cable passage 9 is provided with two bias lugs 26 which over the Parting line stand out and on their side facing away from the cable passage 9 side are bevelled.

At the cable passage 9 closes to the interior of the plug housing. 5 towards a cable clamp 28, from the first housing part 10, an abutment 30th is trained.

The remaining part of the cable passage 9 is in the second housing part 12 educated. Again, a U-shaped recess is provided, which has a bottom and has two side walls. Furthermore, in the side walls, as in Housing part 10, webs 20 are provided. In the area of the transition of each side wall to the parting line is an inclined, correspondingly recessed pressure surface 32nd provided for receiving the biasing lugs 26.

For sealing in the region of the cable passage 9 is a sealing insert 34th provided, which consists of rubber. The material of the sealing insert 34 has a higher hardness than the rubber material of the seal 24. The sealing insert 34 sets together from a sealing portion 36, a clamping portion 38 and an intermediate flange 40. The sealing portion 36 is for provided, in the area of the actual cable passage 9 between the two U-shaped depressions in the two housing parts 10, 12 arranged to become. He has, as well as the cable passage 9, an approximately square Cross-section with rounded corners. The sealing portion 38 is intended to be arranged in the cable clamp 28. He has a round cross section. The flange 40 is intended to be in a Flanschaufnahme 42 in the first and to be received in the second housing part 10, 12. He has one too square section with rounded corners.

The sealing insert 34 is provided with a slot 44 in the middle of a the sides of the square sealing portion 36 is arranged. The slot 44 allows the sealing insert 33 placed on the pre-assembled cable 8 can be. On the side of the sealing portion 36, on which the slot 44 are two grooves 46 are provided, each in the range of Start rounded corner and leave it at a sufficient distance Slot 44 ends. In the region of the slot 44 thus remains the wall thickness of the Dichtabschnittes 36 in the usual strength. The grooves 46 are also on the in FIG 5 invisible, lower side of the sealing portion 36 is arranged, so that the Seal insert 34 is symmetrical to two mutually perpendicular planes. The first of these planes passes through the slot 44, and the intersection of the two Plains coincides with the Mittelache of the sealing insert 34 and thus also with the Central axis of the cable 8 together.

To attach the prefabricated cable 8 in the connector housing 5 is First, the sealing insert 34 is placed on the cable 8 by the slot 44 so is bent far that the sealing insert 34 is pushed onto the cable 8 can be. Then, the insulating body 7 in an associated Isolierkörperaufnahme 48 disposed in the first housing part 10, and the cable 9 is in the part of the cable passage 9 located in the first housing part 10 inserted. The sealing insert 34 is thus between the side walls 18th positioned so that the two webs 20 in opposing grooves 46 of the Seal section 36 of the sealing insert 34 engage. The slot 44 is located thereby, since the parting line 14 with respect to the median plane M of the housing and thus also the center of the cable passage 9 is offset, in the area of one of Side walls 18 (see Figure 7). This ensures that the sealing insert 34 despite the slight pressure exerted by the cable inserted into it 8 and which the Slot 44 seeks to spread, correctly and with closed slot 44 in first housing part 10 is prefixed. Subsequently, the cable clamp 28 be completed by a metal clip 50 on the abutment 30 is screwed, which presses on the clamping portion 38 of the sealing insert 34. In this way, the cable can be fixed in the housing part 10. If desired, can with the from the abutment 30 and the metal clip 50th existing cable clamp 28 and a braided shield are contacted, if the cable 8 is a shielded cable.

Finally, the second housing part 12 on the first housing part 10th fitted and screwed with this. In this case, the sealing insert 34, whose Dimensions in the initial state are slightly larger than the dimensions the cable passage 9, slightly compressed, so that he with bias on the side walls of the cable passage 9 abuts. By the angry Pressure is also the slot 44 of the sealing insert 34 compressed, so that There is a good seal there. The good seal is completed by the circumferential seal 24, which on the one hand between the two Housing parts seals and the other, due to the biasing lugs 26 in Combination with the pressure surfaces 32, in the area of transition to Seal insert 34, in particular on the side of the slot 44, seals. To this Way is both between the cable 8 and the sealing insert 34 as well between the two housing parts 10, 12 and finally between the Seal insert 34 and the two housing parts 10, 12 a good seal achieved so that an industrial grade of protection reaches IP65 or higher can be.

According to a not shown embodiment of the invention, the Webs 20 may also be provided on the second housing part 12 to a defined Pretension on the slot 44 can apply.
