Description

The invention relates to an extendable mast construction for a lift truck according to the preamble of patent claim 1 or 6.

Such mast constructions are about DE 197 10 556 C2 known. They have an outer mast, which is mounted on the truck, possibly tiltable. The outer mast has two spaced columns, which are interconnected by a lower and an upper crossbar. An inner mast has spaced columns, which are guided on the columns of the outer mast and which are connected to one another at the upper and lower ends via a cross member or a traverse. At the bottom of a cross member is usually mounted on which the so-called free-lift cylinder is supported, which actuates the load supporting means, which is guided vertically movable on the inner mast. On the outer mast are supported two mast lifting cylinders whose piston rods can be connected to the upper cross member.

Naturally, the mast lifting cylinders move linearly. It must be ensured that the cross member is always arranged horizontally in this adjustment. In addition, there must be no slack in the attachment between the piston rods and the cross member. Tolerances can not be avoided when manufacturing the mast lifting cylinders and when mounting the lifting structure. It may happen that with respect to the stroke of the two mast lifting with respect to the cross member differences of several millimeters occur, which can not be accepted. It is therefore known to make a corresponding adjustment in the prefabrication of mast parts and in the final assembly. Previously, this was used washers, which were used in the attachment of the piston rods to the cross member. A disadvantage of the known construction, that further adjustments can be made only by loosening the piston rods from the cross member. This is time consuming, especially since a double adjustment is required, namely during assembly of the mast and during assembly of the mast on the vehicle.

The invention has for its object to provide an extendable mast construction for a mast of an industrial truck, in which the adjustment of mast lifting and inner mast is simplified.

This object is solved by the features of claims 1 and 6.

In the solution according to claim 1, an adjusting member having an external thread is fixed to the upper end of the piston rod of one of the two mast lifting cylinders, and a socket having an internal thread is screwed onto the external thread of the adjusting member. The bush has support surfaces for the cross member. According to one embodiment of the invention, the adjusting member may be formed by a sleeve which can be fixed by means of a bolt at the end of the piston rod.

According to the invention, the bushing has clamping means for locking the bushing on the bushing after adjustment has taken place. The clamping means may be, for example, that the socket is split and a clamping screw is provided to tighten the separate sections against each other and thus fix the socket on the setting member.

According to another embodiment of the invention, the cross member on bearing portions, which are supported on the piston rod and the socket. The one Bearing portion is hollow and approximately fitting on the upper portion of the socket attachable. The bush has at the end of the upper portion radial shoulder surfaces on which the bearing portion is supported.

For stroke adjustment, for example, both mast lifting cylinders are extended to the stop. One of the mast lifting cylinders serves as a reference, and by adjusting the bush by turning it on the sleeve, the stroke of the second mast lifting cylinder is set equal to that of the first cylinder. Then the socket is clamped. It is understood that this adjustment procedure can also be made up or repeated at any time, without this requiring a special effort. Rather, only the clamping of the socket is to lift and this to turn so far that the strokes of both mast lifting are the same size.

A number of advantages are associated with the invention. It can make an exact stroke adjustment of the mounted mast, both on the test bench and in the vehicle. The time required for this is very small. This reduces the time required for mast and vehicle assembly. The invention also has the advantage that manufacturing tolerances, especially in lifting cylinders, can be made coarser. The funds that are used for this purpose are very simple and manufacture and assembly require little effort.

In the above description, stroke adjustment is provided by a suitable connection between the piston rod of a mast lift cylinder and the cross member. It is understood that such a setting can also be installed between the cylinder housing and the lower cross member of the outer mast, as indicated in claim 6.

The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to drawings.

Fig. 1 shows in perspective a mast construction according to the invention.

Fig. 2 shows enlarged part of the mast construction after Fig. 1 ,

Fig. 3 shows a top view of the mast construction Fig. 1 ,

Fig. 5 shows a section through the illustration Fig. 3 along the line 5-5.

In Fig. 1 a mast construction is generally designated 10. It has an outer mast 12 having two spaced columns 14, 16 which are interconnected by a lower cross member 18 and an upper cross member 20. An inner mast 30 guided on the outer mast 12 has an upper and a lower cross member 36, 35. On the lower cross member 35, a free-lifting cylinder 22 is supported, which raises or lowers a fork 26 via a chain, not shown, and a chain roller 24 on the piston rod. The fork 26 is guided in a manner not shown with the aid of a so-called fork back 28 on the inner mast 30, the spaced columns 32, 34 which are connected at the upper end by the cross member 36.

On the lower cross member 18 mast cylinders 40, 41 are based. Your piston rods are connected to the upper cross member 36, as will be explained in more detail with reference to other figures.

Die untere Fläche des Lagerabschnitts 46 stützt sich satt an der zugekehrten Endfläche der Kolbenstange 50 ab.How out Fig. 1 and 2 can be seen, 36 bearing portions 44, 46 are attached to the underside of the cross member. In the 4 and 5 the bearing sections 44, 46 can be seen more clearly. The bearing portions 46 is fastened by means of a bolt 48 at the upper end of the associated piston rod 50. For this purpose, the piston rod has an internally threaded bore, and the passage 52 through the bearing portion 46 has a constriction as an abutment for the head of the bolt. The end of the piston rod 46 has a pin 54 which engages in the passage 52. The lower surface of the bearing portion 46 is fully supported on the facing end surface of the piston rod 50.

The piston rod 56 of the other mast lifting cylinder 40 (see Fig. 1 ) has the same final shape as the piston rod 50. In Fig. 4 However, it can be seen that a sleeve 58 is fastened by means of a screw bolt 60 on the end of the piston rod 46. The sleeve has a constriction as an abutment for the head of the bolt 60. The sleeve 58 has an external thread on which a socket 62 is screwed. The sleeve 62, whose outer contour may be rectangular, for example, has an upper portion 64 and a lower portion 66. Between the sections 64, 66 shoulder surfaces 68 are formed. The bearing portion 44 has a passage 70 which fits snugly onto the upper portion 64 of the bushing 62 with its end resting on the shoulder surfaces 68.

The socket 62 is also in Fig. 2 indicated. It can be seen that it is split and receives a clamping screw, as indicated at 72. As a result, it can be clamped firmly on the sleeve 58.

During assembly, the connection of the cross member 36 with the piston rod 50 of the Masthubzylinders 52 in the in Fig. 5 shown and described above and Made way. Since, due to manufacturing tolerances of the mast stroke cylinder 40, 42 and other mast parts of the stroke of both mast lifting 40, 42 will not be completely the same, a corresponding adjustment must be made. This is done with the help of the sleeve 62, which is rotated so far in one or the other direction on the sleeve 58 until the desired stroke adjustment is reached. For example, the mast lifting cylinders 40, 42 are moved into the end position, after which the stroke adjustment described takes place. If this is done, the sleeve 62 is clamped by tightening the clamping screw 72. Re-adjustment is easily possible by the clamping screw 72 is released and the sleeve 62 is rotated by the desired amount.
