Definitions
- the invention relates to a multi-component cartridge, in particular a two-component cartridge, according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a multi-component cartridge is known from EP 1 367 003 A1 known.
- Multi-component cards are e.g. for storage and storage of multi-component adhesives, curing sealants, resins or similar used. The mixture of components takes place only when the cartridge is pressed in a separate static mixer, which is placed on the cartridge.
- the commonly used multi-component cartridges have separate material receptacles and a material outlet with a removable closure prior to use. This is removed before the cartridge is squeezed out and can e.g. be designed as a screw cap, zipper or the like.
- the material receptacles are in such cartridges either side by side (side-by-side cartridge) or are designed as coaxial tubes (coaxial cartridge). In both embodiments, the material outlet can be designed as a coaxial outlet.
- one component is pressed out via a centric tube and the other component via an annular space arranged around the centric tube.
- Such coaxial outlets are closed with closures which have special sealing elements.
- the sealing elements are intended to prevent the components stored in the cartridge from escaping during storage or reacting by early contact with one another. So there must be a seal against the outside and a seal against the inside.
- a problem of such seals is that the wedge seal and the face seal is effective only in a predetermined axial position. Once the shutter is opened slightly, the sealing effect can no longer be guaranteed. In general, therefore, the closure must be tightened to exercise enough force on the sealing point. In the case of the surface seal, the force is also distributed over a larger area, so that an additional high force must be used to seal the closure. In the case of surface sealing, capillary effects and consequent leaks must also be expected. Consequently, the closure with the conventional sealing elements to achieve the desired sealing effect must be tightened so strong that partially an additional auxiliary tool is required for opening It has also been shown that repeatedly arise in the known cartridges leaks, resulting in leakage of the components and can lead to blocking of the outlets by reaction of the components.
- the EP 1 367 003 A1 which constitutes state of the art under Art. 54 (3) EPC, discloses a two-component cartridge having a coaxial outlet with an outer outlet tube and an inner outlet tube concentric therewith, a closure releasably connectable with the coaxial outlet, and a seal with two sealing ridges disposed on the closure for engagement with the inner and outer outlet tube.
- the seal includes laterally projecting sealing edges circumferentially disposed on the inside of the inner and outer outlet tubes of the coaxial outlet.
- the object of the invention is to provide a multi-component cartridge of the type mentioned, which allows a simplified and improved seal.
- the closure in each case contains two sealing webs delimiting an annular groove for the inner and / or outer outlet pipe.
- the sealing takes place between the closure and the coaxial outlet via circumferential lateral sealing edges.
- These are integrally formed on the outlet tubes of the coaxial outlet and / or on the sealing webs or sealing elements of the closure.
- the seal is thus carried out over a well-defined and limited contact surface, so that there is a high surface pressure on a small area and thus a high sealing pressure is possible. Since the seal acts laterally, an excessive tightening of the closure in the case of a screw cap is not required. Since the sealing edges for lateral contact with the corresponding mating surfaces, a high sealing effect is possible even without large axial tightening force. If the closure is e.g. designed as a screw cap, the seal is guaranteed even if the closure is not completely screwed. As long as the sealing edges abut the corresponding mating surfaces, a seal is ensured.
- the sealing edges are radially biased. As a result, the contact pressure can be increased.
- these encompassing sealing webs are provided on the two sides of both outlet pipes.
- the sealing edges can be attached to the sealing webs, the outlet pipes or both. But it can also satisfy only a one-sided seal.
- the sealing edges may be attached or recessed at the ends of the sealing lands and / or outlet pipes. To ensure a seal, a sealing edge may be sufficient. But it can also be provided several sealing edges.
- the sealing edge may e.g. sharp-edged or can be provided with a strong or weak curve. Other suitable forms are possible.
- FIG. 1 a so-called side-by-side two-component cartridge is shown. It consists of two parallel side by side (arranged side by side) hollow cylindrical housings 1 and 2 and a coaxial outlet 3 with an outer outlet tube 4 and concentrically arranged in this inner outlet tube 5. Between the outer outlet tube 4 and the inner outlet tube 5 is a annular channel 6 limited, which is in communication with the interior 7 of the housing 1. The inner outlet tube 5 opens into the interior 8 of the housing 2. Thus, the materials located in the interior spaces 7 and 8 can still be expressed separately from each other via the outer outlet tube 4 and the inner outlet tube 5 of the coaxial outlet 3.
- FIG. 2 shows, on the outside of the coaxial outlet 3, an external thread 9 is formed, which serves for the attachment of a known and therefore not shown static mixer.
- the thread 9 also serves to attach a in FIG. 3 shown closure 10, which is unscrewed only before the actual use and prevents the components stored in the two-component cartridge expire during storage or react by early contact with each other.
- the in FIG. 3 Shutter 10 is designed as a closure cap and contains on its inside a male thread 11 of the Koaxialauslasses 3 matching internal thread 11 and annular circumferential sealing webs 12a, 12b, 13a, 13b, the annular grooves 14 and 15 for the outer outlet tube 4 and the inner outlet tube fifth limit.
- the inner outlet pipe 5 protrudes upward relative to the outer outlet pipe 5.
- the sealing webs 13a and 13b of the closure 10 are arranged above the sealing webs 12a and 12b.
- the design of the sealing webs and / or the inner or outer tube to ensure a good and reliable seal will be explained in more detail below.
- FIG. 4 a so-called two-component coaxial cartridge is shown as a further embodiment.
- This one-piece injection-molded plastic cartridge contains two coaxially arranged tubes 101 and 102 with different diameters, wherein the tube 102 is located with the smaller diameter within the tube 101 with the larger diameter. Between the outer tube 101 and the inner tube 102, a radially outer annular space 107 and the inner housing 102, an inner receiving space 108 is limited.
- This cartridge also includes a coaxial outlet 103 which includes an externally threaded outer outlet tube 104 and a central inner outlet tube 105 coaxially disposed therein. Also there, between the outer outlet tube 104 and the inner outlet tube 105, an annular channel 106 bounded, which is in communication with the outer annulus 107.
- the inner outlet tube 105 opens into the inner receiving space 108.
- FIG. 5 shows a closure 110 for the in FIG. 4 shown cartridge, said closure 110 as in FIG. 3 shown closure 10 is constructed. It also contains an internal thread 111 which fits the external thread 9 of the coaxial outlet 3 and annular circumferential sealing webs 112a, 112b, 113a, 113b which delimit annular grooves 114 and 115 for the outer outlet tube 104 and the inner outlet tube 105.
- FIGS. 7 to 12 illustrated embodiments The configuration of the seal between the closures and the Koaxialauslässen the respective cartridges will be described below with reference to several of the FIGS. 7 to 12 illustrated embodiments explained.
- FIG. 3 circled upper part of the inner outlet tube 5 of in FIG. 1 shown cartridge with the associated sealing webs 13a and 13b of the closure 10 shown.
- the embodiments illustrated therein and explained in further detail also apply or may apply in a corresponding manner to the outlet pipe 4 and / or the associated sealing webs 12a, 12b and the other embodiments of cartridges.
- FIG. 7 shown embodiments are on the outside of the outlet tube 5 and on the inside of the radially inner sealing ridge 13b laterally projecting and circumferentially circumferential sealing edges 16, 17 provided for abutment with the respective counterpart.
- a sealing edge 16 for abutment against the inside of the radially outer sealing ridge 13a and on the inside of the radially inner sealing ridge 13b a sealing edge 17 for abutment on the outside of the outlet tube 5 is arranged.
- the sealing edge 16 can also be provided on the inside of the outlet tube 5 and the sealing edge 17 on the inside of the radially outer sealing ridge 13a.
- sealing edges may be present on both sides of the outlet pipe 5 and on both sealing webs 13a and 13b.
- a lateral seal is achieved, whereas in the embodiment shown on the right, an additional end-face seal is also made possible.

Description
In

- In
- In
- In
- In
- In
- In
