Definitions
- the invention relates to the field of functional inserts to be placed in bottlenecks. containers with a view to providing the container with a particular function, namely typically a spout function, or an irreplacability function.
- the invention further relates to capping capsules comprising this type of insert.
- the functional inserts of the state of the art generally comprise fins making sure, given their flexibility, the waterproof fastening of the inserts in the neck.
- Fixing the functional inserts can be done by force fitting the insert into the neck, which is not a problem when the functional insert is attached separately, and when it is adapted to a predetermined neck, and particularly when the neck has a profile called "A", that is to say with significant shrinkage in the axial direction from bottom to top, so that the insert, once placed forcibly in the neck can not come out easily from the neck.
- the fixing of the inserts poses problems when the neck has a so-called "V" profile, that is to say with a significant expansion in the axial direction from bottom to top, so that there is a risk to see the insert, once placed in force in the neck, to emerge from the neck.
- the invention therefore aims to obtain a good fixing of the functional insert to a neck, regardless of the type of profile of the neck, whether "A", "V" or that it is straight, with in addition, greater tolerances on the internal dimensions of the necks, even when the functional insert is associated with a closure cap, and is fixed on the neck during the capping of the neck as if the closure cap did not include functional insert.
- the invention therefore makes it possible industrially to obtain inserts integral with the necks, in spite of the tolerances on the neck and on the insert, even when these tolerances are unfavorable, for example in the case of an insert with minimum dimensions and a neck with maximum dimensions.
- the invention solves the problem of the variety of neck profiles, typically in the shape of "A" - a favorable case for the attachment of the functional insert, or in the form of "V” or slightly flared - case unfavorable to the fixation of the functional insert.
- the invention constitutes a solution not based on a "geometric" order cooperation between pieces to be joined together, but based on adhesion, with a "chemical” order of cooperation between them. parts, which makes it possible to get rid of the precise shape of the neck.
- the invention is also of great interest because the problems posed are solved essentially upstream, at the inserts manufacturer, and not downstream, for example in the cellars where the wines are packaged in bottles, bottles which are then bites finally capsulated, so that capping methods and devices may remain unchanged when functional inserts are used according to the invention.
- Figures 1 to 3 show, for the sake of simplicity, the body (30) of the functional insert (3) devoid of its functional element (6,7).
- Figure 1 on the right side, illustrates a half-section of a functional insert (3) comprising a single fin (31) carrying the adhesive (5), before capping. It illustrates, on the left side, after capping, the cooperation of the same insert in a neck (4), type "A" because making a closed angle ⁇ , the folding of the fin (31) causing the creep of the adhesive (5) and forming an adhesive ring (50) in contact with the neck according to an adhesive contact area (40).
- Figure 2 is similar to the left part of Figure 1. It differs in that the neck is type "V" because it forms an open angle ⁇ .
- Figure 3 is similar to the right part of Figure 1. It differs in that the insert functional (3) comprises 3 fins (31) and in that the adhesive (5) is placed in the throat annular limited by two adjacent wings and the outer surface of the body (30) between these two fins.
- FIG. 4 illustrates the case of a capsule (1) equipped with sealing inserts (2) and functional (3) of the non-refillable type (7), the latter being inserted into a neck (4) threaded.
- FIGS. 5a to 7 illustrate the case of a capsule (1) equipped with a functional insert (3) of pouring type (6).
- said body (30), typically cylindrical can comprise at at least two fins (31), said adhesive (5) being typically placed between the two fins, or on each of them.
- said adhesive (5) being typically placed between the two fins, or on each of them.
- said adhesive (5) can form a ring, so as to form a circular or annular contact area over the entire inner circumference of the neck.
- said adhesive (5) can form one or more discontinuous deposits, so as to form a discontinuous contact zone or not depending on the number of said discontinuous deposits, typically between 1 and 4. It is possible to play, in addition to the diameter of the body (30), on the spacing between fins, and in particular on the flexibility of the fins to reduce the radial distance between said body (30) and the inner surface of the neck (4).
- radial distance which can thus range from 0.1 to 0.6 mm, and thus to obtain a predetermined adhesive contact zone (40) and in particular a surface contact area as large as desired, so as to raise the threshold of axial separation energy of the functional insert (3) at the desired level, the minimum level being that corresponding to the opening of the bottle when the reversible assembly means (20) and (32) separate.
- said adhesive (5) can be a permanent adhesive of the "hot-melt" type.
- the adhesive (5) may optionally be an activatable or crosslinkable adhesive, typically by adding energy, once said insert has been placed in said neck.
- This adhesive may comprise a hardener or activator.
- adhesives capable of creeping under stress for a certain period of time and then typically harden by natural aging after this period of time, this period of time being taken long enough to be compatible with industrial practices. and usual commercial, and thus allow the manufacture of functional inserts according to the invention, their marketing and finally their attachment to the necks.
- these inserts are products with a definite lifespan, as is very frequently found in certain fields, in particular in the food industry or drugs.
- Said adhesive (5) can also be typically in the form of micro-beads which release said adhesive when said functional insert (3) is placed in said neck, or is a activatable adhesive when said functional insert (3) is placed in said neck.
- said adhesive (5) is selected to typically adhere to the glass, or neck material, and wherein said adhesive contact area has a contact area, typically between 20 and 500 mm 2 , so that said insert remains immobilized in said neck under axial stress of at least 0.5 daN, and preferably at least 5 daN.

Abstract
