- Wedge breech lock for a weapon (1) having a weapon barrel (3) which can recoil with respect to a barrel cradle (2) and having a base piece (4) in which a breech wedge (7) is provided which is arranged such that it can move transversely with respect to the barrel bore axis (6) and can be operated by an opener shaft (8), and at least one guide device (12) for guiding a driver (11) which is in the form of a pin is provided on the barrel cradle (2), on the side facing the weapon barrel (3), in order to guide the driver (11) during forward movement of the weapon barrel (3), the guide device (12) has a curved track (15), which rises from an inlet area (14) to a highest point (26) and, during recoil of the weapon barrel (3), has a straight guide track (27), which is located lower than the highest point (26) of the curved track (15) and merges into the inlet area (14) of the rising curved track (15), wherein at least that area of the curved track (15) of the guide device (12) which is adjacent to the inlet area (14) is in the form of a switch for a backward-moving driver (11) in the form of a pin, characterized in that the opener shaft (8) is connected on its side facing the barrel cradle (2) to at least one control lever (10) such that, during the forward movement of the weapon barrel (3), the control lever (10) is pivoted, to which control lever (10) the driver (11) which is in the form of a pin is attached, and the opener shaft (8) is rotated in order to open the breech wedge (7), in which case the driver (11) does not directly result in the breech wedge (7) being raised and lowered but causes rotation of the opener shaft (8), which then itself acts on the breech wedge (7), for example via a gear wheel or lever transmission.
- Wedge breech lock according to Claim 1, characterized in that the curved track (15) comprises at least two mutually adjacent sections (18, 19), wherein the first section (18) of the curved track (15) is arranged on a first part (20), which is directly adjacent to the inlet area (14), of the guide device (12) and is designed such that it can pivot against the pressure of a spring (24) about an axis (22) which is arranged at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the driver (11), which is in the form of a pin, such that, when the weapon barrel (3) recoils, the driver (11) which is in the form of a pin moves the first part (20) laterally away from the weapon barrel (3), and thus enters the inlet area (14).
- Wedge breech lock according to Claim 2, characterized in that the length of the first section (18) of the curved track (15) is at least 60% of the length of the entire curved track (15).
- Wedge breech lock according to one of Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the curved track (15) has an approximately sinusoidally rising profile.
- Wedge breech lock according to one of Claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the curved track (15) is composed of a hardened material.
- Wedge breech lock according to one of Claims 2 to 5, characterized in that the guide device (12) has a base plate (13) to which the second part (25), which supports the second section (19) of the curved track (15), is firmly attached and the first part (25), which supports the first section (18) of the curved track (15), is attached such that it can pivot.
- Wedge breech lock according to one of Claims 2 to 6, characterized in that the base plate (13) as well as the first and second parts (20, 25) of the guide device (12) are composed of cast iron.
- Wedge breech lock according to Claim 7, characterized in that the cast iron is a 14NiCr18 fine cast steel.
- Wedge breech lock according to one of Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the driver (11) which is in the form of a pin is guided during the forward movement of the weapon barrel (3) in a groove-like recess (17), with the lower side wall of the groove-like recess (17) being formed by the curved track (15).
