Claims (10)

  1. A case having an interior that fairly snugly holds a cigarette or cigarillo pack with a flip top, a cover that is pivotal about a hinge integrated into the case and that is complementary to the top of the cigarette or cigarillo pack, a spring element urging the cover to pivot out (open), and a repeatedly releasably and closable latch for the cover,
    characterized in that
    an inner surface of the case is provided with at least one entrainment element (15, 20) which engages and entrains the top of the cigarette- or cigarillo-pack top on opening of the cover (14, 19) whereby the spring element (23) preferably is damped.
  2. The case according to claim 1, characterized in that the entrainment element (15, 20) is either an undercut forming a groove in which fits a lower edge of the top or a pin that engages through the cover (14, 19) or an adhesive surface engaging an outer part of the top or a spring.
  3. The case according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a pivot axis of the case (18) is formed by a hinge with a spiral spring or a torsion bar as spring element.
  4. The case according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in a pivot axis of the case and a joint line between the top and the base of the cigarette or cigarillo pack are coaxial or closely juxtaposed.
  5. The case according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that the height and preferably also the depth of the cover and/or of the base of the case are greater than the height and/or the depth of the pack to be held so that the pack does not slide and/or tip on opening of the cover so as to avoid a kinematic blocking caused by the different positions of the pivot axis and the joint line of the pack.
  6. The case according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized by a damped piston as spring element that engages an inner surface of the cover and the base of the case or by a spring element that is imbedded in an elastically deformable plastic mass, preferably of silicone as damping material.
  7. The case according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the latch (21, 22) is formed of a repeatedly releasable latch or snap closure that preferably is provided near a central axis of the case front side, and/or is formed of a tongue (21) provided on the cover with a bump that in the closed position engages in a recess (22) on a front face of the case body.
  8. The case according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that the interior is so defined between one and preferably two spring-loaded surfaces such that the surfaces bear with spring force variably to fit against different pack sizes.
  9. The case according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the cover (19) and the rest of the case body (17) are injection molded.
  10. The case according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that the surface of the case has carbon fibers.
