Description

The invention relates to a loom for producing leno fabrics according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for cleaning a loom according to the preamble of claim 7.

Baumwolle.More recent generations of weaving machines for the production of leno fabrics, particularly leno fabrics, which serve as the base fabric for carpet manufacture, are operating at increasingly higher speeds. The increase in rotational speeds was made possible above all by the use of air jet weft insertion systems, with which a considerable increase in performance could be achieved. With this increase in performance, the contamination by fiber fly also increased. Depending on the type of warp thread material, in the area of the leno device, more precisely on the elements of the leno device, e.g. on needle bars, deflection elements or guide rails, accumulations of fiber fly. Fibrous formation is particularly extreme when using fiber yarns, e.g. Cotton.

In a weaving machine for the production of fabrics with simple warp yarn systems, such as plain weave fabrics and their derivatives, the warp yarns intersect at each new shed formation, ie the lower warp yarns come up and the upper ones down. By this crossing of the warp threads in the shedding larger accumulations of fiber fly in the shed are largely avoided.

In the production of leno fabrics, in particular of Halbdrehergeweben, which serve as a base fabric for the carpet production, lie in the shed always the same warp threads above or below. The uprights and the leno threads are raised as far as one another after a weft insertion, as it is necessary for the side change of the leno threads. The fiber fly can thus accumulate unhindered on the elements of the leno device. This is especially true for the back of the shed. Larger accumulations, which detach themselves from the elements of the leno device, are additionally enclosed in the area of the shed between the staple and leno threads and can be removed from there only with difficulty.

To avoid clogging in the yarn passages of the leno device, as well as resulting yarn breaks and corresponding longer downtime of the looms, the newer looms for the production of leno fabrics must be stopped as a precaution to remove fiber fly accumulations. This is time consuming and reduces web performance. So-called "overhead cleaners", as known from the prior art, produce an insufficient cleaning effect in the critical areas of the leno device.

US 4,678,012 discloses a cleaning system for weaving machines having a plurality of vacuum chambers arranged at the reed, the shanks and the thread guards to suck out impurities and flyflat at these locations. However, the cleaning effect achieved with such a cleaning system is too low to effectively prevent or eliminate fiber fly accumulations in a leno device.

The object of the invention is to provide a loom for the production of leno fabrics available, which need not be stopped for cleaning the leno device and the shed.
