Abstract

The invention relates to an anti-theft clothes hanger (1), comprising a hook (2) fixed to a central body (3), from which two arms (4a, 4b) extend gently downwards for supporting an item of clothing (V). Said hanger (1) is provided with a cable for threading through a tubular section of the item of clothing (V) and is characterised in that the anti-theft device comprises a first cable (10), provided on the free ends thereof with a ring (11) and a closure respectively, said closure co-operating with a corresponding closing means fixed to the hanger (1) and a second cable (18), which may be introduced through the rings (11) of the adjacent hangers (1) and provided on the free ends thereof with stop pins (19a, 19b), of which at least one (19b) is fixed.

Claims

An anti-theft system that includes a hanger (1) composed of a hook (2) attached to a central body (3) from which two arms (4a, 4b) extend, symmetrically and horizontally or slightly downwards, from the central body (3) when the hanger (1) is suspended by its hook (2) from a support (5) in order to support a garment (V) such as a jacket, trousers or similar, the said system including an anti-theft device composed of a chain or a cable, made from a robust material, connected to the said hanger (1) and capable of being threaded inside a tubular part of the garment (V), such as the sleeve of a jacket or a trouser leg, characterised in that the anti-theft device is composed, firstly, of a chain or a first cable (10), equipped at its free ends with a ring (11) or a loop and respectively a male or female closure (12,13) resource fitting onto a corresponding male or female closure resource (14, 15, 16} attached to the hanger (1), and secondly of a second cable (18) capable of being inserted into the rings (11) or loops of the contiguous hangers (1) and equipped at its free ends with end-stops (19a, 19b), preventing removal of the rings (11) or loops from the second cable (18), at least one of which (19b) is equipped with a secure male or female closure resource (25, 26) fitting onto a corresponding male or female closure resource (21, 22, 23) attached to the free end of the second cable (18).
An anti-theft system according to the preceding claim, characterised in that the first cable (10) includes, at its free end opposite to the end equipped with a ring (11), a male closure resource (12, 13) fitting onto a female closure resource (14, 16) attached to the central body (13) of the hanger (1) and equipped with a key (15)
An anti-theft system according to claim 2, characterised in that the male closure resource (12, 13) of the first cable (10) consists of a cylindrical head (12) that includes a concentric annular groove (13) and the female closure resource consists of a cylinder lock (14) with key (15) extending into the central body (3) of the hanger (1) from one of its frontal faces and fitting onto locking resources (16) of the head (12), the said locking resources (16) engaging in the annular groove (13) of the head (12) positioned inside a generally cylindrical blind hole (17) opening out below the central body (3) of the hanger (1), the said hole (17) being capable of receiving the head (12), and lying perpendicularly to the cylinder lock (14).
An anti-theft system according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the end-stops (19a, 19b) of the second cable (18) consist of bars of a length that is equal to or greater than twice the diameter of the ring (11) or loop of the first cable (10), with the second cable (18) being attached to the middle part of the end-stops (19a, 19b).
An anti-theft system according to claim 4, characterised in that one (19b) of the end-stops (19a, 19b) is composed of a cylindrical bar (20) equipped with a cylinder lock (21) with key (22), lying coaxially in the bar (20) from one of its free ends and fitting onto locking resources (23) positioned inside a generally cylindrical blind hole (24) that lies perpendicularly to the axis of the bar (20), in order to trap a cylindrical head (25) equipped with an annular groove (26), the said head (25) being attached to the free end of the second cable (18).
An anti-theft system according to claim 4, characterised in that one (19b) of the end-stops (19a, 19b) is composed of an upright (7b) of a clothing rack (6) equipped in its lower part with a cylinder lock (27) with key (28) that extends horizontally from one of the faces of the upright (7b) and fitting onto locking resources positioned inside a generally cylindrical blind hole (29) which lies horizontally and perpendicularly to the cylinder lock (27), in order to trap the cylindrical head (25) equipped with its annular groove (26), the said head (25) being attached to the free end of the second cable (18).
An anti-theft system according to any of the preceding claims, characterised in that the first and second cables (10 and 18) consist of cables made from metal wire that will resist high traction forces, and that are fitted with a plastic sheathing.
