Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and a device for supplying a, preferably liquid, additive to a moving, spread web of filter material of the tobacco processing industry by means of at least one applicator member, wherein the additive is supplied via an application surface or can be fed. Furthermore, the invention relates to an apparatus for producing filter rods for rod-shaped articles of the tobacco processing industry.
Of great importance for the quality of the treatment is the good separation of the individual threads or fibers and / or a uniform application of finely divided plasticizer particles in the form of droplets or fine particles.
In
The object underlying the invention is to provide the filter material uniformly with an additive, wherein it should be possible to easily adjust the application rate of the additive to the respective application or the filter material, and wherein the consumption of additive are kept low can and the additive can be applied finely dosed.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that the size of the application surface is adjusted by means of a movable cover member. The invention is based on the idea that the order quantity of the additive can be adapted to the filter material or to the filter to be produced. In this case, the term "application surface" is understood in particular to mean the surface of an (open) region within which the additive is applied to the filter material conducted past the region. Here, the invention provides that the size of this area can be predetermined and varied.
Due to the variability of the application surface, it is possible to both dose the order amount and to reduce the consumption of additive, since the excess is reduced by the filter material not absorbed additive.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the application surface, in particular by means of at least one cover, changed so that, for example. By moving the cover an adjustment of the application surface to the desired order quantity and / or to the width of the filter material strip easily and quickly is achieved. A dry filter removal can, for example, be made by completely closing or sealing off the application surface. In this case, the order area has the size zero. Dry filters are filters without additives. At the same time a promotion of the additive can take place, wherein the additive is not applied by the partitioning on the filter material.
The additive is uniformly applied to the filter material when the amount of additive applied to the filter material per unit of time and / or per application surface is kept constant.
In a further embodiment of the invention, the additive not absorbed by the filter material is derived and / or collected.
Adhesion between filter material and additive is enhanced when charge is applied to the filter material and / or the additive.
A uniform application of the additive to the filter material is achieved by spraying the additive from at least one nozzle onto at least one side of the web of filter material. Preferably, a plurality of nozzles are provided on one side. In particular, the nozzles can be arranged in several rows.
A homogenization of the order on the filter material is carried out when the at least one nozzle is subjected to a constant pressure. Consistent system pressure achieves optimum droplet size and / or velocity of the additive. When using multiple spray nozzles, the sprays may overlap in the form of spray cones or spray patches.
Advantageously, triacetin is applied to the filter material as an additive. Triacetin has proven to be a useful plasticizer and crosslinker in the production of filter rods.
The object is further achieved by a device of the type mentioned, which is further developed in that the size of the application surface is adjustable by means of a movable cover.
Advantageously, the application surface, in particular by means of at least one cover, changeable.
In a further embodiment of the invention, at least one means for discharging and / or at least one collection means are provided for the additive not received by the filter material.
In addition, the invention provides that at least one voltage source is provided for charging the filter material and / or the additive with charge.
For application of the additive to the filter material at least one nozzle is further provided on at least one side of the web of filter material. Preferably, a plurality of nozzles are arranged on one side, in particular in a plurality of rows.
A uniform application of the additive to the filter material is particularly possible if the at least one nozzle can be acted upon by a constant pressure.
To minimize the amount of additive, e.g. To let plasticizers escape from the device, at least one exit barrier is provided.
Excess unabsorbed additive may be recycled to the device if the deriving means is formed as a band member.
Preferably, the collecting means for unadapted additive is designed as a scraping edge and / or as a basin.
Finally, according to the invention, a housing is provided for the device.
The device also achieves the object of the invention by a device described above.
By the invention it is achieved that the plasticizer, e.g. Triacetin, is sprayed evenly on the filter tow. In this case, the amount of additive to be applied is adjusted via an adjustable application surface, whereby the excess not absorbed by the filter material is dissipated. For this purpose, the unobstructed plasticizer can be absorbed by a circulating belt and stripped off by a scraping edge. The application of the plasticizer may be assisted by the application of opposite charges to the filter tow or to the additive.

In the following figures, like elements are identified by the same reference numerals, so that a re-presentation of the respective elements in these cases is omitted.
In Fig. 1, a means 1 for applying a plasticizer, e.g. Triacetin, shown on a
Lechler GmbH & Co. KG, Metzingen, Deutschland. In the lower part of the device 1
The
The regulation of the order quantity of the plasticizer on the
Above the filter tow 2 a
The quantity of plasticizer received by the
