Definitions

  • the invention proposes a smoke evacuation outlet which is arranged on the roof of a building.
  • the invention more particularly proposes a smoke evacuation outlet, of the type comprising a circumferential curb of generally vertical axis which is intended to be arranged in a complementary housing of the roof of a building and which delimits an evacuation channel connecting the interior. of the building with the outside, of the type comprising at least one opening which is movably mounted relative to the curb between a closed position of closing the discharge channel, and at least one at least partial opening position of the duct. evacuation, and of the type comprising at least one windshield which extends vertically upwards beyond an upper edge of the curb so as to extend the evacuation channel upwards, at least on a side.
  • this smoke evacuation function is provided by one or more smoke evacuation outlets which each delimit a channel through which the smoke is likely to exit.
  • a conventional smoke evacuation outlet comprises at least one opening which is articulated between a closed position of the outlet channel in which the smoke can not escape from the building, and an open position of the evacuation channel allowing the evacuation of smoke.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet can also act as an aerator for the building.
  • the opening is likely to occupy an intermediate position in which the opening of the evacuation channel is more or less important.
  • the opening is set in motion between its open and closed positions of the evacuation channel by a cylinder of the hydropneumatic, pneumatic or electric type.
  • the stroke of the jack, as well as the architecture of the smoke evacuation outlet generally limit the amplitude of the movement of the opening which is then generally between 90 ° and 140 °
  • the efficiency of the smoke extraction outlet also depends on external atmospheric conditions. So it is improved in case of wind.
  • the opening when the opening is in the open position of the evacuation channel, and for some wind directions relative to the smoke evacuation outlet, the opening has the opposite effect to that desired because it forms an obstacle to the wind and which generates a localized overpressure at the outlet of the discharge channel which is greater than the pressure that prevails inside the room and which then prevents the evacuation of fumes.
  • the means for controlling and moving the opening generally consist of traction cables whose effectiveness is limited or impossible when the opening angle is close to 180 °.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet with fixed shutters forming a windshield that extend vertically beyond the outer edge of the smoke evacuation outlet. in order to extend the drainage channel, and surround it, in the manner of a chimney.
  • the opening is mobile inside this "chimney" so that it can no longer be a barrier to the wind, whatever the direction of the wind.
  • the wind-shutters are also in an extended position.
  • the efficiency of the evacuation of fumes or aeration of the interior of the building can then be reduced when the opening is in an intermediate position.
  • the invention aims to provide a smoke evacuation outlet that reduces the effect of overpressure created by the opening and allows a subsequent closure of the smoke evacuation outlet.
  • the invention proposes a smoke evacuation outlet of the type described above, characterized in that the flap is mounted movably relative to the curb between a retracted position and a deployed position in which it extends the evacuation channel.
  • a smoke evacuation outlet 10 which is arranged on the roof 12 of a building (not shown).
  • the roof 12 is here horizontal. However, it will be understood that the invention also applies to a smoke evacuation outlet 10 arranged in an inclined roof 12.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet 10 comprises a generally cylindrical curb 14 of generally vertical main axis, and which is here of rectangular horizontal section.
  • the curb 14 is arranged in a complementary housing 16 of the roof 12, and it extends vertically upwards from the upper face 12s of the roof 12.
  • the curb 14 defines an evacuation channel 18 which connects the interior of the building with the outside, thus allowing fumes to exit the building, in the manner of a chimney.
  • FIGS. 1 to 4 show a smoke evacuation outlet 10 which comprises two opposed opposite front and rear mobile openings 20, each of which is movable between an open position of the evacuation channel 18 and a closed position of the evacuation channel 18 (not shown) in which the openings 20 extend generally horizontally by completely covering the curb 14 by resting on the upper end edges 14t, 14l of the curb 14.
  • the openings 20 are arranged on the curb 14 so that the smoke evacuation outlet 10 has a general design symmetry with respect to a median transverse vertical plane.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet may also comprise only one opening panel 20 which is able to completely cover the curb 14 when it is in the closed position of the discharge channel 18, as shown in FIGS. and 6.
  • the choice of the number of openings 20 is determined according to the dimensions of the curb 14, in particular according to its length "L", in order to limit the mass of each opening 20 and to thereby limit the dimensions of the means of driving or setting in motion each opening 20.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet 10 comprises two openings 20, and for smaller dimensions of the curb 14, the smoke evacuation outlet 10 has only one opening 20.
  • the opening 20 is here a flat panel that can be made of an opaque material or a transparent or translucent material, allowing then to achieve a natural lighting of the building. According to a variant not shown, the opening 20 is curved to prevent any accumulation of water or detritus on its upper face when it is in position of closure of the discharge channel 18.
  • the opening 20 is generally rectangular whose long sides are here of transverse general orientation, and its rear transverse edge 20b is articulated relative to the curb 14 about a transverse axis arranged A near a transverse upper edge 14t of the curb 14.
  • the dimensions of the opening 20 are at least equal to those of the discharge channel 18. However, for the closure of the discharge channel 18 is sealed, the dimensions of the opening 20 are greater than those of the channel of evacuation 18 and those of the curb 14.
  • the upper edge 14t, 14l of the curb 14 is extended horizontally outwards by a peripheral collar 21 on which the opening 20 rests to ensure a tight closure of the discharge channel 18.
  • the opening 20 When the opening 20 is in its open position of the discharge channel 18, it must not interfere with the evacuation of fumes by reducing the section of the evacuation channel.
  • the opening 20 and the collar 21 define an angle " ⁇ " which is preferably greater than or equal to 90 °.
  • the opening 20 is able to occupy several intermediate ventilation positions in which the angle " ⁇ " is less than 90 °, so a draft of air is formed from the inside of the building to the outside.
  • the opening 20 is moved from its closed position to the open position by means of a jack 22, a first end 22a is connected to the curb, and a second end 22b is connected 20.
  • the cylinder is here of the oleopneumatic, pneumatic or electric type and it acts on the opening 20.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet 10 also comprises means (not shown) which enable the opening of the opening 20 to be controlled.
  • these control means consist of a winch which comprises a cable of which one end is connected to the opening and whose other end wraps around a drum.
  • the cylinder 22 When the cylinder 22 is a pneumatic or electric cylinder, it can be a single or double-acting cylinder which is controlled by means assembled in a known manner in a control cabinet.
  • the energy required to open the opening 20 comes from a gas cartridge when it is a pneumatic cylinder, or a low voltage electrical source providing a voltage between 24 and 48 volts when the cylinder is of the electric type.
  • the drum can be operated automatically so that the cable can take place when the fire alarm is triggered, without the intervention of a person. It can also be operated manually, which allows the user to manually control the opening of the opening 20 so as to open the discharge channel 18 only partially in the case where the smoke evacuation outlet 10 is used for ventilation of the building. These control means can also be achieved by a network of air or gas under pressure, as well as by a power supply.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet 10 also includes shutters 24 called “windbreaks" which allow, when the opening is in the open position, to partially delimit the discharge channel and extend it upwards, in order to improve the smoke evacuation capacity of the smoke evacuation outlet 10 in case of wind.
  • the flaps 24 extend vertically upward beyond the upper edge 14t, 14l of the curb 14, they then form an obstacle to the wind to prevent it from rushing into the building through the smoke evacuation outlet 10.
  • the flaps 24 are mounted movable relative to the curb 14 between a retracted position (not shown) in which they do not extend the discharge channel 18, and an extended position shown in the figures in which they extend the evacuation canal 18.
  • the flaps 24 are able to occupy their retracted position when the opening 20 is in its closed position of the discharge channel 18. In their retracted position, the flaps 24 are concealed inside the curb 14 and / or of the building, and they do not exceed the upper edge 14l of the curb 14. The flaps 24 then no longer form an external obstacle to wind or weather, which could damage over time, and the debris can not then s accumulate on the opening 20.
  • the flaps 24 are able to occupy their deployed position when the opening 20 is at least in its open position of the discharge channel 18 so that the evacuation of fumes is as effective as possible.
  • the opening 20 when the opening 20 is in an intermediate position, it can be provided that the flaps 24 are in their retracted position or in their deployed position.
  • means are provided for controlling the deployment of flaps 24 and means for moving flaps 24 (not shown) which, depending on the embodiment of the invention, allow flaps 24 to remain retracted. for certain opening positions of the opening 20 and that the flaps are deployed for the other opening positions of the opening 20.
  • the control means of the deployment of the flaps 24 are independent of the control means of the opening of the opening 20, so that the flaps 24 are deployed for example depending on the wind speed or direction, or from a certain temperature inside the building.
  • the flaps 24 can be set in motion by the opening through a linkage, this linkage also allowing, depending on its configuration, to delay the deployment of the flaps 24 relative at the opening of the opening 20.
  • the means for moving the flaps 24 can also be distinct from the means for moving the opening 20.
  • These means for moving flaps 24 may consist of elastic means, for example springs, which are able to relax to cause the deployment of flaps 24.
  • the flaps 24 are held in the retracted position by the control means of the deployment of the flaps 24 which are independent of the control means of the opening of the opening 20.
  • the deployment of the flaps 24 and the opening of the opening 20 can be performed in a predefined sequence so that they are performed at the same time or at different times.
  • the curb 14 is of rectangular or square horizontal section
  • the hinge axis A of the opening 20 is arranged along one of the walls of the curb 14, which here is the rear transverse wall 26b and the opening extends transversely over at least the entire length of the rear wall 26b.
  • the opening 20 when it is in the open position of the discharge channel 18, the opening 20 performs the wind-barrier function along the entire length of this side 26b. It is therefore unnecessary to arrange flaps 24 at the rear wall 26b.
  • the flaps 24 must therefore be arranged at the level of the other walls, that is to say the longitudinal side walls 28 and, when the smoke evacuation outlet 10 has only one opening 20, at the front transverse wall 26a.
  • the flaps 24 must extend parallel to the wall 26a, 28 associated so that their wind barrier function is most effective.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet 10 has a symmetry with respect to a median longitudinal plane, that is to say that the flaps 24 arranged at a side wall 28 are identical to the flaps 24 arranged at the level of the other side wall 28.
  • the flaps 24 are rigid panels.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet 10 here comprises two types of flaps 24.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet 10 comprises first flaps 24 which are connected to the curb 14 of material to be retracted when the opening 20 is in the closed position of the evacuation channel 14.
  • each flap 24 is articulated with respect to the curb 14 about a horizontal axis perpendicular to the plane of the flap 24, that is to say around a transverse axis when the flap 24 is associated with a wall 28 and about a longitudinal axis when the flap 24 is associated with the front wall 26a.
  • this hinge pin is arranged near an end of the lower edge 24i of the flap 24 so that when the flap 24 is in the retracted position, it extends vertically inwards. vis-à-vis the inner face 28i of the side wall 28 of the associated curb 14, and below the upper edge 14l of the curb 14.
  • the flap 24 is articulated with respect to the curb about a horizontal axis parallel to the lower edge 24i of the flap 24, that is to say about a longitudinal axis when the flap 24 is associated with a side wall 28, and around a transverse axis when the flap 24 is associated with the front wall 26a.
  • the flap 24 is slidably mounted relative to the curb 14 parallel to the vertical direction.
  • the flap 24 when the flap 24 is in the retracted position, it extends vertically vis-à-vis the inner face 28i of the side wall 28 of the associated curb 14, and below the upper edge 14l of the curb 14 and as it unfolds, it moves vertically upward.
  • the flaps 24 are made of a flexible material which is adapted to be folded on itself when in the retracted position and is able to unfold. when it unfolds.
  • Each flap 24 then has the shape of an angular sector of radius equal to the length of the opening 20 and opening equal to the angle " ⁇ " delimited by the curb 14 and the opening 20.
  • One side of the flap is then the lower edge 24i, and the other side of the flap 24 is connected to the opening 20.
  • a flap 24 when a flap 24 is hinged about an axis perpendicular to the plane of the flap 24, the latter of generally triangular shape of which a lower side is the lower edge 24i, it is articulated at the level of the one of its vertices whose one side is the lower edge 24i and which delimits an angle " ⁇ " equal to the stroke of the flap 24.
  • the flap 24 when the flap 24 is slidably mounted relative to the curb 14, it is of rectangular shape and of height equal to the stroke of the flap 24.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet 10 also comprises second flaps 24 which are fixed with respect to the opening 20.
  • flaps 24 are carried by the lateral edges 30 of the opening 20 and they extend vertically and longitudinally generally perpendicular to the plane of the opening 20. The flaps 24 are thus movable relative to the curb 14 about the axis A hinge of the opening 20 relative to the curb 14.
  • the flaps 24 extend beyond the upper edge 14l of the curb 14, and when the opening 20 is in its position d ' closing the discharge channel 18, the flaps 24 are in their retracted position extending vertically downwards from the upper edge 14l of the curb 14.
  • the flaps 24 are fixed on the opening 20 so that in the retracted position they are arranged inside the curb 24. According to another embodiment, they are arranged so as to extend to the outside of the curb 14.
  • the dimensions of the flaps 24 are limited by the fact that in the retracted position, the free end 24a of each flap 24 abuts on the roof 12 of the building.
  • the height "h" of the flaps 24 must be less than the height "H” of the curb 14.
  • This flap 24 is rectangular in shape and its mode of displacement can be one of those described above.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet 10 also comprises means not shown which allow the locking of the opening 20 in the closed position. These locking means are generally arranged against the inner face 27 of the front wall 26a of the curb 14, like the flap 24.
  • the flap 24 can be deployed without constraints, it is divided into two parts 32 which are arranged on either side of the locking means.
  • the opening 20 is slidably mounted relative to the curb 14, parallel to a horizontal direction.
  • the opening 20 is able to slide rearwardly to open the discharge channel 18, and it is connected to the curb 14 by means of slides 34.
  • the slides 34 are telescopic slides, which allows them to be concealed between the opening 20 and the curb 14 when the opening 20 is in the closed position of the discharge channel 18, and they allow the opening 20 can reach an extreme rear position in which the entire discharge channel 18 is open.
  • the smoke evacuation outlet 10 comprises flaps 24 which may have any of the designs described above the smoke evacuation outlet 10 here comprises two triangular flaps 24 arranged at the side walls 28 of the curb 14, and a rectangular flap 24 arranged at the front wall 26a.
  • the flaps 24 which are arranged along the side walls 28 may be impeded by the slides 34. As a result, the flaps 24 extend only from the middle of the associated side wall 28 to the front wall 26a. The effectiveness of the flaps is then reduced, however, the slides 34 themselves have a certain height so that they also have a wind-barrier action.
  • the opening 20 When the opening 20 is in the open position, it extends horizontally and does not form an obstacle to the wind so that it does not perform the wind barrier function at the rear wall 26b.
  • the opening 20 carries an additional flap 36 which extends vertically upwards from its front end edge 38.
  • This additional flap 36 is here fixed relative to the opening 20, however, it can be movable relative to the opening 20 so that it deploys to provide a wind-resistant function when necessary.
  • a smoke evacuation outlet 10 which includes flaps 24 in accordance with the teachings of the invention is improved in its effectiveness, while being able to perform other functions such as illuminating or ventilating the building.
  • shutters 24 have conventional shapes that are adaptable to all forms of smoke evacuation outlet 10. It is therefore possible for a building that has a conventional smoke evacuation outlet 10 to add shutters 24 in accordance with teachings of the invention to improve the efficiency of smoke extraction.
