Claims (16)

  1. A cylinder of a rotary printing press, which on the end face of a body (02) of the cylinder (01) has a bearer ring (04), with an external face (07; 12), arranged on a journal (03) of the cylinder, characterized in that the bearer ring (04) is produced in one piece from a corrosion-resistant, high-strength, martensitic cold work steel, the bearer ring (04) has a thickness (d04) of between 20 and 80 mm and is hardened on its boundary layer to a depth of at least 3 to at most 15 mm.
  2. A cylinder of a rotary printing press, which on the end face of a body (02) of the cylinder (01) has a bearer ring (08), with an external face (12), connected to the body (02) in a rotationally rigid manner, wherein the bearer ring (08) is produced in a plurality of parts, comprising, at least concentrically to an axis of rotation (R) of the cylinder (01), an intermediate ring (09) of a steel of lower quality and an outer ring (11), having the external face (12), of a quality different from the said intermediate ring (09), characterized in that the outer ring (11) is produced, at least in the region of its external face (12), from a corrosion-resistant, high-strength, martensitic cold work steel, a ratio of a thickness (d11) of the outer ring (11) to its external radius (ra11) is greater than or equal to 0·1 and smaller than or equal to 0·4, and the bearer ring (08) is hardened on its boundary layer in the region of its external face (12) to a depth of at least 3 to 15 mm.
  3. A cylinder according to Claim 2, characterized in that the bearer ring (04) is hardened on its boundary layer in the region of its external face (12) to a depth of from 8 to 12 mm.
  4. A cylinder according to Claim 2, characterized in that a ratio of a thickness (d11) of the outer ring (11) to its external radius (ra11) is from 0·1 to 0·25.
  5. A cylinder according to Claim 2, characterized in that the cylinder body (02), the intermediate ring (09) and the outer ring (11) are connected to one another in a rotationally rigid manner.
  6. A cylinder according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the corrosion-resistant, high-strength, martensitic cold work steel has a nitrogen content of from 0·2 % by weight to 0·7 % by weight.
  7. A cylinder according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the corrosion-resistant, high-strength, martensitic cold work steel has a carbon content of less than 0.8 % by weight and a chromium content of between 10 % by weight and 20 % by weight, wherein the sum of the carbon content and the nitrogen content is smaller than or equal to 1 % by weight.
  8. A cylinder according to Claim 2, characterized in that the intermediate ring (11) is produced from a non-alloyed or low-alloy steel, in particular a fine-grained structural steel.
  9. A cylinder according to Claim 2, characterized in that the outer ring (11) has a thickness (d11) of at least 20 mm and at most 70 mm, and in particular at most 40 mm.
  10. A cylinder according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the bearer ring (04; 08) is arranged flush and without a separation joint on the end face of the body (02) of the cylinder (01).
  11. A cylinder according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the cylinder (01) is constructed in the form of a cylinder (01) which conveys printing media, in particular which conveys printing ink and/or moisture.
  12. A cylinder according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the bearer ring (04; 08) is arranged on a journal (03) arranged on the end face of the cylinder body (02).
  13. A cylinder according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a width (b04; b08) of the bearer ring (04; 08) is made smaller than 70 mm, and in particular smaller than 45 mm.
  14. A cylinder according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the bearer ring (04; 08) has no lubrication on its external face (07; 12).
  15. A cylinder according to Claim 1 or 2, characterized in that an apparatus for lubricating the external face (07; 12) of the bearer ring (04; 08) is not associated with the cylinder (01).
  16. A cylinder according to Claim 1 or 2 in combination with a scraping means (16) which is arranged on the external face (07; 12) of the bearer ring (04; 08) fixed with the stand with respect to the rotary printing press and the wiping edge (19) of which extends with its longitudinal direction (L) in the plane of the external face (07; 12) in the contact region, but inclined at an angle α of from 5 to 20°, in particular at approximately 10°, with respect to an axis (R') parallel to the axis of rotation (R) of the cylinder (01).
