Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for producing and treating a paper web, in which the paper web is first wound up at the end of a paper machine and then unwound again for a subsequent finishing step comprising a calendering. These may in particular be those methods and devices in which the paper web is smoothed in offline operation, for example in the production of SC-A papers. It may therefore be in particular methods and apparatus for producing satinized paper.
- Drying of SC base paper to a low moisture at the end of the dryer section of the paper machine concerned, for example 2.5%
- Moisturizing the paper web to a high humidity by means of a moisturizer after the dryer section, for example to 9.75%
- Rolling up the paper web at high humidity at the end of the paper machine
- Unrolling the highly damped spool in the calender
- calendering
- Rolling the calendered paper with, for example, a humidity of 5%
The quality of the calendered paper (gloss, smoothness) increases with increasing humidity of the base paper in the calender roll and with increasing temperature and line force in the area of the calender rolls. So far, many calenders are already operating in the border region with respect to the temperature and the line force in the area of the calender rolls, which entails the risk of destruction and relatively high wear and correspondingly short running times of the roll covers. It is therefore anxious to moisten the base paper higher.
A problem that arises here is that if, after the moisture after the paper machine, a certain moisture content is exceeded, in the paper wound on the paper machine considerable winding errors may occur, resulting in increased rejects (reduced efficiency) and runnability and possibly capacity problems Calender has the consequence.
In WO-A-00/03088, this problem is to be solved in that the winding of the material web takes place in the overdried state. The moisture for smoothing is adjusted only after unrolling and before the calender.
The post-wetting, which was previously standard for off-line production of SC paper, was carried out in order to prevent the moisture from passing through the entire web, but only on the top and bottom of the paper web. Otherwise, you could simply drive the web with higher humidity from the dryer section and roll up without rehydration. Moreover, the rewetting was carried out to obtain a better moisture cross profile due to a possible higher humidity.
During storage of the paper rolled up wet at the end of the paper machine, a kind of "ripening" takes place in the drum, which is necessary for achieving the quality of the calendered finished product.
In a number of conventional papermaking machines used in SC papermaking on-line, gloss and smoothness are produced with unsweetened paper, that is, in these cases, no drier is installed between the dryer section and the on-line calender.
The aim of the invention is to provide an improved method and an improved device of the type mentioned. In particular, the efficiency and quality of papermaking in offline operation should be improved.
This object is achieved according to the invention by a method for producing and treating a paper web, in which the paper web is first wound up at the end of a paper machine and then unwound for a subsequent finishing step comprising calendering, the paper web after winding and before the finishing step is moistened so that their moisture is higher immediately before the finishing step than immediately before winding, wherein the paper web is moistened before winding and at most brought to a relative to the winding and / or subsequent unwinding critical moisture, which depends on a predefinable maximum permissible error frequency occurring during winding or unwinding was selected.
The finishing step includes calendering. The paper web is preferably passed through one or more calenders to satinize the web.
Zumindest der Endbehandlungsschritt kann im Offline-Betrieb erfolgen. At least the finishing step can be done offline.
It is also advantageous if the paper web is moistened only after unwinding to the higher humidity.
Preferably, the paper web is moistened only immediately before the final treatment step to the higher humidity.
According to a preferred practical embodiment of the method according to the invention, after the winding and before the finishing step, the paper web is moistened to a moisture selected as a function of at least one quality parameter of the finished paper web which is characteristic of the finishing step. Preferably, after winding and prior to calendering, the paper web is moistened to a moisture selected as a function of predefinable gloss and smoothness values.
Preferably, the wetting of the paper web after winding and before the finishing step by means of at least one moisturizer.
Preferably, the wetting of the paper web before winding by means of at least one moisturizer also takes place.
According to a preferred practical embodiment of the method according to the invention the paper web is moistened after winding and before the finishing step to a humidity of> 10%. The paper web can be moistened overall to a moisture content in the range of 12%.
Before winding, the paper web is preferably moistened to a humidity of <10%. Advantageously, the paper web is moistened before being wound up to a moisture content of <9.7% and preferably to a moisture content of <9%.
According to a further expedient embodiment of the method according to the invention, the paper web is dried before being wound up to a moisture content in the range between 10% and 6%.
In certain cases, it is advantageous if the paper web is dried before being wound up to a dry content of> 97%.
It is also advantageous if the paper web is moistened to a moisture content of at least 6% before being wound up.
The inventive apparatus for producing and treating a paper web comprising a paper machine and a calender, wherein the paper web is first wound at the end of the paper machine and then unwound again for subsequent calendering in the calender, correspondingly comprises at least one moisture through which the paper web is moistenable after winding and prior to calendering so that their moisture is higher immediately before calendering than immediately before winding. In this case, the device according to the invention for wetting the paper web before winding at least one additional moisture is provided by the paper web is wetted at most on a relative to the winding and / or subsequent unwinding critical moisture, depending on a predetermined maximum allowable during winding or unwinding occurring error frequency was selected.
The moisturizing of the paper web, which takes place by means of a moisturizer before the winding process, is limited to such a moisture that no winding defects occur. The moistening to the technologically required content is expediently carried out shortly before calendering by means of a second moisturizer when no critical process is required.
- The raw paper is moistened before winding or reeling only so far that when winding on the end of the paper machine or when rolling on the calender still no winding errors occur.
- The moistening on the moisture content, as it is technologically required, for example, for gloss and smoothness of the finished paper, takes place shortly before calendering with a further device, in particular a second moisturizer.
This eliminates the need to roll up the paper in high humidity conditions.
It is possible, for example, at the end of the paper machine by means of a first moisturizer, to wet the paper web to a moisture content <10% and in particular to a moisture content in the range of 9% and / or the paper web between unwinding or unrolling to the calender and calendering to a moisture content > 10% and in particular to a humidity in the range of 12%.
Basically, a moistening of the web between the unwind and rewind of slitter machines is conceivable, which with a corresponding increase in weight accompanied. By contrast, the goal of calendering is to achieve increased gloss and smoothness values.
Particularly in the case of SC paper production, it is sufficient, from a technological point of view, if a large proportion of moisture is introduced by means of a first moisturizer for the "maturation" mentioned above, and that of the "critical moisture" for winding (for example 10%). ) remainder is introduced by means of a second moisturizer.
The inventive arrangement with, for example, two humidifiers has the advantage that the total moisture can be divided by an appropriate design of the two moistures in any ratio. It is with respect to a moistening prior to winding or reeling basically a so-called "maturation" possible, while no such "maturation" is achieved with the after and preferably immediately before calendering taking place moistening.
As already mentioned, the method according to the invention and the device according to the invention can be used in particular for the production and treatment of satin-finished paper.

- a diagram in which purely schematically various moistures are given, to which the paper web may be expediently moistened before winding.
The paper web is at the end of the
In the diagram in the lower part of FIG. 1, the relative humidity of the
As can be seen from this diagram reproduced in FIG. 1, immediately after the
According to the curve A in the diagram of FIG. 1, the paper web is moistened to a moisture content <10%, in this case for example 9.75%, which is at least substantially maintained up to the
According to the curve B, the paper web is moistened prior to winding to a humidity> 10%, such as 11%, wherein the humidity reached before the winding
According to the invention, the paper web is now so moistened after winding in the winding
With a moistening according to the invention, for example according to the curve C is achieved in particular that the final moisture on the
The
In particular, for economic reasons, a drying up to a humidity in a range between, for example, 10% and 6% can take place before the winding
In the winding nip of the winding
By means of the
Both with a respective moistening in front of the winding
In principle, the use of at least one control loop including the relevant paper quality parameters is also conceivable.
After calendering, that is, after the
For example, drying is possible up to a solids content of> 97%.
As is apparent in particular from the diagram of Figure 2, the
In this diagram according to FIG. 2, purely schematically various moistures are indicated, up to which the
