Definitions
- the invention relates to an optical system for Fresnel spotlights with an ellipsoidal reflector, a lamp and at least one Fresnel lens.
- the photometrically relevant parts in ordinary optical systems for Fresnel lenses are lamp, Fresnel lens and spherical auxiliary reflector.
- the lamp filament is substantially invariable in the spherical center of the spherical auxiliary reflector.
- a part of the light emitted by the lamp is reflected back into this light and supports the light emission in the front half space.
- This forward light is focused by the Fresnel lens.
- the degree of light bundling is dependent on the distance between the Fresnel lens and the lamp. If the lamp filament is located in the focal point of the Fresnel lens, the narrowest light bundling results.
- a quasi-parallel beam path also called a spot
- the opening angle of the exiting light beam is steadily increased.
- a diverging beam path also called flood
- a disadvantage of such headlamps is the poor light output, especially in the spot position, since only a relatively small solid angle range of the lamp is detected by the Fresnel lens. It also affects disadvantageous in that the reflected light from the spherical reflector to a large extent hits the lamp filament itself, is absorbed there and additionally heats the lamp filament.
- the object of the invention is to provide an optical system for Fresnel spotlights with an improved light efficiency, especially in spot, but also in Floodwolf while maintaining the uniformity of illuminance in the light field.
- the object is achieved by an optical system for Fresnel spotlights with an ellipsoidal reflector, a lamp and at least one Fresnel lens, wherein the distance between the Fresnel lens and reflector to the Distance between the lamp and reflector in accordance with the setting of the opening angle of the light beam emerging from the headlight is in a defined dependency.
- an ellipsoidal reflector with a large aperture is provided.
- the spot position is adjusted by the fact that the lamp filament is located in the reflector-side focal point of the ellipsoid.
- the reflected light from the reflector is almost completely united in the reflector-distant focal point of the El lipsoids.
- the lamp filament located in the reflector-side focal point is actually imaged in the reflector's focal point of the ellipsoid.
- the reflected light does not essentially hit the lamp filament.
- the focal point of the Fresnel lens coincides with the focal point of the ellipsoid.
- the light reflected from the reflector is almost completely detected by the Fresnel lens and emitted as a narrow spot light beam to the front.
- the light output is thus considerably larger than in a conventional Fresnel lens spotlight.
- the opening angle of the emerging from the Fresnel lens light beam can be increased almost arbitrarily by the lamp position with respect to the reflector on the one hand and the distance of the Fresnel lens to the reflector on the other hand is changed in a suitable manner.
- these changes in distance must be made by a suitably chosen forced coupling.
- the ellipsoidal reflector is made of a metallic or transparent material. Preferably, glass and polymeric materials are used. To produce a reflective surface, one of the two surfaces of the reflector is provided with a system of thin layers. As a result, visible radiation components are advantageously reflected and the invisible components, in particular the thermal radiation, transmitted.
- a preferred embodiment of the invention is an optical system for Fresnel spotlights, wherein the light-reflecting surface of the reflector is structured light-scattering and no, one or two surfaces of the Fresnel lens are structured in a light-scattering manner.
- An alternative preferred embodiment of the invention is an optical system for Fresnel spotlights, wherein at least one of the surfaces of the Fresnel lens is structured in a light-scattering manner and the light-reflecting surface of the reflector is not structured in a light-scattering manner.
- the use of the optical system is provided in headlamps for film, stage, studio and photography.
- the drawing consists of Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 ,
- Fig. 1 shows the inventive optical system for Fresnel spotlights in spot position.
- the optical system includes an ellipsoidal reflector (1), a lamp (2) and a Fresnel lens (3).
- the emerging from the headlight beam (4) is indicated schematically.
- the distances (a) between the stepped lens (3) and the reflector (1) and (b) between the lamp (2) and the reflector (1) are shown.
- the spot position is adjusted by the fact that the lamp filament (2) is located in the reflector-side focal point (F1) of the ellipsoid (1).
- the light reflected by the reflector (1) is almost completely united in the reflector-distant focal point (F2) of the ellipsoid (1).
- the focal point of the Fresnel lens (F3) coincides with the focal point of the ellipsoid (F2).
- the lamp filament (2) located in the reflector-side focal point (F1) is actually imaged in the reflector-distant focal point (F2) of the ellipsoid (1).
- Fig. 2 shows the inventive optical system for Fresnel spotlights in Flood position.
- the structure corresponds to the in Fig. 1 explained construction of an optical system.
- the opening angle of the light beam (4) emerging from the Fresnel lens (3) can be increased almost arbitrarily by the distance (b) between the lamp (2) and the reflector (1) and the distance (a) be changed between the Fresnel lens (3) and the reflector (1).
- the changes in distance are effected by a suitably selected forced coupling (in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 not shown).
- the lamp (2) is outside the reflector-side focal point (F1).
- the focal point of the Fresnel lens (F3) does not coincide with the refractile focus of the ellipsoid (F2).
