- the present invention relates to a method and to a device for forming leaf groups from a A plurality of sheets, in particular on a method and a device for forming groups of sheets from a plurality of sheets of paper using a paper collator the individual leaf groups collect.
- Paper handling devices are already in the prior art or collection systems known with a merger, a paper merging device.
- a merger is e.g. before or after a cutting machine arranged and works such that this in the direction of the sheet juxtaposed sheets, for example two printed sheets, and the merger papers or sheets lying next to each other and then to a directly connected collection station in which the leaves are collected, so to form the individual leaf groups.
- 11A is such a known paper handling device 900, which is a paper feed device 902, a paper transfer device 904 (Merger), one Collection station 906 and a folder 908 comprises.
- the paper or sheet travel direction i.e. the direction in which the individual Scrolling through device 900 is through the arrow P shown.
- the sheet feeder 902 a paper web 910 is fed into a printer (not shown) printed according to specified data becomes.
- Unit 902 further includes a (not shown) Cutting unit, which the paper web 910 after printing cuts such that two from the paper web 910 Cut sheets 912 and 914 are formed as shown in Fig. 11A is shown schematically.
- the isolated leaves 912 and 914 are transferred from unit 902 to merger 904 passed on this from the side-by-side arrangement merges into a common path.
- the leaves 912 and 914 become the merger 904 to the collection station 906 passed in the received sheets to a stack 916 can be collected. Is in the collection station 906 stored the desired number of sheets or the desired sheet group, so the stack 916 formed is attached to the folder 908, in which the corresponding fold of the Sheet stack is done. Then the stack becomes one further paper processing, e.g. Paste into a Envelope or the like.

- the mode of operation is described below with reference to FIGS. 11B to 11F of the device 900 when merging or collecting of so-called odd leaf groups.
- Odd leaf group means that the one shown in FIG Example the respective sheets, that of a single one Sheet group are associated in the paper web 910 are staggered, i.e. that during cutting the paper web 910 is provided with two sheets, however, these differ for the considered example Belong to leaf groups.
- FIG. 11B shows the initial situation in which a previous sheet group X in the gathering station 906 was collected.
- a previous sheet group X in the gathering station 906 is collected.
- FIG. 11B is located at the entrance to Mergers 904, which are operated in this way can that the adjacent sheets individually can be driven, a sheet from the im previous step created sheets, which for Group A belongs, and which is designated as Sheet A.
- the sheet feeder 902 are at the exit leaves A 'and B not yet completely cut, belonging to group A or group B.
- FIG. 12 is a flow diagram for the system 900, which shows the output times of each Components of device 900 depict odd arranged two-sheet groups.
- 12 is about the x-axis plots the time in milliseconds, and in The corresponding output times are in the direction of the y-axis of the individual components, namely the collection station 906, the merge 904 and the sheet feeder 902, the individual delivery times with the respective Sheets or groups of sheets are provided so as to make clear which leaves are going through which of the individual Components are processed.
- Reference numerals 904 R and 904 L clarify which of the leaves lying in the merger 904 are moved, 904 R that with respect to the device center axis Z in Direction of paper P right sheet and 904 L das with respect to the device central axis Z in the paper running direction P left sheet inscribed.
- the time period to Extending this stack is 150ms. Simultaneously with that Start of the stack X from the collecting station 906 is started, the still attached to the Merger 904 To move sheet A through it, as shown in FIG. 12 (see at 904 L) can be seen, lasts 200ms. Likewise at the same time as the stack X is moved out of the collecting station 906, the sheet feeder 902 operates set to cutting the ones already printed there Paper web into cut sheets A 'and B to effect what Lasts 200ms.
- FIG. 11C shows phase 2, a situation like after 150 ms, starting from the situation in FIG. 11B represents.
- Sheet A is on the way at this point from the merger's entrance to the collection station 906, and the Sheets A 'and B are almost completely through the sheet feeder Cut 902.
- FIG. 11C is removed, the stack X is now already in the Folding unit 908, where a corresponding folding was carried out becomes.
- the further processing of the stack X is for the present case of minor interest, being conventional another handling of the folded stack is done, such as pasting it into an envelope or the like.
- FIGS and 12 described operation The consequence of the use of FIGS and 12 described operation is that from the paper feed device 902, for example the one described above Cutting machine or a sheet feeder can be only then can paper or sheets be fed again, when the collection station 906 issued the previous group has and is receptive again. It follows from this a clock power reduction in odd groups that is 50% for a two-sheet bulk.

Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method and to a device for forming leaf groups from a A plurality of sheets, in particular on a method and a device for forming groups of sheets from a plurality of sheets of paper using a paper collator the individual leaf groups collect.
Paper handling devices are already in the prior art or collection systems known with a merger, a paper merging device. On such a merger is e.g. before or after a cutting machine arranged and works such that this in the direction of the sheet juxtaposed sheets, for example two printed sheets, and the merger papers or sheets lying next to each other and then to a directly connected collection station in which the leaves are collected, so to form the individual leaf groups.
Such a known system is described below with reference to Figures 11 and 12 briefly explained.
In Fig. 11A ist eine solche bekannte Papierhandhabungsvorrichtung
900 gezeigt, die eine Papierzuführungsvorrichtung
902, eine Papierüberführungsvorrichtung 904 (Merger), eine
Sammelstation 906 sowie ein Falzwerk 908 umfaßt. Die Papier-
bzw.
Blattstapels erfolgt. Anschließend wird der Stapel einer
weiteren Papierverarbeitung zugeführt, z.B. Einfügen in ein
Kuvert oder ähnliches.11A is such a known
900 bewirkt. In Fig. 11A, control is also schematic at 918
shown, which are connected to the
The mode of operation is described below with reference to FIGS. 11B to 11F
of the
In
Zeitpunkt von t = 0ms.11B shows the initial situation in which
a previous sheet group X in the
P links liegende Blatt bezeichnet. The following further discussion of how it works
Ebenfalls
200ms dauert.As can be seen from FIG. 12, at time t = 0 ms
with the extension of the already completed stack X
started from the
Blätter A' und B in der Blattzuführungseinrichtung 902, was,
Nachdem
As has already been described above, this takes place simultaneously
with the start of the extension of the stack X forwarding
of sheet A in the
As further shown in Figs. 11D to 11F, the
Time when sheets B and A 'arrive at the entrance of the
The situation shown in Fig. 11F essentially corresponds 11B, however, the group X is replaced by group A, and that in the Merger 904 Sheet is now sheet B.
A 400ms.As can be seen, (see in particular FIG. 12) the total cycle time for forming group A 400ms.
erst dann wieder Papier bzw. Blätter zugeführt werden können,
wenn die Sammelstation 906 die vorherige Gruppe ausgegeben
hat und wieder aufnahmefähig ist. Hieraus ergibt sich
eine Taktleistungsminderung bei ungeraden Gruppen, die 50 %
bei einer Zwei-Blatt-Sammelmenge beträgt.The disadvantage of this known system is that

A relates to the creation of gaps in a continuous stream of leaf articles, e.g. Newspapers to recognize a certain number of successive leaf articles and thus the formation of To facilitate stacking, for example, 25 pieces each. US 3,271,023 A relates to a sheet collecting device for collecting or collating sheet-like material, such as. of pieces of cardboard. In particular, the device solves the problem that pieces of cardboard provided side by side on top of one another if there are no errors Stacks can be output or alternatively in the case a quality defect is issued to separate collection points can be. In this way, there is no need to do so Take out every third piece of cardboard from the stack in the case that a cutting device of one of the cardboard pieces, such as. always the one on the left in the direction of travel, damaged. In the case of error-free pieces of cardboard the same on three different funding channels, the three are arranged on different levels and put it into the stack. Otherwise, through Switching suitable deflection devices achieved that all three pieces of cardboard along the same middle conveying path continue to be issued side by side, so that only the middle piece of cardboard to lie on the stack comes.
Based on this prior art, the present Invention, the object of an improved method and an improved device for forming sheet groups to create what from a plurality of sheets an increase in clock performance when forming the individual Allows groups.
This object is achieved by a method according to
The present invention is based on the finding that that a significant increase in performance in collecting devices for paper, as shown in FIGS. 11 and 12 above have been described in that a stop is inserted in front of the collecting station, whereby this stop for example for a sheet or for two sheets lying one above the other can be provided. By this insertion of the stop point that is able to Transport sheet or two stacked sheets and buffering is achieved that at an odd leaf group (see above) a precursor, e.g. a merger, reopened at an earlier point in time is because the first sheet of the subsequent sheet group in the Stop point (buffer) is stopped.
Due to the arrangement of the stop or the invention retention of a subsequent sheet according to the invention Group is achieved instead of that shown in FIG. 12 Functioning an "overlapping" operation of the individual components can be achieved so that already started providing additional sheets early can be, so that this overlapping mode of operation a considerable saving in the required cycle time to form a group.
According to a first preferred embodiment, the stop point according to the invention between a merger and a Collection station arranged, the sheet feeding device a cutter and a printer.
According to a second embodiment of the present invention is the stopping point between the sheet feeder and the collecting station arranged, with this Embodiment, the sheet feeder such is designed so that these two arranged parallel to each other Picks up paper webs, prints them, from the side by side Arrangement on a common paper path merges and cuts them, so that at the exit of the Sheet feeder the sheets of the to be grouped individual tracks are arranged one above the other.
In a third embodiment, the device designed so that the individual sheets by a Sheet feeding device in the form of a cutting and Printer setup to be created in a subsequent folder, the two sheets in a first paper travel direction be provided side by side, in the next folder be transferred and from this in a second paper direction, which are preferably perpendicular to the first Paper direction is, over the inventive, before the Stop station arranged in this can be moved.
According to an embodiment of the present invention the sheets provided become one in this way Path merged that this either in the direction of the sheet arranged one behind the other, not scaled are scaled, one behind the other in the direction of sheet travel are arranged or one above the other in the direction of sheet travel are arranged.
According to a further exemplary embodiment of the present Invention is in addition to the above stop another stop between the sheet feeder and the merger, which creates another Can improve clock performance since the feed operation now to merger from the operation of the Cutting device is decoupled. This further stop takes up the sheets provided, which has the advantage that with an already filled merger from the paper feed device Accelerated paper fed immediately paper and immediately upon request by the merger can be reloaded, i.e. yourself no unnecessary Loss of time due to the complex cutting operation (approx. 20ms).
The advantage of the present invention is that compared to devices known from the prior art when processing odd groups, the clock output of the Paper handling system can be increased significantly.

In the following description of the preferred embodiments of the present invention are similar or Identical components and elements with the same reference symbols Mistake.
First, referring to Figures 1 to 3, a first Embodiment of the method according to the invention and the device according to the invention explained in more detail.
Blattlaufrichtung P.In Fig. 1A,
102 zwei in Blattlaufrichtung P
An
In the

Funktionsweise der Vorrichtung 100 derart, daß, falls die
durch die Blattüberführungseinrichtung 104 (Merger) überführten
Blätter derselben Blattgruppe angehören, das Überführen
dieser Blätter in die Sammelstation bewirkt wird. Andernfalls

The
In Fig. 1B
In
geschnitten.1B to 1D in conjunction with FIGS. 2 and 3

106 befindliche Einzelblatt A in die Sammelstation 108 bewegt.
Blatt B liegt weiterhin am Eingang des Mergers 104 an.1C shows the situation at the time

komplette Blattgruppe A in der Sammelstation 108 enthalten,
an.In Fig. 1D,
Hinsichtlich der Bereitstellung der einzelnen Blätter durch
die Blattzuführungsvorrichtung wird darauf hingewiesen, daß
anhand der Fig. 1 lediglich ein bevorzugtes Ausführungsbeispiel
der vorliegenden Erfindung anhand von Zwei-Blatt-Gruppen
beschrieben wurde, bei denen die jeweiligen Einzelblätter
versetzt zueinander, d.h. in unterschiedlichen Abschnitten
With regard to the provision of the individual sheets by
the sheet feeder is advised that
with reference to FIG. 1, only a preferred embodiment
the present invention based on two-sheet groups
was described in which the respective single sheets

of the
With a
The
bereitstellen. In the embodiment shown with reference to FIG. 1A

X ausgefahren, was 150ms dauert. Kurze Zeit nach dem
Beginn des Ausfahrens der Blattgruppe X aus der Sammelstation
108 wird begonnen, ein in der Stopstelle 106 befindliches
Einzelblatt A der Blattgruppe A auszufahren, wobei
das Ausfahren aus der Stopstelle 150ms dauert. Gleichzeitig

Mittelachse Z liegende Einzelblatt A' der Blattgruppe A

dauert.
The situation at time t = 100 ms is shown in Fig. 1C.

Gruppe X auszufahren, was 150ms dauert. Zeitgleich
dauert.
Stopstelle 106 anliegt, aus derselben auszufahren, was 115ms
dauert.
und C bereitzustellen, was 200ms dauert.
Zeitlich versetzt
Another embodiment will be described below with reference to FIG. 3

4 and 5, a second is preferred below Embodiment of the present invention closer explained, with only the differences from that 1-3 described embodiments be, and a new description of the already from the Fig. 1 known elements does not take place.
This differs from the example from FIG. 1

Anwendungsfall ab.4A is the device according to this embodiment

bewegt.
At this point, the previous stack X in

In Fig. 5 ist das Ablaufdiagramm für die Ausgabezeiten für ungerade Zwei-Blatt-Gruppen dargestellt, wobei die verwendete Stopstellenlänge hier 165 mm ist, und die Stopstelle, wie ausgeführt, doppelstöckig ist.5 is the flow chart for the output times for shown odd two-leaf groups, the one used Stop point length here is 165 mm, and the stop point, as stated, is two-story.
150ms dauert. Zeitgleich wird begonnen, die am Eingang des
Mergers anliegenden Einzelblätter B und A' in Richtung der
Sammelstation zu bewegen, und zwar gleichzeitig, was 170ms
dauert. Ebenfalls zeitgleich wird damit begonnen, die nachfolgenden
Blätter B' und C durch die Blattzuführungseinrichtung
102 bereitzustellen, was 200ms dauert.
zu bewerkstelligen, was 95ms dauert.
The initial situation is shown at time t = 0ms,
in which the previous stack X is in the
The increases achievable according to the present invention compared to conventional systems depending on the number the forms used and the arrangement of the forms in the paper webs are from the table in FIG. 6 seen. As can be seen, the results for staggered and mixed arranged form groups considerable increases compared to conventional systems. With regard to the Mixed arrangement is noted that this is for Expression means that 50% of the forms are staggered are, and 50% are arranged in pairs. As can be seen increases in the range of 6% to 33% can be compared conventional systems.
In
Fig. 7A ist die Vorrichtung 100 gemäß diesem Ausführungsbeispiel
dargestellt, die im wesentlichen derjenigen aus den
Fig. 1 und 4 entspricht, wobei jedoch zusätzlich zwischen
Another embodiment will be described below with reference to FIGS. 7 and 8

und C, was ca. 150ms dauert.

was ca. 200ms dauert. With regard to FIG. 8, it should be noted that this

The situation shown in FIG. 7C is at time t = 120 ms

At time t = 200 ms, the result shown in FIG. 7D results

zugeführt werden.9A shows the device according to the invention according to the

Fig. 9A gezeigten Vorrichtung anhand unterschiedlicher Betriebsphasen

werden.9C shows

nebeneinanderliegend in Papierlaufrichtung bereitstellt,
Another one is shown below with reference to FIG. 10

In the course of approx. 120 ms, the one shown in FIG. C arises

As can be seen from Fig. 10A, the paper running directions are P1 and P3 are substantially parallel to each other, whereas the paper running direction P2 is substantially perpendicular to the above two paper directions. Other configurations are also possible.
The present invention offers over systems such as they are known in the prior art, significant speed advantages, because by providing the stop between the merger and the merger collection station earlier can be loaded with paper again since the first sheet of a subsequent group in the stop point or is withheld. Another advantage results the fact that another stop at the entrance of the Mergers can be arranged so that at the entrance of the mergers a pair of sheets is always provided, so that on request the merger can be fed directly, without the time-consuming cutting steps first would have to be carried out.
