Abstract

A circuit breaker having a contact arm for rotatably holding a movable element by a movable element pin, wherein the lateral wall of a casing opposed to the front end of the movable element pin is formed with an inclined surface such that when the movable element is in the open circuit position, there is a predetermined clearance between the front end of the movable element pin and the lateral wall of the casing and when the movable element is in the closed circuit position, the clearance between the front end of the movable element pin and the lateral wall is very small. A friction-reducing member is placed on the lateral wall of the casing opposed to the front end of the movable element pin, or the front end of the movable element pin is made spherical. Further, installed between the contact arm and the contact arm pin is a tubular bushing for minimizing the play therebetween so as to prevent the transverse movement of the movable element.
