Description
The present invention relates to oxygen inhaler masks with which a sound recording device is associated and which are used, in particular, by pilots of weapons aircraft.
Such masks are known and one of them will be described in what follows.
Known brands are not satisfactory acoustically when the conditions of use are poor or when operations specific, such as voice recognition, are to be implemented.

The object of the present invention is to improve the masks existing to improve their acoustic characteristics.
This is achieved, in particular, by changing the sound recording to inside the mask.
According to the invention, an oxygen inhaler mask is proposed with sound recording device comprising a flexible cap pierced with an access respiratory and a microphone capsule placed above the access, characterized in that it comprises a horn, in that this horn is mounted in front of the capsule, with its opening facing the location where it is intended that, in the mask, come and position the pilot's mouth, and, considering this position of the mouth, in that the horn has its axis which passes substantially through the commissure of the lips and its opening which is substantially parallel to the lip plane that is to say at the plane tangent to the two lips, just in front of the mouth.

In the different figures the corresponding elements are designated by the same references.
parce qu'elle n'apporte rien à la compréhension de l'invention.FIG. 1 represents, seen from the side, the face of a pilot and,
pressed against this face and seen in vertical section, the
In relation to a horizontal plane which would pass through the commissure pilot's lips, the cap is pierced with a hole, A, 34 mm in diameter located below this plane and includes a housing, 10, for microphone capsule, located above this plane.
The hole A constitutes the expiratory access of the cap, it allows the mounting of an exhalation valve not shown. Respiratory access of the mask is placed on the left flank of the cap.
cylindrique.The
Le montage selon la figure 1 présente différents défauts, en particulier : trop grande sensibilité aux bruits parasites, bande passante réduite et non plate au-delà de 4 kHz, tendance à la saturation acoustique lorsque le pilote parle à haute voix....The assembly according to FIG. 1 has various faults, in particular: too high sensitivity to extraneous noise, bandwidth reduced and not flat above 4 kHz, tendency to acoustic saturation when the pilot speaks aloud ....
In a first implementation of the mask according to the invention it has been proposed to improve the acoustic functioning, while retaining the original cap. For this, in particular, a search for more efficient microphone capsules was naturally but above all the position of the capsule in the cap was redesigned, means have been implemented to concentrate useful acoustic emissions on the capsule and other means have been designed to limit the phenomena that may cause saturation of the capsule and to limit headphone noise such as noise opening and closing of intake valves and valves oxygen and expiration.
capsule microphonique ne se trouve plus incrustée dans le logement 10 ;
passe-haut avec une fréquence de coupure de l'ordre de 100 Hz.Figure 2 differs from Figure 1 only as regards
the microphone part. Indeed the
It should be noted that the axis of the horn, represented by an axis line in FIG. 2, passes substantially through the commissure of the pilot's lips and that the opening of the horn is located in a plane substantially parallel to the labial plane i.e. the plane tangent to both lips, just in front of the mouth; the labial plane is perpendicular to the plane of the Figure 2, its trace in the plane of Figure 2 has been drawn in an axis.
arrête supérieure située un peu au-dessus de l'accès A.To limit the arrival in the capsule of disturbing noises
caused by the opening of the exhalation valve located in
access A, when the user is speaking, a deflector, D, constituted by a
aluminum plate, is interposed between the location of the
A second implementation of the mask according to the invention is illustrated by Figure 3. It is no longer, here, a mask, according to art anterior, adapted according to the invention, but of a specially designed mask for the implementation of the invention.
- the
housing 10 has been reduced in volume and no longer forms a protuberance on the outer wall of the cap; this reduction in volume of thehousing 10 makes it possible to increase the space available towards the bottom of the mask, which allows optimal placement of the microphone assembly in the axis of the mouth and makes it possible to propose removable horns made in different sizes , that is to say in different book heights, in order to position the opening of the horn taking into account the morphology of the lower face of the user of the mask. In the example described, the horn is offered in four different heights between 10 and 18 mm; the objective is to make the distance between the lips and the horn as small as the condition of "non-discomfort" allows, which means that the lips are never in contact with the horn; in FIG. 3, this possibility of choosing between several heights of horns has been illustrated by a first cornet in solid line, adapted to the position of the lips of the user and a second cornet set back from the first and the front of which is drawn in broken line. - six additional lugs, two of which 11 ′ and 11 ″ appear in FIG. 3, have been added; these six lugs have the same shape and the same constitution as
lug 11 and, like him, are perpendicular to the external face of the Thelugs 11 and 11 'are located on either side of the access A; two of the four other lugs are located on the left flank of the cap, on either side of the respiratory access while the last two pins are located on the right side of the cap, in symmetry of the two pins on the left side. of the cap and therefore the disturbances they bring about in the microphone capsule, in particular when the user of the mask is speaking.
The reduction in the volume of
Il est à noter par ailleurs que comme le montre la figure 5c, le cornet a une ouverture de section elliptique dont la plus grande dimension est parallèle à la commissure des lèvres de l'utilisateurThe microphone unit E is practically unchanged; it is necessary note however the addition of an acoustic screen, F, at the level of opening the cone; this acoustic screen consists of a thin stainless steel wire mesh; it should be noted that the acoustic screen can be made, in a conventional way, of foam or fabric but that these materials are less well suited for use in a mask. The Figures 5a, 5b, 5c relate to this microphone set which includes: the horn, referenced C, with the acoustic screen, referenced F, and the acoustic chamber, referenced G, with its front part which constitutes the housing for microphone capsule and its rear part laterally drilled holes. FIG. 5a is a longitudinal view in section of the horn C with the screen F. FIG. 5b is a view, also in longitudinal section of the acoustic chamber G; this figure shows a circular groove, T, which surrounds the chamber G in its front part and which serves as a housing for an O-ring, not shown; this o-ring is intended to ensure a good mechanical connection between the horn and the chamber after fitting these two parts into one another. This solution allows an easy assembly-disassembly, without tools, of the horn, for the operations of maintenance. It should also be noted that, as shown in FIG. 5c, the horn has an elliptical section opening, the largest of which dimension is parallel to the commissure of the user's lips
Bien entendu dans le cas d'un ensemble microphonique à deux capsules la pièce d'adaptation 5 selon les figures 4a,4b doit être modifiée : sa partie inférieure percée d'un trou doit être élargie et le trou agrandi pour que puisse y être introduite la partie arrière de l'ensemble microphonique E.FIG. 5d is a view, in section, perpendicular to the axis of the horn, relative to the microphone set if this set does not have, at the base of the horn, a single microphone capsule but two capsules, 2.2 '; this is possible due to the small size of the capsules used. The two capsules are mounted side by side in a space whose largest dimension is horizontal and parallel to the commissure of the user's lips. Note that the figures 5a, 5b, 5c are the same for a single microphone set capsule and for a microphone set with two capsules; he is also note that in the case of two capsules, each capsule is connected to the on-board electronics by a different pair of wires, this allows, in some applications, to have a spare capsule for the case where the capsule usually used would break down and, in other applications, to dedicate one of the two capsules to a system voice command. Of course in the case of a set microphone with two capsules adaptation piece 5 according to the figures 4a, 4b must be modified: its lower part pierced with a hole must be enlarged and the hole enlarged so that the rear part can be inserted therein of the microphone set E.
croissant.Deflector D has been improved: it is no longer a part
practically flat but a curved piece better suited to its role
acoustic screen. In Figure 3 the deflector D is seen from the side; of them
figures, 6a and 6b, show the deflector again but seen
respectively from above and from the side, with this second side view which
is at right angles to the first and which is taken from the side of the
In the case of Figure 7, with a pilot mask equipped a SILEC S4045 microphone capsule, the signals supplied by the capsule are of a very low level and need to be amplified in a pre-amplifier before being transmitted, via a connection cable K provided with a connector J, to the electronics on board the aircraft; he is at note that the connector used for pilot masks is a releasable connector in the sense that the two complementary sockets, one male, the other female, which compose it, separate in case of strong traction on the connection cable. In the case of Figure 8, with a pilot mask fitted with a PANASONIC microphone capsule WM53, the signals provided by the capsule are of a sufficient level to do not require a preamplifier between the capsule and the cable connection K provided with its releasable connector J.
The present invention is not limited to the examples described but concerns all inhaler masks fitted with a device microphone with horn whose opening is placed in front of the mouth of the pilot.
