Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for printing on paper or plate-shaped Materials such as glass, ceramic, glass ceramic or plastic plates, with a transport device for the plates to be printed and an electrostatic, in particular electrographic, arranged above it Printing device.
- Such devices are known in various configurations, such as the EP O 834 784 A1, EP 727 778 A1, US 5,890,043 and EP 0 647 885 A1 show. With these devices, toners containing ceramic colors can printed on transfer media used to decorate ceramic Articles such as plates, cups and the like.
- Screen printing devices For printing such plate-shaped materials are also common Screen printing devices used, which is a table-like conveyor and centering unit have as a transport device for the workpieces to be printed. An upper unit is assigned to this base unit, which holds one Screen frame and a linear drive for a squeegee.
- Screen printing devices are adequately described in the literature and in their Function known.
- the conveyor and centering unit of such screen printing devices now have a high degree of accuracy, repeatability and reliability.
- the frequent screen change is disadvantageous with changing print jobs, combined with odor (solvent), Solvent residues and residues on screen printing pastes.
- This object is achieved according to the invention in that as a transport device a conveyor and centering unit of a screen printing device with the combined electrostatic, in particular electrographic printing device which is compatible with the upper part of the screen printing device.
- the conveyor and centering unit can be one Screen printing system for both devices with screen printing and electrostatic, especially use electrographic printing processes.
- the electrostatic, especially electrographic pressure device like the upper part the screen printing device can be lifted vertically from the conveyor and centering unit or can be folded up at one end to gain access to the conveyor and centering unit to facilitate.
- the electrostatic, in particular electrographic printing device can be like the upper part of a screen printing device in one Holding frame may be arranged, which is coupled to the conveyor and centering unit and is adjustable relative to this.
- the structure of the electrostatic, in particular electrographic printing device can be designed in such a way that the Electrostatic printing device has an endless belt that over two Rolled out and tensioned is that over the upper run of the endless belt an electrostatic print head with an optical photoconductor roller and developer unit is arranged, and that on the conveyor and centering unit opposite side of the lower run of the endless belt with a linearly guided electrostatic squeegee unit of the toner from endless belt on the to be printed Workpiece is transferable.
- an ultrasonic unit is assigned to the electrostatic doctor unit.
- the toner detachment will be improved.
- the electrostatic, in particular electrographic, printing device can According to a further embodiment, it can also be varied such that the electrostatic Doctor unit is designed as a roller that the endless belt from the from the side to be printed on presses against it.
- electrostatic, in particular electrographic Printing device is characterized in that the too printing workpiece is placed on a conductive plate, and that on the Plate and the electrostatic doctor unit a bias is applied with a control device for adapting the toner detachment is changeable.
- a control device for adapting the toner detachment is changeable.
- the toner detachment can be targeted to the printing distance, the toner type, the Adjust plate thickness and plate material.
- a roller-shaped transfer unit is integrated, which is an electrostatic print head with an optical photoconductor roller and developer unit is assigned, and that the rotational speed of the Roller of the transfer unit and its linear movement over the one to be printed Workpiece are synchronous, then a screen printing machine can be easily Kind and inexpensive in an electrostatic, especially electrographic Printing process to be converted.
- a conventional screen printing device SDE has one Base unit BE and an upper unit OW.
- the base unit BE integrated in a table-like structure 1 a conveyor unit 2, e.g. from conveyor rollers or a conveyor belt and a centering unit 3. These units are used for exact feeding and setting of the workpieces to be printed 14 during of the printing process and are now accurate, repeatable and reliability of the known electrostatic, especially electrographic Consider printing devices.
- the upper section OW has a holding frame 4, into which a sieve 5 is inserted is.
- the holding frame 4 can be lifted off the base unit BE, wherein a vertical adjustment movement or a single-end folding is provided can be.
- Printing paste 7 is applied to the screen 5 by means of a doctor blade 6 through the sieve 5 according to that specified by the sieve 5 Image in a linear movement 8 on the workpiece 14 to be printed on the Base unit is transmitted.
- the linear movement 8 of the squeegee can 6 carried out by means of a known adjusting device or manually become.
- a base unit BE a known screen printing device used in the table-like structure the conveyor unit 2 and the centering unit 3 for the workpieces to be printed 14 has.
- An electrostatic, especially electrographic Printing device EDE is used as the upper structure, which leads to the upper structure OW 1 is compatible with the screen printing device SDE, and also one can have detachable holder frame 4.
- a Endless belt 8 passed over two rollers 9 and tensioned.
- An electrostatic Print head with optical photoconductor roller (OPC roller) 10 and developer unit 11 is linear on the upper side of the upper run of the endless belt 8 adjustable.
- OPC roller optical photoconductor roller
- the workpiece 14 to be printed lies during the Printing process on a conductive plate 15, towards the doctor unit 12 a bias 16 is present.
- a control unit 17 is assigned to the bias 16, to change the bias 16 and the toner transfer dependent the printing distance, the toner type, the plate thickness and the Adapt plate material.
- the doctor unit 12 with an integrated ultrasound unit 18 is in contact with the endless belt 8 and improves the Toner detachment 19.
- the endless belt 8 is preferably smooth Provide surface coating based on silicone or Teflon. For To improve printing accuracy, this endless belt consists of one Low stretch fabric tape.
- the resistance should be by doping or by another layer in the range from 10 k ⁇ / cm to 100 M / cm ⁇ , preferably are between 100 k ⁇ / cm and 10 M / cm ⁇ . Also an aluminum band with a dielectric layer can be used.
- the endless belt 8 can be designed directly as an optical photoconductor and thus the photoconductor roller Make 10 redundant.
- the distance between the endless belt 8 and the workpiece is preferably in the range from 0 to 1 mm. As a result, even slight differences in flatness play, such as they can occur, for example, with glass or glass ceramic plates, none Role.
- the electrostatic doctor unit 12 can also below printing workpiece 14 are arranged. The workpiece lies there 14 on a dielectric plate. The one required for toner transfer electrostatic field is between the doctor unit 12 and the conductive Endless belt 8 created.
- the upper part OW becomes a screen printing device modified such that a roller-shaped transfer unit 20 is integrated into the doctor unit 12 so that it is linear over the printing workpiece 14 can be moved. Roller rotation speed and linear movement are synchronous. The roller of the transfer unit 20 rolls over the workpiece 14.
- the toner transfer is by electrostatic field made with the support of an ultrasonic unit 18.
- Modification consist in that the plate to be printed is linear under the then fixed transfer unit (20) moves.
- the embodiment according to FIG. 2 can also be modified in this way be that the electrostatic doctor unit 12 is designed as a roller of the the workpiece 14 facing back of the endless belt 8 against that Workpiece 14 is pressed.
- the electrostatic doctor unit 12 is designed as a roller of the the workpiece 14 facing back of the endless belt 8 against that Workpiece 14 is pressed.
- there is an automatic sieve lift as it is used in flatbed screen printing devices, to integrate to ensure an even application of paint.
- the base unit BE can also be used Conveying unit 2 and centering unit 3 itself can be designed in a known manner, since this is not of the combination of the device according to the invention Meaning is. It is primarily important that the feeder and Centering of the workpieces 14 to be printed is as accurate and reliable is also guaranteed in the event of repetition.
