Claims (7)

  1. Apparatus for embroidering flat-shaped sewing material on a free-arm or base-type sewing machine (2), said apparatus including a positionable embroidering device (21), by means of which an embroidering frame (27), mounted on the embroidering device (21), is displaceable in the X-direction and in the Y-direction by drives in such a manner that the entire area of the sewing material, clamped in position in the embroidering frame (27), is embroiderable, characterised in that a space adapter (29, 29', 29") is inserted between the embroidering device (21), provided with the embroidering frame drive, and the sewing machine (2), which adapter increases the spacing between the embroidering device (21) and the needle (11) of the sewing machine (2) and increases the sewing area and, hence, the bearing surface for supporting the embroidering frame (27) in the X-direction and in the Y-direction, and in that at least two receiving means (28), which are mutually spaced from each other, are provided on the embroidering frame (27), the embroidering frame (27) being selectively connectable to the drive on the embroidering device (21) at said receiving means.
