Claims (8)

  1. End stop of an opening part (1) of the bodywork of a motor vehicle consisting of a support element (2) of the opening part (10) made from a flexible material and of means of fixing the support element (2) onto a fixation part arranged on one of a fixed part (6) and of the opening part (10) of the bodywork of the motor vehicle, characterised by the fact that the means of fixing the support element (2) are constituted by:
    a support plate (4) consisting of a flat back-up ring (4a) on the fixed part (6) of the bodywork around a through-opening (7) and a shaft in tubular form which is more or less cylindrical, coaxial to the back-up ring (4a), presenting, on one side of the back-up ring (4a) an internal section (4c) intended to be engaged and clipped in the opening (7) of the fixed part (6) of the bodywork and, on the other side of the back-up ring (4a), an external section (4b), and
    a slug (5) which is more or less cylindrical, intended to be engaged inside the shaft (4b, 4c) of the plate (4) including successively in an axial direction, a support head (9), a first part (5a) for engaging and fixing in the external section (4b) of the shaft of the plate (4) and a second part (5b) intended to co-operate with an internal part of the internal section (4b) of the plate (4) in order to effect locking of the clipping of the plate (4) on the fixed part (6) of the bodywork;
    and that the bell-shaped support part (2) includes an internal ring intended to realise clipping of the support part (2) on a clipping part of the external surface of the external section (4b) of the plate (4) and the fixing of the slug (5) in the external section (4b) of the shaft of the plate, in an adjustable position of the end stop (1) such that the head (9) of the slug is separated by an end wall from the support part (2) by a clear space for damping the closure of the opening part (10).
  2. End stop according to claim 1, characterised in that the internal ring (3) of the support part (2) is realised independently of the support part (2) and mounted inside the bell-shaped support part (2).
  3. End stop according to claim 1, characterised in that the support part (2) and the internal ring (3) are realised in a single piece by means of moulding or duplicate moulding.
  4. End stop according to any one of the preceding claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the first engagement part (5a) of the slug (5) is a threaded or corrugated part of the metallic slug and that the second part (5b) is a smooth part of the slug (5).
  5. End stop according to any one of the preceding claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the plate (4) is traversed, in the axial direction of its shaft, by a cruciform opening (8) separating the external section (4b) and the internal section (4c) from the shaft in separated segments which are moveable with respect to each other in radial directions and connected to the back-up ring (4a) of the plate (4) by an elastically deformable part.
  6. End stop according to any one of the preceding claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the support part (2) is made from elastomer and the ring (3) and the plate (4) are made from plastic material.
  7. End stop according to any one of the preceding claims 1 to 6, characterised in that the bell-shaped support part (2) includes, along its open end, a flexible skirt (2b) intended to come to rest against the fixed part of the bodywork, when the end stop is installed, so as to act as a sealing lip.
  8. Method of installation of an end stop according to any of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that one introduces into the opening (7) of the fixed part (6) of the bodywork the internal section (4c) of the plate (4), until it makes the back-up ring (4a) of the plate (4) come into contact with an external surface of the fixed part (6) of the bodywork, the slug (5) being partially engaged in the axial direction in the interior of the shaft of the plate (4), and that the fixing is thus effected by clipping the plate (5) on the fixed part (6) of the bodywork,
       that one positions a template on the fixed part (6) of the bodywork in order to limit the closure of the opening part in a maximum position of closure in use, the opening part (10) and the fixed part (6) being separated by a minimum distance,
       that one realises the closure of the opening part (10) as far as its maximum position of closure in such a way that the opening part (10) or the fixed part (6) come to rest on the head (9) of the slug (5) and assure the positioning of the slug (5) by pushing, in a position perfectly adjusted inside the shaft (4b, 4c) of the plate (5), the movement in the axial direction of the slug (5) assuring the locking of the fixing of the plate (4) on the fixed part (6) of the bodywork, and
       that one engages by pushing, in the axial direction, on a support part (2), the ring (3) in clipping position on the external surface of the external section (4b) of the plate (4), the ring (3) assuring the fixing of the support part (2) on the plate (4) and the locking of the external section (4b) of the shaft of the plate (4) on the first engagement part (5a) of the slug (5).
