Abstract

The method of containing bitumen around a tramway rail involves placing a cover formed by two steel side plates (16) connected by at least one cross spacer (17) which engages on the rail. The cover is fixed in place and its lower section placed in an intermediate layer (27). A rolled layer (30) in placed on the intermediate layer up to the top of the frame. The spacer is then removed and a sealing material poured into place.

Description

The present invention relates to a method of confinement of bituminous mixes in the vicinity of a fixed rail on a base and provided on each side with a border and a flexible anti-vibration seal.

The invention applies in particular to the construction of road traffic lanes in the vicinity tram rails. “Tram” means here everything vehicle guided by at least one rail, whether it is a purely railway vehicle, the wheels of which run on rails generally provided at their top with a groove of guidance, or of a vehicle on tires guided by a rail central.

The object of the invention is to enable the obtaining, in all rail configurations, a layer of bearing whose edge adjacent to the rails is straight and located at a precise level in relation to the top of the rail.

  • (a) on pose sur le rail une coiffe comprenant deux fers plats latéraux reliés par au moins une entretoise transversale qui prend appui sur le rail ;
  • (b) on fixe la position des fers plats et on en incorpore la partie inférieure dans une couche intermédiaire ;
  • (c) on met en oeuvre sur la couche intermédiaire, jusqu'à un niveau prédéterminé par rapport au bord supérieur des fers plats, une couche de roulement ;
  • To this end, the subject of the invention is a process characterized by the following sequence of steps:
  • (A) a cap is placed on the rail comprising two lateral flat bars connected by at least one transverse spacer which bears on the rail;
  • (b) fixing the position of the flat irons and incorporating the lower part thereof into an intermediate layer;
  • (c) a wearing course is applied to the intermediate layer, up to a predetermined level relative to the upper edge of the flat bars;
  • (d) removing the spacer; and
  • (E) the seal is placed on each side, in particular by casting.
The invention also relates to a device intended for the implementation of the method as defined above. This device is characterized in that it comprises a cap consisting of two substantially flat irons parallel whose upper edges are connected by the minus a transverse spacer.

    • Figure 9 is a schematic view in cross section and in perspective which shows another tramway made according to the invention.

Figures 1 to 7 illustrate the realization of a tramway track on tires guided by a central rail 1. The rail consists of a foot 2, a core 3 and a head 4 whose upper face 5 is substantially flat and horizontal, slightly domed in this example. The way is symmetrical with respect to the vertical plane of symmetry P of the rail.

The foot 2 is placed on a base or sill 6 in cement concrete, flanked on either side of an underlay 7 high modulus bituminous concrete (BBME), for example that marketed under the brand name "COMPOMODULE". The face of the underlay 7 is at the same level as that from the base 6.

The next step (Figure 2) consists of laying, on either side of the rail, a rigid edge 9 of concrete cement, fixed to the base 6 by bonding by means of a layer 10 with a suitable adhesive. The positioning of each border 9 is provided by one or more wedges 11 interposed between the head of the rail and the side face adjacent to the border.

The inner side of each border is provided at its base with recesses 12 which receive the rail wedging devices 8. The outer side face 13 of each border is coplanar with the lateral face corresponding to the base, and the upper faces 14 of two edges, which constitute the tracks of the tram tires are at the highest point O of the rail, located in plane P. This is easy to obtain with high precision, because the edges and the base are cement concrete elements.

To obtain similar precision, typically from around 1 mm, on the upper level of the adjacent asphalt concrete road traffic, proceed as follows.

We use a cap 15, shown in Figure 3, consisting of two vertical and parallel flat bars 16 welded to horizontal strips and transverse 17 rigid forming spacers. The slices end 18 of these spacers are in the plans outer faces 19 of flat irons.

As shown in Figure 4, the cap 15 is placed on the assembly consisting of the rail, the two edges 9 and two wedges 11. The dimensioning is such that each flat iron is juxtaposed, with lateral play, on the face lateral exterior of the adjacent border. The middle of each spacer 17 is supported at the top O of the rail, while that its lateral parts rest on the upper face 14 of the two borders.

A vibration damping plate 20 in elastomer fills the space between each flat iron and the adjacent border. This plate starts from the upper level the base 6 or the underlay 7 and extends upwards almost to the spacers 17. It has in its upper part, opposite the flat iron, a line of longitudinal tear 22, for example a notch lateral.

In this way, the upper edge 21 of each iron flat is exactly at point 0, and the irons dishes are precisely positioned in the lateral direction.

The position of the flat irons is then fixed by means of a number of metal brackets 23, one of which only one is shown in Figure 3. The vertical branch 24 of each bracket is attached to the face 19 of the flat iron and welded to it, while its base 25 is fixed to the sublayer 7 by "spittage", that is to say by setting place nails 26 by means of a pistol.

The assembly thus produced is represented in perspective in Figure 5, where the brackets are spaced substantially in the same manner as the spacers 17.

The next step is to implement on the underlay 7 an intermediate layer 27 of concrete high modulus bituminous, similar in composition to that of the underlay, to a level slightly higher than that of the upper end of the brackets 23.

Au-dessous de ces derniers, la couche 27 prend appui latéralement sur la plaque en élastomère 20.So these brackets are fully incorporated in layer 27, as well as the lower part of lateral faces 19 of flat irons. Below these last, layer 27 is supported laterally on the elastomer plate 20.

Next, a structure is placed on the underlay 27 semi-rigid metallic honeycomb 28. This structure, in sheet steel, is as described in FR-A-2 640 297 from the Applicant and is marketed under the brand "METALFLEX". It can in particular have a structure in honeycomb with each sheet arranged vertically, as shown in Figure 7. The end edges of the structure 28 can be welded to the faces 19 of the irons flat, as indicated in 29. Optionally, the structure 28 can be fixed by spitting on layer 27, thanks to perforated legs provided at its lower part.

The layer 30 fully incorporates the structure 28, and, as it is compacted against the face 19 perfectly flat and rigid with a flat iron, it can be made with a very sharp edge 31 and with a level adjusted so very precise with respect to the upper edge of the flat iron, and so compared to the top O of the rail.

Then, the spacers 17 are removed by grinding, the upper part of the plates 20 is eliminated, up to the notch 22, and one flows into the space thus freed a flexible anti-vibration seal 32 made of a material suitable, especially in polyurethane.

After removal of wedges 11, the entire track is as shown in Figure 8. In progress of use, it is noted that the edge 31 does not deteriorate not, and that there is no tendency to crack the wearing course 30 in the vicinity of the flat bars.

The variant of Figure 9 is intended for the construction of railway tramways including wheels run on two rails 1 each provided with a groove longitudinal guide G in their upper surface.

Les éclisses sont par exemple constituées d'une mousse de polyuréthane ayant une densité de 100 kg/m3.Contrary to what has been described above, the track does not have a rigid edge 9, but two semi-rigid ribs 109 arranged on either side of the rail, directly against the latter, and conforming to the shape of the foot, the soul and head of the rail. In the vertical direction, the ribs 109 extend from the upper surface of the foot 2 to an intermediate level of the head 4 of the rail. The fishplates are for example made of a polyurethane foam having a density of 100 kg / m 3 .

The realization of the track uses the cap 15, the brackets 23 and the structures 28 previously described, but in a slightly different way, which is now going to be described.

The rail 1 being placed on the concrete base 6 of cement, possibly with the interposition of an extension 33, the two fishplates are placed on both sides of the rail, then the cap 15 is put in place. The dimensioning is such that the flat irons 16 frame the two fishplates, in direct contact with them.

In doing so, the spacers 17 are supported on the highest point O of the rail, which in this case is offset relative to the median longitudinal plane of the core 3.

Then the position of the two flat irons is fixed by means of the brackets 23, as above, then we coat the latter in the intermediate layer 27.

Next, the structure 28 forming a semi-rigid frame is laid on layer 27 and fixed by welding to flat bars 16 and layer 27, and the wearing course 30 is implemented.

It should be noted that when, as described above, the structures 28 are fixed to the flat bars 16, the use of brackets 23 may become superfluous. In this case the steps are successively, for example in the variant of Figure 9: fitting the cap 15; setting artwork from layer 27; laying and fixing of structures 28; implementation of the wearing course 30; removal of the spacers 17; installation of seals 32.
