Abstract

The device has a compact unit, especially a single housing, containing a fan unit (2) and a control unit (3) with an output for driving the fan unit. The control unit generates a control signal from an input signal indicating a fire to drive the fan to start feeding smoke-free air into the escape route. An Independent claim is also included for the use of several devices in a multi-storey building.
