Description

The present invention relates to an electrical connection cable of the type comprising a bundle of initial conducting wires and a sheath internally delimiting a passage reserved for the installation of conductive wires additional.

Such electrical connection cables are used in airplanes in order to electrically connect different control devices electric. These cables run through receiving housings of the landing gear. They must therefore be resistant to external aggressions, since they are exposed, in these homes, directly to the environment outside the plane. They are then subjected to electromagnetic disturbances and external aggressions. In addition, the cables must be flexible to allow easy assembly and disassembly.

In known electrical connection cables, the harness conductive wires is placed inside a sheath with an inside diameter oversized, so that it internally delimits a reserved passage allowing the subsequent introduction of additional wires.

Additional wires may indeed be required in case installation of new electrical equipment or during improvements to the plane.

The introduction of new wires in the reserved passage delimited by the sheath is a delicate operation, the new introduced threads blocking frequently by mingling with the initial threads. Experience shows that wires cannot be inserted into cables having a length greater than four meters. Also, break boxes are provided, interrupting the scabbard at regular intervals. These break boxes are less than four meters apart. They allow access to circulating wires inside the scabbard.

Elle réduit de plus la protection électromagnétique du câble notamment en hautes fréquences, c'est-à-dire pour des fréquences supérieures à 300 kHz.The presence of switch boxes increases the cost of wiring and makes it difficult to install in landing gear. It reduces by plus the electromagnetic protection of the cable, especially at high frequencies, that is to say for frequencies above 300 kHz.

In addition, the mass of the cable is important given the diameter important of the sheath and the presence of the boxes of clippings.

The invention aims to provide an electrical connection cable for easy addition of additional lead wires to sections of great length and having a reduced mass.

  • le fourreau est délimité par une paroi tubulaire comportant suivant sa longueur des saillies et des creux successifs ;

  • The invention will be better understood on reading the description which follows, given solely by way of example and made with reference to the drawings, in which:
  • Figure 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of an end section of a cable according to the invention; and
  • FIG. 2 is a section view of the current part of the cable in FIG. 1.
In Figure 1 is shown an end section 10 of a cable electrical connection according to the invention. It is provided at its end with a bushing 12 ensuring the mechanical connection of the cable with a wall 14 of a electrical equipment to which the cable is connected 10.

The cable 10 comprises a bundle 16 of initial conducting wires and a sheath 18 internally defining a passage reserved for installation subsequent additional conductor wires.

The bundle 16 of initial conducting wires extends outwardly along the sheath 18. The beam and the tube are held one against the other by a multilayer outer shell 20.

The bundle 16 is made up of insulated wiring wires and possibly shielded, formed of single wires, or of pairs or thirds of wires twisted. These wires are partially distributed around the sheath 18, being concentrated on the same side, as shown in Figure 2. They delimit thus, in section, a crescent moon.

Advantageously, in order to improve the flexibility of the cable, the assembly formed of the bundle 16 of conductive wires and of the sheath 18 is twisted to form a strand. The beam 16 and the sheath 18 then describe propellers nested.

The sheath 18 consists of a corrugated tube. So, it includes, following its length, an alternation of cylindrical sections of distinct diameters. More generally, the sheath 18 is advantageously delimited by a tubular wall comprising, along its length, projections and recesses successive.

Preferably, the internal section of the sheath 18 is greater than 0.25 times the cross section of the bundle 16 of initial conducting wires.

The sheath 18 is made of PTFE (Poly (tetrafluoroethylene)) or PEEK (Polyether (etheracetone)). The envelope 20 providing protection and retaining the bundle 16 and the sheath 18 has an internal taping 22 formed by a PTFE or polyester tape. The ribbon is wound under helical shape with 50% overlap around beam 16 and sheath 18. The taping 22 prevents wear of the conductive wires and allows to ensure their cohesion during the manufacture of the cable, and in particular during the establishment of the other layers of the envelope 20.

As a variant, the ribbon constituting the ribbon 22 is arranged longitudinally around the bundle 16 and the sheath 18, the longitudinal edges tape being attached to each other with an overlap greater than 30 %.

The envelope 20 further comprises, tightened around the inner layer 22, a shielding braid 24, ensuring the electromagnetic protection of the cable vis-à-vis the disturbances encountered in its environment.

The shielding braid 24 is formed for example from round copper wires. nickel plated braided in a manner known per se.

The shielding braid is produced, for example by overstressing. In variant, the bundle 16 and the striped sheath 18 are threaded into the braid shield 24, previously manufactured.

The envelope 20 has on the outside a sheath 26 of mechanical protection. This consists for example of a textile braid or a heat-shrinkable sheath, for example made of NOMEX. The NOMEX is marketed by the company Du Pont de Nemours.

Furthermore, a drawing needle 28 is initially disposed at inside the sheath 18. It opens at its two ends.

La traction de l'aiguille de tirage depuis l'extrémité opposée permet de conduire les fils conducteurs ajoutés suivant toute la longueur du fourreau 18.This pulling needle allows the subsequent introduction of conducting wires extra from one end by attaching these to the needle draw. Pulling the pull needle from the opposite end allows conduct the added conductors along the entire length of the scabbard 18.

As shown in FIG. 1, the connection cable 10 comprises at its end a crossing 12 delimiting a passage 30 for the bundle of conducting wires 16. The bundle 16 and the sheath 18 ribbons enter passage 30 and emerge beyond this. In particular, the sheath 18 penetrates in the said passage and leads into it or beyond it, which allows the introduction of additional conductive wires through of the sheath 18 from inside the equipment delimited by the wall 14.

The mechanical protection sheath 26 and the shielding braid 24 are interrupted on the crossing 12 which they partially cover. Sheath 26 and the braid 24 are electrically and mechanically linked to the bushing 12 along successive staged sections 32, 34 on which they are applied.

With a connection cable as described here, additional wires can later be easily inserted into the sleeve 18 without risk of blocking and entanglement with the original conductors constituting the bundle 16.

Thus, the electrical connection cables can reach lengths of 10 m without breaking box, while allowing the addition of wires additional.

The cable described here has a passage 12 ensuring the connection of the cable to the box of electrical equipment. Alternatively, the cable has a connector and the sleeve 18 then advantageously opens out inside the connector housing.

More generally, the cable has at least one end, a nozzle defining a passage in which, or beyond which, the sheath 18 opens.
