Aus der DE-PS 832 051 ist ein Gerät zum Zerkleinern von Zwiebeln, Obst oder sonstigem Gut bekannt, das einen Gehäusekörper, der an seiner Unterseite ein Messer trägt und ein Oberteil aufweist, welches einen daran befestigten Stempel hat, der im Betriebszustand beim Verdrehen gegenüber dem Gehäusekörper eine Axialbewegung gegen das mitrotierende Schneidgitter durchführt. Mit diesem axial verstellbaren Stempel wird die Frucht durch ein mitrotierendes Schneidgitter geschoben bzw. gedrückt, wobei auf der Austrittsseite des Schneidgitters entsprechende Fahnen oder Würste mit quadratischem Querschnitt entstehen. Diese Teile werden dann von dem hinter dem Schneidgitter angeordneten Messer senkrecht zu ihrer Längsrichtung zerkleinert, so daß Würfel von Zwiebeln entstehen. Dabei kommt es nicht zu einem Pressen oder zu einem Reiben der Frucht, vielmehr wird die Zwiebel zum einen durch das Gitter geschnitten und zum anderen durch das weiter vorhandene Messer in Querrichtung geschnitten, so daß als Produkt feine, geschnittene Zwiebelwürfel vorliegen. Das Schneidgitter zerlegt die Frucht in zwei Dimensionen, so daß Stifte oder Stäbchen entstehen, die dann später von dem Messer in Würfel zerkleinert werden. Der Stempel ist so gestaltet, daß seine Vorderseite eine dem zweidimensionalen Schneidgitter entsprechende Form hat, nämlich aus einer Vielzahl von Zapfen besteht, welche die Zwiebelstücke durch das Schneidgitter schieben. Dabei ist das Messer gehäusefest, während der Stempel und das Schneidgitter drehbar gelagert sind, bevorzugt so, daß sie beide durch ein Bedienteil in Drehung versetzt werden und über die Spindel eine Axialbewegung des Stempels gegenüber dem mitrotierenden Schneidgitter erzeugen.
