Description

The invention relates to a cutting machine for automatic Trimming the top and bottom edge as well as the front edge of brochures individually fed in a continuous process, Magazines and books, each with three movable up and down, interacting with a fixed counter knife, Knives containing cutting elements and the knives assigned pressure bars, and with a transport device, which the brochures cyclically to the interfaces transported and transported after cutting, whereby the cutting elements arranged one behind the other are that at one interface the top and bottom edges of one Paperback and at the other interface the front edge be circumcised.

Cutting machines of this type have long been known and have proven itself in practice. The principle of such Cutting machines are shown in applicant's document US-A-3 148 574 or CH-A-340 479 the year 1959. The cutting machine disclosed here has an up and down movable cutting block with three knives, the two on the direction of movement of the brochures distribution stations arranged one behind the other distributed in this way are that with one knife a front cut and with two others A head and foot cut are made for each knife can. The cutting block, the transport device and movable Stops are with a common drive means connected. Although this cutting machine in individual parts The basic structure has not yet been further developed changed. Such cutting machines are also trimmers or Called three-cutters. They allow automatic Cutting even thick paper products with one performance of six copies per second, for example. The power flow in the cutting machine mentioned is comparative unfavorable and deformations are inevitable. Furthermore, the tax movements are cumbersome and is only one comparatively light pressing force possible. Finally is accessibility is restricted and lubrication is complex.

The invention has for its object a cutting machine of the type mentioned, which create the Avoids disadvantages and which can still be produced inexpensively and is functional.

The object is achieved in a generic cutting machine in that the knives are arranged below the counter knives assigned to them and are driven against the counter knives for cutting from below.
  • All moving parts can be arranged in an oil bath without risk of contamination of the products from dripping oil. As a result, the knife guides can be optimally lubricated with oil, which means that wear and knife play can be significantly reduced.
  • The counter knives can be easily swiveled away with a support, which makes the knives more accessible for changing knives and also reduces the risk of injury.
  • The counter knives can be adjusted more easily than before by horizontally moving a support against the cutting knives.
  • The cutting blades can be removed easily and without the risk of injury.
  • Since no cutting forces have to be transmitted via the frame, a much higher pressing force is possible due to the more direct force flow with a lighter machine frame.
  • Since the yoke for the knives, which was previously arranged above the conveyor belts, is no longer available, the view of the cutting transport is better and this also makes setup easier and faster.
  • Since the fixed edges of the counter knives are on top, the thickness of the products has no influence on the upper belt stroke. This allows the device for the upper belt stroke to be made simpler.
  • Dangerous crushing points in the area of the stops and the cutting transport can be secured locally so that it can be set up without an additional protective hood without the risk of injury.
  • The omission of the yoke for the knives also has the advantage that the overall height can be reduced, for example, by 300 mm.
  • Finally, a duct for chip extraction can be implemented more easily in terms of construction and the comparatively large cover hood previously required can thus be omitted.

Further advantageous features result from the dependent ones Claims, the description below and the Drawing.

Um ein Zurückfallen der Druckprodukte 41 an den Anschlägen zu verhindern, sind gemäss Figur 2 Bürsten 36 vorgesehen, die oberseitig an den Produkten 41 anliegen.FIG. 1 schematically shows a belt conveyor 13 with which Products to be trimmed 41 individually and with a back 41a be fed to the cutting machine 1 in advance. The direction of transport is indicated by arrow 7. For the transport of the products 41 in the cutting machine 1 is one Transport device 6 provided, the lower belts 11 and Has top bands 12, each deflected via rollers 10 are. This transport device 6 transports the products 41 from a first cutting station to a second cutting station. In the first cutting station, the one shown in FIG shown cutting element 14 each performed a front cut. In the second cutting station there are two more Cutting elements 14 'each have a head cut and a foot cut executed. These are further cutting elements 14 ' shown in Figure 2. The cutting elements 14 and 14 'are in essentially the same, the cutting element 14 extends however, transversely to the transport direction 7, while the Cutting elements 14 'are parallel and at a distance from one another extend to the transport direction 7. Each cutting element 14 and 14 'is assigned a fixed counter knife 5. The Transport of the device 6 is of course on those of the belt conveyor 13 matched. For the two mentioned Cutting stations are stops 58 (Figure 5) as well as here Means, not shown, for aligning the products 41 are provided. To prevent the printed products 41 from falling back at the stops to prevent, brushes 36 are provided according to FIG. 2, which are on the top of the products 41.

It is now essential that the three counter knives 5 are fixed to the frame are arranged so that their cutting edge 42 each below and is placed over the product 41 to be cut. The Counter knife 5 are thus each above a cutting element 14 or 14 '. Cut cutting elements 14 and 14 ' thus from bottom to top and the products 41 are each with its top 43 against the counter knife 5. The figure 1 shows this arrangement for the front cut. As can be seen is the cutting edge 42 of the counter knife 5 above and the cutting edge 9 of the cutting element 14 arranged below. For the front cut, the cutting edge 9 is up to Overlap with the cutting edge 42 and movable back again. In Figure 1, the front cut for the product 41 'is already carried out and after the complete withdrawal of the Cutting edge 9 can be used for the front cut with the belt conveyor 13 another product 41 of the transport device 6 is supplied become.

The cutting elements 14 and 14 'each have a bearing housing 30 on that a filling pan with an interior filled with oil 39 forms. In this interior 39 there are one Knife 3 and a pressure bar 4 stored. Each knife is 3 a press bar 4 assigned. Both are in the Directions of the double arrow 44 vertically up and down.

Figures 3 and 4 show schematically the drive for the Stroke movement of a knife 3, which performs the head cut here. A cam wheel 17 is mounted in a machine frame 31 and is by means of a main shaft 19 in the direction of Arrow 45 driven. A carrier 15 of the knife 3 is for Execution of a swing cut stored in the machine frame 31. The carrier 15 is also on a one-armed lever 23 performed, the limited pivotable about an axis 24 fixed to the frame and with a pivot joint 25 with the carrier 15 connected is. Another lever 16 is shown as two-arm angle lever designed and engages with a cam roller 20 into a control cam 18 of the cam wheel 17. The lever 16 is on an axis 21 of the machine frame 31 connected bearing housing 30 pivotally mounted and connected to the carrier 15 by a joint 22. Figure 3 shows the upper position of the knife 3. The curve 18 is like this formed that when turning the cam wheel 17 in Direction of arrow 45 the lever 16 clockwise around the fixed axis 21 is pivoted. The knife 3 with the Cutting knife 8 is thereby down into a predetermined lower position moves. After a rotation of about 180 ° Cam 16, the lever 16 is pivoted counterclockwise and the knife 3 back up to carry out of the cut moves. The knife 3 is thus continuous moved up and down with a swing cut. With each vertical upward movement a cut is made the cutting edge 9 with a cutting edge 42 of a Counter knife 5 works together and this overlaps. The moving parts of the knife drive, in particular the lever 16 and 23 and the cam wheel 17 are here in the Oil that is in chamber 39. Because the cutting knife 8 above this oil bath is a pollution of products 41 excluded by oil drops. The drive for the pressure bar 4 can be essentially the same as the drive for the knives 3 explained with reference to FIG. 3. However, it is essential that one knife 3 and one each Press bar 4 can be formed as a compact cutting element 14 or 14 ' are. The pressure bars 4 are controlled so that exercising a cut the products 41 first against that Counter knife 5 or the counter knife 5 pressed and then get cut. A yoke between the cutting elements 14 and 14 'is not required. This is a very short and positive power flow for the stroke possible.

The main shaft 19 is according to Figure 1 with a cross clutch 60 is connected to a shaft 61 which rotatably fits into a hub 62 of the cam wheel 17 of the cutting element 14 engages. The cutting elements 14 and 14 'are thus driven together. Conceivable are also individual drives.

The counter knives 5 are each mounted on a carrier 32, 33. These carriers 32 can each in the directions of Double arrow 34 shifted horizontally and thereby exactly against the cutting knife 8 can be adjusted. This is in the Carrier 32 incorporated an elongated hole 50 into which a frame-fixed Axis 51 engages, as shown in Figure 5. moreover the carrier 32 are attached to the frame 31 so that they each in the direction of arrow 35 together with the counter knife 5 can be pivoted away from the cutting edge 9. Thereby the knives 8 are easily accessible for changing knives. Carriers 32 also cover and protect the interfaces against an injury.

Due to the fixed arrangement of the counter knives 5 above the products 41 the thickness of these products 41 has no influence to the position of the upper belts 12. These therefore do not have to as before to take into account the thickness of the products 41 be vertically adjustable. The one for the interruption of the Transport necessary stroke of the upper belts 12 can therefore be comparatively simple. Devices for Exercise of the upper belt stroke, as well as suitable belt drives and controls are known to the person skilled in the art and are therefore not explained in detail here.

The lower belts are to adapt to the thickness of the products 41 11 mounted on a device not shown here, that they are vertical in the direction of the double arrow 47 (Figure 1) are adjustable. Such adjustment devices are Those skilled in the art are known per se and are therefore not described in more detail here explained. The separation of this adjustability from the upper stroke the upper bands 12, however, means an essential constructive Simplification. So far, both functions had to be integrated into the Upper bands 12 are integrated.

The cutting blades 8 are each interchangeable by means of a Fastening screw 52 attached to the carrier 15. Like the figure 5 shows, the fastening screw 52 engages in a threaded bore 53 of the cutting knife 8 and is on her Head supported on a plate 54. To replace the Cutting knife 8, the carrier 32 in that shown in Figure 5 Position swung away and the fastening screw 52 as far screwed out of the threaded bore 53 until the cutting knife 8 can be lifted from the knife carrier 15. Corresponding can use a new cutting knife 8 in a simple manner the screw 52 are attached to the carrier 32. The carrier 32 also has a suction channel 55, which extends along the Cutting knife 8 extends and to a not shown here Suction device is connected. To seal the channel 55, a plate 56 is attached to the bearing housing 30. is the carrier 32 with a tension screw 57 according to FIG. 2 attached to the bearing housing 30, so arrive at each cut the sections not shown here in the channel 55 and transported away in this.
