Description

The invention relates to a grinding device with an oscillating drive of a grinding tool to a device fixed drive axis, wherein the center of the pivoting movement in the drive axis, and wherein the grinding tool has a grinding plate with at least two preferably convexly outwardly curved side edges converge in at least one corner , and wherein the grinding plate has an eccentrically arranged on the grinding plate receptacle for attachment to the drive axle.

Ein derartiges Schleifgerät ist aus der US-A-5 491 896 bekannt.Such a sander is known from US-A-5,491,896.

The known grinding tool has a grinding plate which tapers towards one end and is rounded at the opposite end. This grinding plate can be connected by means of a plurality of mounting holes in different positions with a receptacle which is driven to oscillate. The grinding tool thereby performs oscillatory movements, which are formed as approximately linear reciprocating movements transversely to the longitudinal axis of the grinding device. According to a variant shown only in the drawing, the oscillation of the grinding plate should apparently be oscillated back and forth about a device-fixed pivot axis, without, however, explaining this embodiment in detail.

Basically, either the occurrence of strong vibrations to fear or the grinding performance is relatively low with the known grinder.

Another grinding tool known from EP-B-0 244 465 has an oscillation drive by means of which a drive axle is pivoted back and forth at high frequency and with a low pivoting angle. The grinding tool is connected in the middle of its preferably triangular shaped with convex outwardly curved side edges grinding surface with the drive axis. The grinding tool thus performs a pivoting movement about the drive axis, wherein the center of the pivoting movement is in the drive axle. Thus, the corner areas undergo the strongest deflection, being swung back and forth on circular segments. Also at the preferably outwardly convex curved side edges results in such a movement. In the center of the grinding tool, in which this is centrally connected to the drive axle, the grinding action is extremely low, since here the individual abrasive particles on the grinding tool travel only extremely small distances, with practically only a back and forth rotation takes place around the axis in the middle ,

The known grinder has proven to be extremely advantageous to perform difficult grinding or polishing work in hard to reach places, which can be worked through the nature of the drive and by the movement of the grinding tool particularly advantageous along the inner longitudinal edges to corner areas.

As a certain disadvantage, it has been found that the grinding action mainly limited to the side edges and the corner regions of the grinding tool, but that in the center of the grinding tool, virtually no or only a very small abrasive effect occurs. This results in that the grinding tools or the sandpaper pieces which are usually detachably fastened thereto must be replaced frequently, since heavy wear occurs at the edge regions, while, however, the respective abrasives are only slightly worn in the central regions. Nevertheless, in such a grinding tool grinding work on poorly accessible places can perform extremely beneficial, this incorrect grinding effect in the central region of the grinding tool is considered by some users to be disadvantageous, so that the grinder is less used for surface work.

The invention is therefore an object of the invention to improve a grinding device according to the aforementioned type such that the abrasive effect is increased in the central region of the grinding tool, with a working along the inner longitudinal edges, however, should still be possible.

The object of the invention is achieved in a grinding apparatus according to claim 1.

The object of the invention is completely solved in this way.

According to the invention, a particularly high grinding performance is ensured by the oscillating drive of the grinding device to a device-fixed pivot axis with a pivot angle between 0.5 and 7 ° and with a frequency greater than 5000 vibrations / minute. At the same time is characterized in that the grinding plate is connected via a slot with the drive axle, an optimal adaptation to the respective grinding task allows, so that vibrations can be largely avoided and at the same time the highest possible grinding performance is guaranteed.

The fastener may in this case be formed, for example, as a screw which can be screwed into a threaded blind hole of the drive axle.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the grinding plate is triangular in shape and has convex outwardly curved side edges.

In particular, in connection with this already known form of grinding tool results in a particularly advantageous sequence of movements, in particular, a particularly low-vibration working is made possible along inner longitudinal edges.

Further features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the following description of preferred embodiments with reference to the drawings. Show it:
Fig. 1
a partial side view of a grinding device according to the invention in the front region of the housing with the drive shaft and an attached grinding tool in a partially sectioned view;
Fig. 2
a plan view of the grinding tool of FIG. 1 from above.

The grinding apparatus 10 shown in FIG. 1 has a housing 12, in which an electromotive drive is accommodated, whose rotational movement in a known manner via an oscillating drive into a reciprocating pivoting movement of a drive shaft 16 with a low pivoting angle in the order of about 0, 5 to 7 ° and is reacted at a relatively high frequency, which is preferably greater than 5,000 cycles / minute, and may possibly be adjustable in a range between 10,000 and 25,000 vibrations / minute.

The outer end of the drive shaft 16 is widened by a flange 18, to which a triangular grinding tool 22 by means of a generally designated by the numeral 25 recording, which is located outside the geometric center of the grinding tool 22, can be attached.

Apart from the eccentric arrangement of the receptacle 25, the structure of the grinding tool 22 is known per se. Namely, the grinding tool 22 comprises a grinding plate designated as a whole by the numeral 24, on whose underside remote from the drive axis 16 either an abrasive material can be applied directly, which is the case, for example, with diamond-coated grinding plates. On the other hand, the underside of the grinding plate 24 may also, as shown in the drawing, be provided with a Velcro material 32 so that the Sanding plate 24, an abrasive, such as an abrasive paper piece, which is provided at its top with a suitable fabric material, can be easily pressed so as to allow an easily detachable connection between a releasable abrasive and the grinding plate 24. Depending on the desired application, therefore, the grinding tool 22 consists either of grinding plate 24 with abrasive coating on the underside or of grinding plate 24 and associated abrasive that can be releasably attached to the underside of the grinding plate. It is understood that instead of a connection possibility by means of a hook and loop fastener, for example, an adhesive connection with a releasable adhesive tape can be considered.

The abrasive plate 24 has on its upper side a flat aluminum support 30, which is connected via an intermediate layer of plastic foam 28 with the Velcro material 32, which is accommodated on a suitable plastic layer.

The grinding device according to the invention now differs from a grinding device according to the prior art by the receptacle 25, which is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.

The receptacle 25 has in this embodiment, a slot 26 which extends from the geometric center I of the grinding plate 24 on an imaginary connecting line to the opposite corner 42 in the direction of the adjacent side edge 41 out. Through this slot 26, a fastener in the form of a screw 38 by a washer 36 with its thread 34 in a threaded blind hole 20 of Drive axle 16 are screwed. Characterized in that the attachment opening is formed as a slot 26, so the geometric location of the connection between the grinding plate 24 and the drive axle 16 can be adjusted, so move from the geometric center I out to a remote from the opposite corner 42 end position II, if the greatest possible deflection in the opposite corner region 42 and a stronger abrasive action in the middle region is desired, or else to shift in the direction of the opposite corner 42 to position III, in order to achieve a lower abrasive effect in the region of the opposite corner 42.

If one considers the sequence of movements which results when the grinding plate 24 is connected to the drive axle 16 at the position II, an increased deflection in the region of the corner resulting from the greater distance from the center of the rotary movement to the opposite corner 42 results, which in FIG 2 is indicated by the arrow 44. In the area of the two adjacent corners 52, 54, on the other hand, lower deflections result due to the smaller distance to the center of the rotational movement, which is indicated in FIG. 2 by the number II. This is illustrated by the somewhat shorter double arrow 46 in FIG. 2.

At the regions of the sanding plate 24 along the side edges 40, 43, which enclose the corner 42, slightly different components of movement result, depending on the distance from the center II of the rotary movement. Along the side edge 40, for example, an abrasive particle located at a location leading from the far corner 42 further toward the center II the rotational movement closer corner 52 is offset, a pivoting movement on a circular segment, which extends approximately in the direction of the side edge 40, as indicated by the double arrow 48. Considering an abrasive particle which, from this point, is in a position farther towards the far corner 42, a pivoting movement still occurs on a circle segment, which, however, is inclined at a slight angle with respect to the side edge 40. as indicated by the double arrow 50.

In the areas of the two corners 52, 54 results in attachment in the position II, a lower deflection with a movement component, which is indicated by the double arrow 46.

Overall, with a fastening in the position II thus results in a reinforced deflection in the area of the corner 42, in the central region of the grinding tool, albeit a minor, so noticeable grinding effect, and also in the region of the two corners 52, 54, which are closer to Drive axle 16 than the remote corner 42 are located, a lower abrasive effect. In this case, as illustrated by the arrows 48 and 50 in Fig. 2, a largely vibration-free working allows along inner longitudinal edges.
