Definitions
- the invention relates to an apparatus and a method for direct or indirect application of a liquid or pasty medium on a pre-formed, but still wet material web, in particular made of paper or cardboard.
- From DE-OS 19 42 348 for example Known application device in which the application medium onto a web of material picked up between two fourdriners is applied. Suction devices are also provided, which remove moisture from the still wet material web. Due to the singing sieves inherent, relatively loose guidance the material web in a direction orthogonal to the material web plane The material web points in the direction of Application device on a relatively loose structure. That on the application medium applied therefore tends to hit away in the volume of the material web and does not remain in the area as is actually desired the surface of the material web. With the from DE-OS 19 42nd 348 known application device can thus the modern machines for the production of paper or cardboard do not achieve the required stroke quality.
- the surface of a fibrous web that is in the above has been provided with an order medium as described, has a rough surface. This can cause problems lead when printing. A major cause of plucking lies in the order nip opening too quickly. This Opening speed is becoming ever greater Problem, the faster the paper machines run.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an apparatus and a method for direct or indirect application of a liquid or pasty medium on a pre-formed, but still wet material web, in particular made of paper or cardboard.
From DE-OS 19 42 348, for example Known application device in which the application medium onto a web of material picked up between two fourdriners is applied.
The prior art includes US Pat. No. 5,152,872. In this document, an application device on a wet web of material described. There is one Fibrous web on a sieve. Not on the sieve touched side of the fibrous web - in the looping area a supporting roller - transmits a rotating one Roll the application medium onto the surface of the Fibrous web. A pair of rollers touches the surface line of the Applicator roller. In the upper wedge of the pair of rollers, this is Application medium dosed into it. By unrolling this The application medium on the Spread surface of the application roller. One disadvantage of this Construction is the rapidly opening gap between the area of the wire wrapped by the sieve and the fibrous web supporting roller and the application roller after the application. This is due to the relatively small radius of curvature Application roller conditional. By the adhesion of the Application medium, both on the fibrous web surface, as it also occurs on the surface of the application roller Plucking on the surface. Another disadvantage of this The arrangement is the construction consisting of three rollers. This makes the construction expensive. Because of the three-roller arrangement the space requirement is also considerable because the Application device can be arranged directly on the path got to.
Another prior art is from the US document 4,793,899 known. The order is placed with this font of a medium in the press section of a paper machine. Here the fibrous web also rests on a conveyor belt; in in this case a press felt. An order facility - there described as a "short-dwell coater" - carries that Apply the application medium to an unfelted press roller surface. This press roll forms together with another roll a press nip. When rolling off the surface of the press roll the fibrous web, the application medium is on this transferred and pressed into the fiber structure. At the Leaving the fibrous web of the press nip also results in this construction, the disadvantage of Plucking. The surface of a fibrous web that is in the above has been provided with an order medium as described, has a rough surface. This can cause problems lead when printing. A major cause of plucking lies in the order nip opening too quickly. This Opening speed is becoming ever greater Problem, the faster the paper machines run.
Furthermore occur in the known from US-PS 4,793,899 Applicator device from a loose structure Material web problems don't come to light so much and don't affect the stroke quality as much, however the application medium is in that of the two rollers formed order gap so intensely in the material web pressed that that explicitly specified in US Patent 4,793,899 The aim is to get the application medium as close as possible to the surface of the material web to keep, not to the extent desired is achieved.
In addition, the known from US-PS 4,793,899 Application device a variety of leadership and Press rolls for the material web and these leading screens and is therefore structurally complex.
According to a first aspect of the invention, it is an object of the invention, an application device for the wet area a machine for producing a material web, in particular made of paper or cardboard, ready to supply which one enables that applied to the material web Keep application medium close to its surface and according to a second aspect is a picking when applying the Avoid application medium. Both should be simple Structure of the application device are made possible. Further like this a corresponding order process is also available be put.
Erfindung.According to the invention, the object of the invention is achieved both by
the features of
Accordingly, the design of a device for direct or indirect application of a liquid or pasty medium on a pre-formed, but still wet material web, in particular made of paper or cardboard, proposed which comprises a roller, the roller the Material web along part of its circumference in one Wrapping area leads, further includes a commissioned work to apply the liquid or pasty medium to the Surface of the material web or the surface of the roller, and at least one screen belt carrying the material web comprises, the screen belt between the application and the Material web is arranged and the application medium in Wrapping area of the roller with the material web in Contact occurs.
The mode of operation of the application device according to the invention is based primarily on the combination of two characteristics, namely on the one hand that the application medium in the wrapping area of Roller comes into contact with the material web, and secondly, that the application medium always through a sieve on the Material web is applied, regardless of whether the application medium on the material web from the inside forth or from the outside is applied. Here the terms "inside" and "outside" refer to the curved course of the material web in Wrap area, i.e. under the "inside" is the understood the side of the material web facing the roller, while under the "outside" the side facing away from the roller the material web is understood.
Is the application work on the outside of the material web arranged, so that leads between material web and Applicator arranged sieve belt to compress the Fiber structure of the material web. So that can be applied Do not knock the application medium away into the volume of the material web and remains in the area of its outer surface. On the other hand, the application work and thus also the screen belt is open arranged on the inside of the material web, so the Material web in the wrap area due to the already existing cohesion of their fiber structure condenses what again a knocking of the application medium into the volume the material web difficult. The sieve belt works at the same time as a pressure buffer for the at the entrance to the Wrapping area building hydrodynamic pressure. Thus, the pressure cannot assume values that the Application medium through the compressed area into the Volume of the material web could blow away. In addition comes that none on the outside of the web Counter roll is provided. Therefore, the web of material Dodge pressure peaks of the applied application medium and thus knocking it off into the volume of the material web prevent. In addition, the invention Application device simple structure because it is in their Basic equipment only one wrap roller, one Screen belt and a commissioned work required.
Both when arranging the application on the outside of the Material web as well as its arrangement on the inside the material web, it is advantageous the material web between two sieve belts. In the first case prevents the provided on the inside of the material web, second screen belt a direct contact of the Material web with the roller surface, which is particularly the case Damage to the end of the wrapping area Material web due to unwanted adherence to the Prevents roll surface. In the second case, this is on the The second screen belt provided on the outside of the material web their compression.
In the case of an order from the outside of the material web the commissioned work according to an embodiment variant with the The sieve belt is in sliding contact. This variant allows to easily ensure that the Application medium through the sieve belt with the Material web comes into contact. The commissioned work can have an application chamber from which the application medium emerges under pressure and through the sieve belt with the Material web is brought into contact. By suitable choice the value of the pressure prevailing in the order chamber the application medium at a desired depth Material web are pressed in.
According to an alternative embodiment variant, the Application work, however, also at a distance from the screen belt arranged and, for example, by a free jet nozzle applicator be educated. The order medium occurs only "gradually" through the sieve belt and with the material web in contact.
In both versions, the commissioned work can Removal device to be arranged downstream for removal excess application medium from the material web. Especially in connection with the one discussed above the first embodiment can the removal device Order work immediately subordinate. For Ensuring a line that is as even as possible can do that Commissioned work additionally or alternatively one Equalization device to be subordinated to equalize the Application medium and if necessary for removal excess application medium from the material web. This Leveling device can be, for example Scraper arrangement or another known doctor unit include.
Even in the case of an order from the inside of the Material web, i.e. of the order through the Surface of the roller, the application can be according to a first embodiment with the surface of the roller in Stand sliding contact or according to a second Design variant at a distance from the surface of the roller be arranged.
In each of the cases discussed above, it is from Advantage if the roller is at least over part of the wrapping area extending vacuum zone having. In case of order from the outside of the Material web is the one in the still wet material web existing moisture is sucked off to the roller, causing the Anchoring the application medium in the area of the outer Relieved surface of the material web. In the case of Application from the inside of the material web can be done by means of excess medium in the vacuum zone be removed from the surface of the material web.
As already indicated above for an application the order work can have an order chamber, from which the application medium emerges under pressure. For example, a pressure of between 300 Pa and 10 kPa, preferably between 500 Pa and 5 kPa prevail. The exposure time can be between 1 ms and 10 ms. In order to use the To enable order medium, it is also proposed that the application work for the metered delivery of the application medium is trained.
The radius of the roller can have a value of between 200 mm and 1200 mm. Finally, the solids content of the paper web can be between 5% and 50%, preferably between 8% and 17%, and the solids content of the application medium can be between 5% and 50%, preferably between 10% and 30%, the application medium being, for example, water, mineral fillers such as kaolin, CaCO 3 , TiO 2 and the like, binders such as starch, latex or the like, retention aids and optical brighteners.
So the inventor suggests no roller as Order element to be used, but in a different way to create slowly opening order gap in which the Transfer of the application medium to the material web by means of one slowly approaching the fibrous web and after the Order also slowly from the fibrous web removing transfer ribbon takes place.
This has several advantages: First, it comes Application medium before the press nip with the material web in contact, which affects the exposure time of the medium the material web extended. On the other hand, it is Transfer speed of the transferring transfer belt from the material web after the press nip against the Roller application significantly lower. So in this slim Application wedges the entrained boundary air layer on the Felting and the web no interfering barrier between Represents the order medium and the material web, that Transfer ribbon should be permeable to air. The air permeability is also required again if the transfer nip is opens so that the material web comes off the transfer belt again can solve.
The application medium is applied to the Transfer ribbon applied. On the circumference of the application roller the order medium is in turn by means of a Doctor device applied. The invention Application device consists of a transfer belt and a Commissioned work. The application unit can be applied by an application roller will be realized. But it is also conceivable that for Wetting the transfer belt also a commissioned work with a assigned roller pair (three-roller system) is used.
Another advantage of the described ordering device is that part of the ordering facility - that Transfer belt - in most cases already available is and therefore no additional space is required is. The other part of the order setup - that Commissioned work - can be further away from the train, where there is enough space.
The application device according to the invention can various places in the area of the wet end and / or the Press section of a paper machine can be used.
An advantageous place of use is at the beginning of the press section. The fibrous web passes through the wire section pre-dewatered with the help of a felt from the wire section to the first press nip of the press section. A second felt, the provided with the order medium by means of the order work runs together with the first felt in the wedge shape into the first press nip. Because of the still very high Water content of the fibrous web results for this Typical penetration of the application medium into the place of use Fibrous web.
It can also be advantageous if you start with the press section in the first press nip another Drainage of the fibrous web is achieved. Because of the changed properties of the fibrous web after the first Press, it comes when applying order medium with the application device according to the invention in this area too other fibrous web properties.
It is also advantageous if a fibrous web is not only the application medium is provided from one side, but in two or even more order levels. Here can the application medium in its consistency and / or Composition from place of order to place of order set differently.
According to the invention, the transfer belt does not necessarily have to be a Be press felt. Also a sieve that a sufficient Has absorption capacity for the application medium and fine mesh is enough to have no pattern of its mesh structure on the Leaving fibrous web is a transfer belt suitable.
It can also be advantageous if the invention Application device in the wrapping area of the screen suction roll the wire section is used. On the one hand there is the Fibrous web a still quite loose fiber structure, so that the application medium is particularly intensive in the fiber structure can penetrate. On the other hand, the suction zone supports the Sieve suction roller this effect.

In Figur 1 ist eine erste Ausführungsform der
erfindungsgemäßen Auftragsvorrichtung allgemein mit 10
bezeichnet.
sicherstellen. Die Materialbahn 12 ist nebst den Siebbändern

Umschlingungsbereich U an der Oberfläche 18a der Materialbahn
an.

Absaugvorrichtung 26 vorgesehen, mittels derer

Auftragsmedium entsprechend hohen Feststoffgehalts

beschreiben.

Analoge Teile
ansonsten hiermit verwiesen sei.FIG. 3 shows a further embodiment of a
Application device according to the invention shown, which in
essentially corresponds to that according to FIG. 1. Analog parts
are therefore provided with the same reference numerals in FIG
in Figure 1, but increased by the number 200. The
The
Bei der Ausführungsform gemäß Figur 3 dient die
Unterdruckzone 228 hauptsächlich dazu, überschüssiges auf die
Materialbahn 212 aufgebrachtes Auftragsmedium 224 wieder
der Oberfläche 218a.In the embodiment according to
In Figur 4 ist eine weitere Ausführungsform einer
erfindungsgemäßen Auftragsvorrichtung dargestellt, welche im
wesentlichen jener gemäß Figur 3 entspricht. Analoge Teile
ansonsten hiermit verwiesen sei.4 shows a further embodiment of a

in Figure 3, but increased by the number 100, i.e. compared
with Figure 1 increased by the number 300. The
der Ausführungsform gemäß Figur 3.The
In Figur 5 ist eine weitere Ausführungsform einer
erfindungsgemäßen Auftragsvorrichtung dargestellt, welche im
wesentlichen jener gemäß Figur 3 entspricht. Analoge Teile
ansonsten hiermit verwiesen sei.5 shows a further embodiment of a
Application device according to the invention shown, which in
essentially corresponds to that according to FIG. 3. Analog parts
are therefore given the same reference numerals in FIG
in Figure 3, but increased by the number 200, i.e. compared
with Figure 1 increased by the number 400. The
The
Although only embodiments for one-sided application of a liquid or pasty medium have been described, it is understood that the Application device according to the invention for both sides Order can be trained. Any one is Combination of one of the "outer" order arrangements according to Figures 1 and 2 with one of the "inner" order arrangements possible according to Figures 3 and 4.
Nachzutragen ist noch, daß der Feststoffgehalt der
Materialbahn 12 im Bereich des Auftragswerks 20 zwischen 5 %
und 50 %, vorzugsweise zwischen 8 % und 17 %, betragen kann,
während der Feststoffgehalt des Auftragsmediums 24 zwischen 5
% und 50 %, vorzugsweise zwischen 10 % und 30 % betragen
kann. Hierbei wird unter dem Feststoffgehalt der Materialbahn
der prozentuale Massenanteil fester Stoffe, beispielsweise
Fasern, Füllstoffe und dergleichen, bezogen auf die
Gesamtmasse der aus Fasern, Füllstoffen, Wasser und
dergleichen bestehenden Materialbahn verstanden. Ferner wird
unter dem Feststoffgehalt des Auftragsmediums der prozentuale
Massenanteil fester Stoffe, beispielsweise mineralische Pigmente,
Bindemittel, Hilfsmittel und dergleichen, bezogen auf
die Gesamtmasse des zusätzlich flüssige Anteile,
hauptsächlich Wasser, enthaltenden Auftragsmediums
verstanden. Das Auftragsmedium kann beispielsweise aus
Wasser, mineralischen Füllstoffen wie Kaolin, CaCO3, TiO2 und
dergleichen, Bindemittel wie Stärke, Latex oder dergleichen,
Retentionsmittel und optischen Aufhellern zusammengesetzt
sein.It must also be added that the solids content of the
It should also be added that the increase in mass due to the application of the liquid or pasty medium per side is preferably between about 1 g / m 2 and 10 g / m 2 .
The application device according to the invention can, for example can be used in a twin wire former and due to their construction a film press replace what the Effectiveness of the machine for the production of the material web elevated.
It should be pointed out again that the material web in Wrapping area is compressed, so that the Application medium evenly distributed on their surface instead of completely soaking them, i.e. down to the volume to knock off the material web. Overall, the Application device according to the invention with little Application weight achieved an even, smooth stroke become.
In FIG. 7 the material web (fibrous web) moves

In Figur 8 ist eine weitere Ausführungsform einer
erfindungsgemäßen Auftragsvorrichtung dargestellt. Hier in
Materialbahn P in der Trockenpartie 625 getrocknet.FIG. 8 shows a further embodiment of a

In
Obwohl in
bewirken.FIG. 9 shows a further embodiment of a
Application device according to the invention shown. Similar
As in FIG. 8, the material web P runs through in FIG
two successive pairs of press rolls 712, 713 and 731,

Ein besonderer Einsatzfall einer weiteren Ausführungsform
einer erfindungsgemäßen Auftragsvorrichtung ist in der Figur
10 dargestellt.
A special application of another embodiment
an application device according to the invention is in the figure
10 shown. Here is an additional sieve or
