Description

The subject of the invention is a snowboard binding at automatic footwear and a shoe for the latter. The snowboard, also called snowboard, is a snowboard more or less flexible elongated intended to slide on the snow.

Snowboards are expensive for the time being which they are used. In addition, during the period when they do not are not used they are bulky. For these reasons many casual athletes prefer to rent surfboards from snow rather than buying them. Current fixings require adjustment according to the types of shoes and sizes. Self-fitting surf bindings currently on the market, offer little footwear, which is particularly inconvenient with rigid shell shoes, called alpine.

Indeed, the current automatic shoe bindings have a very directional snap. Most of self-fitting surfboard bindings require high precision on the part of the user when fitting them. These fixings are not satisfactory, some are not central relative to the shoe and require a stirrup held at the front of the shoe, they do not provide good distribution of efforts on the surf. They are at lateral or very directional snap-on which offers little comfort to the user. In addition, they cannot be used for users of rigid, so-called shell shoes. For other types the position during latching does not leave fixing visible to the user and requires a lot of precision. They have no possibility of automatic tightening compensation when a snow depth under the shoe. Snow settling in thanks to the movements, leaves a void generating instabilities.

To improve bindings on self-fitting surfboards we imagined a binding comprising a base comprising side hooks, one of which is locked by a lever, in which snap two stirrups integral with the shoe. One of the stirrups is locked by a means of closure that allows passage during putting on and prevents return of the stirrup by its interposition during a vertical stress. If this fixation is satisfactory as for the automatic shoe, it is not for its comfort since the boot can be done only by a very directional arrival. For shell shoes this type of binding does not allow the use of a shoe rigid because the user's leg having the joints maintained does not provide the flexibility to allow the snap. Another type of fastening with a plate low fixed on the surf and the female footprint attached to the shoe with the closure means, offers the self-fitting surf binding features but has the drawback of obscuring the part to be snapped on since the latter is located under the user's shoe.

We know snowboard boots with their two ends of ledges or intricate pieces under the sole intended to allow their maintenance on the surf or on ski. Most of these shoes satisfy their users, however in some situations they have difficulty getting fixed on the surf or on skiing, especially when snow has settled on the surf or skiing or under the shoe, for shoes with binding fully under the sole in particular. In addition, for shoes which are attached at the front and back or in the cantilevered lateral zones, the transmission of efforts is not optimum.

Other shoes have recesses at the level of the sole in the middle zone to allow their maintenance by claws. These fasteners are relatively complicated and little reliable. In addition, the recesses in the shoes can be fill with snow or the shoe or binding can be covered with snow, which makes it difficult to put on.

The object of the invention is to provide a fixing which does not not have the defects of existing fasteners and a shoe for the latter. These goals are achieved with the snowboard binding defined in claim 1.

As seen in Figure 1 a binding according to the invention represents a compact set with a pleasant shape to watch. The attachment has a base plate 1, also called base, intended to be fixed on the surface upper of a snowboard. The mounting of the base 1 is done by means of screws passing through the holes 2, or by via a circular plate (not shown), which have notches to allow 360 ° angle adjustment and holes intended to receive fixing screws, not represented. The circular plate (not shown) is independent of the base 1 and has a rim with splines. We find identical grooves on the base 1 which allows to orient the binding in the desired manner. This device is known and is found on fasteners that is why it was not represented.

The binding is formed by a base 1 comprising two side plates 3 and 4, having a spacing 5 substantially the width of a shoe. Each of said plates 3 and 4 has a vertical groove 6 respectively 7 at its center and a cam 8 respectively 9 movable on axes integral with said plates 3 and 4. These cams are intended to hold a transverse bar 10 at the bottom of the grooves 6 and 7 fixed under the sole of the shoe (see figure 8 and 9). The transverse bar 10 is snapped into the grooves 6 and 7 of the plates 3 and 4 of the base 1 and is retained by the cams 8 and 9. Said cams are self-tightening, that is to say that they can make up for any play left by the compaction of a layer of snow under the sole thanks to the cutouts 11. The shoe is released by simple pressure on a lateral lever 12, which by a transmission rod 13 held in the low position by a spring 14, opens the two cams 8 and 9 at the same time, which allows the removal of the bar 10, therefore of the shoe 15 (Fig 5).
The bar 10 can be constituted by a straight bar or having folds.

In Figure 2 we see that the base 1 is compact occupying little space on the board. We can notice the transmission rod 13, controlling the opening of the cams 8 and 9. In the closed position, the bar 10 retained by the cams 8 and 9 which constitutes a simple closing means and effective.

Figure 5 will better understand the operation of the binding. Indeed, it is not necessary to present the shoe 15 horizontally laterally or longitudinally for the latching to be carried out. The cams 8 and 9 are independent despite their connection by the rod 13 by the presence of the slot 16.
By design, the binding can be used regardless of the orientation of the shoe.

The fixing according to the invention can be made of light metal, for example sheet metal or aluminum alloy or of synthetic material of suitable strength.
As can be seen in the figures, only the sole of the shoe has been shown, since the vamp and the upper can be of any shape and have no influence on the invention.

We see in Figures 8 and 9 that a sole 1 of a shoe according to the invention comprises a front part 3 and a rear part called heel 2. Between the two parts 2 and 3 is a recess 4, which in the described embodiment is circular with a diameter of 110 mm and depth of 14 mm. These shapes and dimensions are given only by way of example. The recess can have any shape, for example: square, rectangular, elliptical, oval etc. to allow the attachment of a bar 5 between the front part 3 and the heel 2.
This bar disposed transversely relative to the length of the sole has a length slightly greater than the width of the sole, so as to create hooking elements projecting, or substantially aligned with the external shapes of the upper of the shoe.

The bar 5 is intended to be caught in a device provided (shown in Figures 1 to 7) on the attachment designed to cooperate with said shoe. The position of the bar 5 is substantially offset, relative to the middle of the sole, on the rear side, that is towards the heel 2. This positioning of the bar aims to create a better position for the user in order to obtain a more direct transmission of the forces.

As can be seen in the figures, only the sole of the shoe has been shown, because the vamp and the upper can be of any shape and do not have no influence on the invention.

We see in Figures 1 and 2 that a sole 1 of a shoe according the invention comprises a front part 3 and a rear part called heel 2. Between the two parts 2 and 3 is a recess 4, which in the form of execution described is circular with a diameter of 110 mm and depth of 14 mm. These shapes and dimensions are given only by way of example. The indentation can have any shape, for example: square, rectangular, elliptical, oval to allow the fixing of a bar 5 between the front part 3 and the heel (2). This bar arranged transversely relative to the sole length has a length slightly greater than the width of the sole, so as to create elements hanging, or substantially aligned with the shapes of the upper of the shoe.

The bar 5 is intended to be caught in a device provided (not shown) on the attachment designed to cooperate with the said shoe. The position of the bar 5 is noticeably off center, relative to the middle of the sole, rear side, that is towards the heel 2. This positioning of the bar aims to create a better position for the user in order to obtain a more direct transmission of efforts.

In the example described it is held by a plate 6 screwed by four screws 7. The sole 1 of the shoe can also have a groove 9 to improve the maintenance of the bar 5.

In certain embodiments the bar 5 will present to its two ends extending beyond the sole 1 of the elbows this for gain height.

The invention is not limited to the defined forms of execution, but on the contrary contains all the variants that the man of art could adapt to it in terms of dimensions, shapes and positions of the reinforcements and the bar 5.

It goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the sole embodiment of this boot binding automatic, which has been described above by way of example, but embraces all variants of execution, in particular in that which relates to the shape of the base of the support plates or of the material used for the realization.
