A vehicle assembly (VB) comprises at least one separate vehicle (EF) which can be identified individually. The configuration (AKON) of a vehicle assembly (VBx) currently observed is determined and checked for conformity with relevant train-announcement data sets (VM). If there is conformity with precisely one train-announcement data set, this set is allocated to the vehicle assembly (VBx). If several or no data sets are in conformity, the train-announcement data set (VM4) to be allocated to the vehicle assembly (VBx) is determined by identifying the separate vehicle (EF4).

Eine besonders robuste und zuverlässige Identifizierung der Einzelfahrzeuge ist nach einer vorteilhaften Fortbildung der Erfindung dadurch möglich, daß als fahrzeugspezifisches Iden¬ tifizierungskennzeichen ein Oberflächenwellenreflektor ver¬ wendet wird, der für sich aus dem Aufsatz "DER INTELLIGENTE GUTERWAGEN", R. Grolms und M. Jung in Transport- und Umschlag¬ technik, 54-1994 bekannt ist. Ein alternatives Iden¬ tifizierungsprinzip ist die Videoidentifizierung der individuellen Wagennummern, wobei vorteilhafterweise bereits eine Identifizierbarkeit einer z. B. wegen Verschmutzung der Wagennummern) vergleichsweise geringen Anzahl von Einzel¬ fahrzeugen ausreichend ist. In entsprechender Weise sind die übrigen Achs- abstände für den Fahrzeugverband VBl und für alle weiteren Fahrzeugverbände bestimmt. Zusätzlich werden die Wagenenden WE (Wagenreihung) in Fahrtrichtung A ermittelt und im jewei¬ ligen Satz der Vormeldedaten angegeben. Dies ist vereinfacht in Figur 1 dadurch dargestellt, daß jeweils die Achsabstände zwischen Achsen unterstrichen sind, die wagenendseitige Ach¬ sen sind. Demgemäß ist z. B. der Achsabstand "2" zwischen den Achsen A12, A13 des Fahrzeugverbandes VBl unterstrichen. Al¬ ternativ können bei einer fortlaufenden Achsnumerierung auch jeweils die Achsen für sich gekennzeichnet sein, die wa- genendsei ige Achsen sind. Außerdem umfassen die Vormeldeda¬ tensätze VMn jeweils die Gesamtanzahl Σ der Achsen des jewei¬ ligen Fahrzeugverbandes. Die Achskonfigurationen werden vorab beim Vorbeilauf der Fahrzeugverbände an einer vorgeordneten Aufnahmeeinheit AE z. Da¬ bei ergibt sich zwar im Vergleich der Gesamtzahl Σ der Achsen eine Übereinstimmung (jeweils 14 Achsen) zwischen der aktu¬ ellen Konfiguration AKON des Fahrzeugverbandes VBx und dem ersten Satz von Vormeldedaten VM1, jedoch unterscheidet sich die aktuelle Konfiguration von dem Vormeldedatensatz VM1 hin- sichtlich der Achsabstände und der Wagenenden (Wagenreihung) erheblich. Die Vormeldedaten VMl werden daher als für den Fahrzeugverband VBx unzutreffend verworfen. Auch der (in Fi¬ gur 2 nicht explizit dargestellte) Vergleich der Vormeldeda¬ ten VMn mit der aktuellen Konfiguration ergibt schon hin- sichtlich der Gesamtzahl (12/14) der Achsen eine erhebliche Abweichung. In Figur 2 sind nur noch die beiden Vormeldeda¬ tensätze VM2 und VM4 dargestellt, die beide hinsichtlich der Gesamtachsanzahl, der Achsabstände und der Wagenenden eine vollständige Übereinstimmung mit der aktuellen Konfiguration AKON ergeben. Sofern nur die Konfiguration des aktuell beob¬ achteten Fahrzeugverbandes zur Verfügung stände, müßte nun von Hand vor Ort festgestellt werden, um welchen Fahrzeug¬ verband VM2 oder VM4 es sich tatsächlich handelt. Durch zu¬ sätzliche Auswertung des Identifizierungskennzeicheήs IKx des ersten Wagens EF des beobachteten Fahrzeugverbandes VBx wird nicht nur der erste Wagen individuell identifiziert, sondern läßt sich auch auf den gesamten Fahrzeugverband VBx rückzu¬ schließen. Das Einzelfahrzeug EF4 (Figur 1) läßt nämlich auf¬ grund der eindeutig identifizierten Wagennummer und Wagenpo- sition den Schluß zu, daß es sich nur um den Fahrzeugverband VB4 gemäß dem Vormeldedatensatz VM4 handeln kann. Nur dieser Fahrzeugverband VM4 umfaßt nämlich an seiner ersten Stelle das Einzelfahrzeug EF4, das nicht nur hinsichtlich seiner Achskonfiguration, sondern auch seiner Wagennummer dem ersten Fahrzeug EFx des Fahrzeugverbandes VBx entspricht. Zur indi¬ viduellen Identifizierung können an sich bekannte Oberflä- chenwellenreflektoren als Identifizierungskennzeichen IK ver¬ wendet werden. Alternativ kann eine Videoerkennung zur opti¬ schen Abtastung und Identifizierung der individuellen Wagen- nummern vorgesehen werden. Bei einer nachfolgend zur weiteren Erläuterung angenommenen alternativen Fallgestaltung sollen die Vormeldedatensätze die Vormeldedaten VM4 nicht umfassen. Wäre eine Zuordnung nicht möglich, weil in keinem der in Frage kommenden Vormel¬ dedatensätze VM2 und VM4 das identifizierte Einzelfahrzeug EFx enthalten ist, wird ebenso wie bei fehlender Übereinstim¬ mung (0) eine Fehlermeldung FEH1 generiert. Gemäß der in Fi- gur 2 gezeigten Fallgestaltung wird dem Fahrzeugverband VBx der Vormeldedatensatz VM4 zugeordnet. Bei eindeutiger Über- einstimmung wird zusätzlich geprüft, ob das gemäß dem Identi¬ fizierungskennzeichen IKx in dem Fahrzeugverband VBx zu er¬ wartende Einzelfahrzeug EFi auch tatsächlich im Fahrzeugver¬ band VBx enthalten ist. Ist dies der Fall (J) , kann mit einer überraschend hohen Sicherheit auf eine korrekte Identifizie¬ rung des aktuellen Fahrzeugverbandes und auf eine entspre¬ chend korrekte Zuordnung der Vormeldedaten geschlossen werden (OK) . Andernfalls (N) wird eine Fehlermeldung FEH2 ausgege¬ ben, aufgrund derer eine FehlZerlegung des Fahrzeugverbandes VBx verhindert oder nachfolgend aufgespürt und rückwirkend korrigiert werden kann.
