Description
The invention relates to a wear-resistant tool insert that can be used in machines for shaping and cutting to length nails, screws and rivets wire-shaped starting material.
Such half tool inserts are so-called striking or clamping jaws as well as lasting jaws, which are used in pairs in the machine in identical design. According to EP-A-0 401 918, the clamping jaws are often implemented and exchangeable Half-inserts in tool holders usually in the form of elongated, prismatic bodies with trapezoidal cross section in corresponding recesses of this tool holder used and clamped. The jaws have an or on an insert surface several clamping grooves with a semicircular cross-section for clamping the supplied wire and a subsequent one Recess on which in the closed state of the two opposing clamping jaws or half-tool inserts for shaping the desired head shape of the one to be produced Part serves. The clamping jaws are arranged in the machine so that the clamping grooves opposite the half-inserts used in pairs. In the course of Workflow, the jaws are closed or opened. in the the inserted wire is closed by the tension grooves clamped. In the clamped state, the head of the nails Bolts or rivets upset. For better clamping of the wire the clamping grooves are preferably with semicircular transverse grooves profiled. After finishing the head, the part is closed by closing two opposite tool half-inserts in the form of lasting jaws. The jaws are also clamped in tool holders or directly in the machine. she have a symmetrical profile with several cutting edges, through which on the one hand the end of the finished part is molded and the part is cut to length and on the other hand, the initial geometry for the formation of the head of the next part is molded.
A distinction is made between single-core or two-core jaws, where either one or two adjacent grooves are incorporated.
The two-wire version enables the simultaneous production of two Nails, screws or rivets, i.e. a doubling of the Production output. The pinch jaws are usually only single-core executed so that four in conjunction with two-core jaws Pinches are used.
The half-tool inserts are often used to reduce wear Carbide made. Is the wear of the clamping grooves or the cutting edges bets must be exchanged.
Tungsten carbide and other hard, wear-resistant materials also show a high compressive strength a very high hardness and therefore high Wear resistance, but are in terms of tensile and Bending stresses only moderately resilient. Due to irregularities in wire quality fluctuating dimensions or different strengths it can the manufacture of nails, screws or rivets at very high levels Tensile stresses and thus excessive stresses on the inserts wear-resistant material come what often with a break of the inserts connected is.
In order to shape the die with transitions that are as sharp as possible, to form a needle point that is as pointed and sharp as possible, the die can be reached in the longitudinal direction of the needle tip executed symmetrically divided.
The invention has for its object wear-resistant tool inserts for machines for the production of nails, screws, rivets and the like create an inadmissible compared to known designs Overstraining due to excessive tensile stresses and therefore premature Breaking is avoided.
According to the invention this is achieved in that the half tool insert in Axial direction of the supplied wire is divided.
In this way it is achieved that the use of wear-resistant Material can "yield" in a controlled manner when overloaded, which makes it impermissible high tensile stresses that could lead to breakage of the insert, be avoided.
In an advantageous variant of the invention, the individual parts of the half tool insert are by a Rivet or screw connection connected to each other.
In another variant, the individual parts of the half tool insert via the tool holder or the machine part in which it is inserted are pressed together.
In another advantageous embodiment, the individual parts protrude an at least partially serrated surface in connection. This configuration is particularly advantageous if none Connecting elements, such as screws or rivets, for connecting the individual parts are provided. The sawtooth profile forces in Direction of the pressure applied to the wire and a special one good interlocking of the individual parts achieved with each other.
Tungsten carbide is a particularly advantageous material for semi-tool use used.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to figures.
