Abstract

A press arrangement 10 of a paper or board machine for treating a fibrous web 12 in a press nip 14 extended in the running direction L of the fibrous web 12 is described. The press nip 14 is delimited by two press surfaces, at least one of which is formed by a flexible press jacket 18 guided over at least one press shoe 16, which can be pressed by the press shoe 16 to form a fluid cushion between the press shoe 16 and the press jacket 18 against the opposite press surface. Here, the press shoe 16 can be acted on such that, in particular with an at least substantially constant average total load on the press shoe 16, the resulting center of gravity is adjustable relative to the press shoe 16 in the running direction L of the fibrous web 12 and thus that which occurs in the running direction L of the fibrous web 12 in the press nip 14 Pressure profile can be influenced accordingly. At least one dewatering felt 28 is passed through the press nip 14 together with the fibrous web 16 to be treated. In addition, at least one device 30 for controlling and / or regulating the pressure profile is provided, by means of which the respective position of the center of gravity, which is adjustable relative to the press shoe 16 in the running direction L of the fibrous web 12, can be set as a function of at least one input variable E i which is suitable for the properties and / or the behavior of the drainage felt 28 during operation is representative, so that the relative position of the center of gravity can be adjusted accordingly during changes in the nature or behavior of this drainage felt 28 during operation and in the course of the life of the drainage felt 28.
