Abstract

The tensioner is for a transmission chain between sprockets (20,22) on the ends of two parallel crankshafts (10,12) located inside a cylinder head fixed to a block by bolts (4). The tensioner consists of a tensioning element (28) which acts on the upper section (26) of the chain, and a shoe (30) which presses against the lower section (24) and is fitted between the heads of the cylinder head bolts (4).
