Definitions
- the invention relates to a method and a device for automatically changing a boom stack according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- the aim of the invention is to improve the process of replacing a stack of sheets on a sheet delivery.
- the object of the invention is to improve the method of changing the stack on a sheet delivery in such a way that the method is both safer and can be used for a larger area with regard to the quality of printing materials.
- FIG. 1 shows a stack changing device on a sheet delivery of a sheet printing machine with the facilities required for a so-called non-stop operation.
- the sheet delivery is only partially shown here with an endless chain conveyor system, also not shown, and a Main stack elevator provided so that printed sheets D can be conveyed from the printing units of the sheet printing machine to the sheet delivery, released above a stacking area S and stored.
- the printed sheets D are braked and placed freely on a sheet stack 1.
- the sheet stack 1 is seated on a pallet, which in turn is carried by a main stacker.
- the main stacking hoist ensures a continuous lowering of the pallet when the sheet stack 1 is increased due to the requested and deposited printed sheets D.
- An auxiliary stacking device is arranged on both sides of the area of the sheet stack 1 at the level of the stacking area S.
- the auxiliary stacking device consists of two sheet supporting surfaces 2, 3 arranged in mirror image, which are arranged on the sheet delivery from the transverse sides, ie at right angles to a sheet running direction predetermined by the sheet printing machine.
- the sheet supporting surfaces 2, 3 can each be moved into and out of the stacking area S with the aid of a drive.
- two sheet separating devices 4, 5 are arranged on both sides of the sheet stack 1. They consist of small pneumatic cylinders, on the working cylinders of which pins are arranged which can be moved into the stacking area S.
- the sheet separating devices 4, 5 are slightly inclined in their orientation to the position of the incoming printed sheets D, so that when the sheet separating devices 4, 5 are retracted, a downwardly curved contact surface for the incoming printed sheets D results. Furthermore, control devices are connected to the sheet delivery, which control the sequence of the movements of the sheet separating devices 2, 3, sheet support surfaces 4, 5 and main stack lifting mechanism among themselves.
- the sheet separating devices 4, 5 are arranged in the region of side guides 10, 11, which serve for an exact stack formation of the sheet stack 1. The following procedure is therefore provided for quick and gentle treatment of the printed sheets D when changing stacks:
- Fig. 1 the initial state of the sheet stack 1 is shown in the sheet delivery.
- the sheet stack 1 is almost filled up to its maximum stack height, the sheet support surfaces 2, 3 are in the waiting position and the sheet separating devices 4, 5 are in the waiting position.
- a start signal is given.
- the start signal causes the sheet stack 1 to be lowered in direction A.
- the lowering movement takes place at a relatively slow lowering speed V1 in order not to disturb the stack formation too much.
- the sheet separating devices 4, 5 are shot into the area of the falling printed sheets D.
- this process is controlled in such a way that the time at which the sheet separating device 4, 5 is shot in must fall within the range of a gap between the falling printing sheets D.
- This control process must be matched to the movement of the chain conveyor system, for example, or can be derived from it.
- the lowering speed is increased to the value V2 in order to get faster into the area of the sheet supporting surfaces 2, 3 with the upper edge of the sheet stack 1.
- the sheet stack 1 is removed from the Sheet delivery is removed and replaced by an empty pallet 12.
- the empty pallet 12 with the main stack elevator is raised to below the sheet supporting surfaces 2, 3, the sheet supporting surfaces 2, 3 are laterally pulled out of the stacking area S.
- the auxiliary stack 9 falls onto the empty pallet 12 and the sheet stacking can continue as usual.
- the sensor 9 or other elements serving for operational safety, such as limit switches recognize that the sheet supporting surfaces 2, 3 are removed from the stacking area S.
- the main stacker can then lift the pallet 12 into a position between the side guides 10, 11 that is optimal for the sheet deposit. This positioning is carried out in accordance with the positioning with respect to the heights H1 and H2 when the sheet stack 1 moves downward.
- the method is supplemented by a corresponding control of the known device for accomplishing the stack change.
- the arrangement of the elements can be seen in FIGS. 1 to 6.
- the assignment of the movement sequences between the sheet separating devices 4, 5 and the sheet support surfaces 2, 3 or the movement of the main stacking hoist is controlled by sensors 6, 7, 8 in the area of the upper edge of the sheet stack 1 and in the area of the sheet support areas 2, 3.
- a sensor 6 is provided, which detects the surface or upper edge of the sheet stack 1 and controls the shooting-in movement of the sheet separating devices 4, 5 in a certain position. This should happen when the sheet stack 1 is lowered just below the sheet separating devices 4, 5.
- Another sensor 7 is arranged at the point where the surface or upper edge of the sheet stack 1 is to have the lower position during use of the auxiliary stacking device, which was designated as height H2.
- this position H2 of the second sensor 7 the sheet stack 1 is stopped and at the same time the sheet support surfaces 2, 3 are set in motion for insertion into the area of the sheet stack 1.
- This control ensures that a rapid transition to retracting the arch wings 2, 3 is achieved and at the same time only a few printed sheets D come to rest on the sheet separating devices 4, 5, with the above-mentioned positive effects.
- a signal for a travel path for the main stacking hoist can also be derived, which has to be traversed after reaching position H1 until the downward movement is stopped. The sensor 7 would thus be seen as part of the main stacking hoist.
- a third sensor 8 is assigned to the arch wings 2, 3.
- This sensor 8 detects the retracting movement of the sheet supporting surfaces 2, 3.
- the sensor 8 serves to control the sheet separating devices 4, 5 and to pull the sheet separating devices 4, 5 when the sheet supporting surfaces 2, 3 are retracted so far below the accumulating auxiliary stack 9 that they can record this.
- the sheet separating devices 4, 5 are pulled, the accumulated printing sheets D then fall onto the sheet supporting surfaces 2, 3 which are located just above the sheet stack 1 and thus lie relatively flat on the sheet stack 1 and the sheet supporting surfaces 2, 3. This significantly improves the insertion of the sheet support surfaces 2, 3, since the printed sheets D of the auxiliary stack 9 are only slightly curved or bent downward and can hardly provide any resistance to the sheet support surfaces 2, 3 when inserted.
- a top view of the stacking area S shows how the sheet support surfaces 2, 3 move relative to the sheet stack 1. Shown are the sheet support surfaces 2, 3 to the left and right of the sheet stack 1 and the side guides 10, 11, which delimit the stacking area S. Particular attention should be drawn to the sensor 8, which is fastened to the side guide 11 and interacts with the front edge of the sheet support surface 3. The position recognized by the sensor 8 is shown in broken lines. It can be seen that the sheet support surfaces 2, 3 already extend into the stacking area S and can thus take over the printed sheets D.
- the sensors 6, 7 and 8 are connected to one of the side guides 10, 11. As a result, the sensors 6, 7, 8 are always correctly positioned when setting them to different sheet formats. This ensures that the printed sheets D or the sheet stack 1 are always guided reliably and with any format setting and are also clearly identified when changing the stack.
- the takeover of the auxiliary stack 9 by the sheet support surfaces 2, 3 is thus considerably safer, runs faster and generates fewer relative movements between the printed sheets. This reliably avoids the problems of marking the printing ink on the underside of overlying printing sheets D and pushing printing sheets D together with lighter substrates.
- the work area of the facility is significantly expanded compared to the known process.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method and a device for automatically changing a boom stack according to the preamble of
When printing printed sheets in a sheet-fed printing press, the use of devices for automatic batch change is increasingly being discussed in the course of rationalization and increased performance. Both sheet stacks are to be handled on a sheet delivery as well as on a sheet feeder. Especially in the area of the sheet delivery of a sheet-fed rotary printing press, various boundary conditions have to be taken into account that apply to the raw, not yet printed substrate, e.g. Paper in the area of the sheet feeder does not apply. It is particularly important here that printed sheets arriving at high speed have to be caught during a transition period and then deposited. When collecting and temporarily holding these free-flying and only slightly braked printed sheets, it must be taken into account that the printed sheets are printed and, as a result, may no longer have their originally smooth contour. In addition, they are heavier, can be wavy and, above all, may have a layer of paint that may not yet have dried completely.
- First, the sheet separating devices, which are arranged on the transverse side of the sheet delivery, are shot at high speed into the area of the printed sheets released by an endless chain conveyor and falling down.
- These sheet separating devices create a gap in the area of the continuously supplied printed sheets.
- The printed sheets held up in turn open up a gap for the insertion of sheet support surfaces arranged laterally and held ready outside the area of the delivery stack.
- The sheet support surfaces serve as a support for an auxiliary stack that is piled up while a pallet loaded with a full stack of sheets is removed from the sheet delivery and a new empty pallet is inserted.
- While the sheet separating devices hold the incoming printed sheets up laterally, the sheet supporting surfaces are moved into the area of the delivery stack and thereby take over the printed sheets from the sheet separating devices.
- The sheet separators are withdrawn when the sheet wings are completely retracted so that the accumulated printed sheets are then deposited on the sheet wings.
The aim of the invention is to improve the process of replacing a stack of sheets on a sheet delivery.
The object of the invention is to improve the method of changing the stack on a sheet delivery in such a way that the method is both safer and can be used for a larger area with regard to the quality of printing materials.
The object is achieved according to the features of the characterizing part of
An essential advantage of the invention can be seen that the proposed stack changing device can also be used to process papers of poor quality, ie thinner papers. The generation of waste is avoided.
The sequence is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment. The process is shown schematically in the figures.

Weiterhin sind mit dem Bogenausleger Steuerungseinrichtungen verbunden, die den Ablauf der Bewegungen der beschriebenen Bogentrennvorrichtungen 2, 3, Bogentragflächen 4, 5 und Hauptstapelhubwerk untereinander steuern.1 shows a stack changing device on a sheet delivery of a sheet printing machine with the facilities required for a so-called non-stop operation. Here, the sheet delivery is only partially shown here with an endless chain conveyor system, also not shown, and a Main stack elevator provided so that printed sheets D can be conveyed from the printing units of the sheet printing machine to the sheet delivery, released above a stacking area S and stored. For this purpose, the printed sheets D are braked and placed freely on a
In Fig. 1 the initial state of the
During the downward movement of the
It is shown that two printed sheets D have now been deposited on the
Fig. 4 zeigt den vierten Schritt des Stapelwechselvorgangs. In the meantime, further printed sheets have been deposited on the
After the
Spätestens in diesem Zustand kann sofort der Bogenstapel 1 ganz abgesenkt werden.6 shows the end position of the phase of auxiliary stack formation during the stack change process. After the sheet support surfaces 2, 3 are completely retracted from both sides, the printed sheets D of the
After lowering from the position at the stacking area S, the
The method is supplemented by a corresponding control of the known device for accomplishing the stack change. The arrangement of the elements can be seen in FIGS. 1 to 6. The assignment of the movement sequences between the
Another
To control position H2, a signal for a travel path for the main stacking hoist can also be derived, which has to be traversed after reaching position H1 until the downward movement is stopped. The
Finally, a
In particular in FIG. 8, however, a top view of the stacking area S shows how the sheet support surfaces 2, 3 move relative to the
It is also essential that the
The takeover of the
