Definitions
- the invention relates to a clasp for a bracelet of the folding clasp type comprising a base blade on which is capable of being folded back at least one first pivoting blade, said blades being attached together by one of their ends by means of a first articulation, these blades comprising a notch device allowing them to hang on one another in the closed position.
- Document CH-A-353 567 shows a clasp comprising two metal blades connected by a hinge. One of these blades has a longitudinal slot and two studs and the other has an opening in which the studs can engage.
- the document CH-A-671 499 describes two elements of a deployable clasp, hinged to one another. One of the elements comprises an attached plastic part which is elastically deformable. This part engages in a rectangular opening made in the other element, with the edges of which it cooperates in a friction or notch engagement.
- the present invention proposes replacing the opening made in one of the blades by a second elastic element cooperating with the first located on the other blade.
- the notch device of the invention is characterized in that it comprises a first tongue emerging from the base blade and a second tongue emerging from the first pivoting blade, said first and second tongues being back to back and head to tail to block said blades when they are in the closed position.
- the clasp has, according to the first embodiment, a base blade 1 on which is likely to fall back at least one first pivoting blade 2.
- Blades 1 and 2 are attached together by one of their ends to the by means of a first articulation 3.
- These blades comprise a notch device which is the main object of the present invention and which allows them to hang on one another in the closed position. This device will now be described in detail.
- the notch device comprises a first tongue 4 which emerges from the base blade 1 and a second tongue 5 which emerges from the first pivoting blade 2.
- the first and second tongues 4 and 5 are presented back to back and back to back when the clasp is locked in the closed position. It is observed, in particular in FIG. 3, that the head of the tongue 4 adjoins the root of the tongue 5 and that, in a similar manner, the head of the tongue 5 adjoins the root of the tongue 4, these tongues being supported one against the other by their respective backs.
- it is not only a tongue which hooks into an opening, as is the case of the clasps cited in the prior documents, but two tongues which notch one on the other.
- Figures 1 to 3 also show that the tongues 4 and 5 are each provided with an attack bevel referenced respectively 20 and 21. These bevels are arranged and dimensioned to allow a smooth sliding of a tongue on the other at the time of the closure, which first ensures a progressive snap-in, then a maximum tension in the closed position of the two blades. It will also be mentioned that the blades 1 and 2 can each come from, respectively, strip profiles which are cut to the desired width, which avoids costly machining.
- the first and second tongues 4 and 5 can be made entirely of materials respectively constituting the base blade 1 and the first pivoting blade 2, said tongues being lifted from said materials. Cutting and stamping methods will be used for this.
- the clasp may however have a second pivoting blade 6 attached to the base blade 1 by a second hinge 7.
- first strand of the bracelet (not shown) is attached to the hinges 16 making part of the first pivoting blade 2 and the second strand of the bracelet (also not shown) is attached to hinges 17 forming part of the second pivoting blade 6.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a clasp for a bracelet of the folding clasp type comprising a base blade on which is capable of being folded back at least one first pivoting blade, said blades being attached together by one of their ends by means of a first articulation, these blades comprising a notch device allowing them to hang on one another in the closed position.
It is known to keep two blades of a folding clasp closed by a notch device. Document CH-A-353 567 shows a clasp comprising two metal blades connected by a hinge. One of these blades has a longitudinal slot and two studs and the other has an opening in which the studs can engage. Similarly, the document CH-A-671 499 describes two elements of a deployable clasp, hinged to one another. One of the elements comprises an attached plastic part which is elastically deformable. This part engages in a rectangular opening made in the other element, with the edges of which it cooperates in a friction or notch engagement.
In all of these examples and in all the others known to the applicant, there is cooperation between an opening made in a first blade and an elastic element forming part of a second blade. These retaining devices are satisfactory when they are new, but lose their effectiveness as they age. There is particularly wear on the opening. Indeed the latter is not elastic and therefore wears instead of bending or deforming elastically. This results in a lack of reliability and insecurity in the more or less long term as to the closure of the bracelet.
To overcome this drawback, the present invention proposes replacing the opening made in one of the blades by a second elastic element cooperating with the first located on the other blade. Thus the notch device of the invention is characterized in that it comprises a first tongue emerging from the base blade and a second tongue emerging from the first pivoting blade, said first and second tongues being back to back and head to tail to block said blades when they are in the closed position.
- FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the clasp of the invention according to a first embodiment, the clasp being presented in the open position,
- FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the clasp of FIG. 1, this clasp being presented in the closed position,
- FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the clasp cut along line III-III of FIG. 2,
- FIG. 4 is a perspective view of the clasp of the invention according to a second embodiment, the clasp being presented for a part in the open position and for another part in the closed position,
- FIG. 5 is a longitudinal section in the clasp of FIG. 4, this clasp being presented in the closed position, and
- Figure 6 is a cross section in part of Figure 4, this part being shown in the closed position.
Referring now to Figures 1 to 3, the clasp has, according to the first embodiment, a
The notch device comprises a
Figures 1 to 3 also show that the
In the case where the clasp of the invention has only one
As shown in Figures 1 to 3, the clasp may however have a
The first solution is illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 3. In these figures, the closure device hooking the
The second solution is illustrated in FIGS. 4 to 6. As can be seen in these figures, the device for closure hooking the
It can be seen in these figures that the
The
The
In conclusion of the foregoing, the
