Abstract

659,267. Fastenings. GOODE, J. A. Aug. 13, 1949, No. 21102. [Class 44] [Also in Group VII] The bracelet or like fastening comprising links 11, 19 at the ends of the band, the link 11 having a rack of spaced recesses 12 and a slide 14 adapted to receive and grip the other link 19 releasably, is provided with a connecting link 24 pivoted at its ends to link 19 and slide 14 respectively, this connecting link having a spring tongue 26 for engaging the recesses 12 of the rack successively when link 11 is moved endwise relatively to the slide 14. In fastening the bracelet, link 24 is moved about the pivot pins 29 which engage tubular portions 23 thereon, until the links are in Z formation. In this position the inturned edges 16 of slide 14 grip the tubular edges 20 of link 19 and an end portion 27 of the of the tongue 26 enters one of the recesses 12 made in a single thickness of the link 11 which is formed of folded metal. To tighten the bracelet, a beaded edge 13 of link 11 is slid to the right, the tongue end 27 snap engaging the recesses 12 successively.
