Abstract

The envelope has two parallel fold grooves (10,11) for folding the flap (4). The back (9) of the envelope and the fold grooves are formed and positioned so that the closure flap, when folded along the first groove (10) rests on the inner surface of the front (8) of the envelope beside the back of the envelope. The part (15) of the flap covered with an adhesive layer (14) is coated with a separating agent (16). The closure flap when folded over the second fold-groove (11) rests with the entire layer of adhesive on the outside of the back of the envelope to which it sticks.

Description

The present invention relates to a rectangular one Envelope made up of a substantially rectangular Sapling.

Such an envelope is already known from US Pat. No. 4,915,288 known, in which the offspring two are completely straight, has parallel boundary edges parallel to one another, so that it just from a straight web of constant width by cutting, but without additional lateral shaping can be produced. With this sapling runs the essential part of the free edge of the flap form certain cutting edges complementary to the opposite Cutting edge, the latter the filling opening limit of the envelope is certain edge, so when Cutting a die cut from the paper web no waste arises, with the free edge of the flap through the aforementioned cutting edge and a short section each of the two lateral boundary edges is formed. To now the experts were of the opinion that they were in the process of Development into a result that can no longer be improved reached. When looking for further improvements that are on the production, distribution and use could affect this with a relatively small Change compared to the aforementioned envelopes can be achieved. The envelope of the type mentioned at the beginning The characteristic is sufficient to meet requirements of claim 1.

In the production of such envelopes, as in Envelope according to US Pat. No. 4,915,288, raw material on the one hand, that is Paper saved and, just as important today, it will avoided the generation of waste, which Production of the envelopes that are common today save for the disposal of this waste. At a particularly expedient process for the production of Cuttings of the aforementioned type are made from a straight line Paper web by cutting and subsequent separation in the longitudinal direction of the web two or more side by side Seedlings produced.

In addition, an envelope of this type can also be made improve that you put a self-adhesive closure on it, where only a part of the flap with is provided with a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive. Currently at Production of envelopes with self-adhesive seal the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer through a coated with a release agent Masking tape covered before the envelope was sealed must be removed. It is known per se that this Stripes have at least two disadvantages: on the one hand they cost money in manufacturing and applying on the other hand, the user of the envelope must dispose of the strip, which is more or less difficult for him depending on the circumstances makes. In a special embodiment of an envelope according to the present invention, these two disadvantages will now arise thereby avoided that this envelope to fold the Folding grooves that serve as a flap and parallel to one another has, wherein the rear of the envelope is formed and the fold grooves are arranged so that the closure flap then when it is wrapped around the first groove, next to the Back of the envelope on the inside of the front of the envelope that lies where the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape rests a release agent is coated while the closure flap then when it is wrapped around the second groove, with all the adhesive tape on the outside of the The back of the envelope rests and is liable there.

  • Exemplary embodiments according to the invention are described below with reference to the accompanying drawing. In the drawing shows
  • Figure 1 shows a die cut before it is folded into an envelope, and
  • FIG. 2 shows a double cutting before it is separated into the two parts.
The one shown in FIG. 1, designated as a whole by 1 The sapling became more constant from a paper web Width only by cutting, but without lateral shaping cut out. He therefore has two completely straight, mutually parallel lateral boundary edges 2 and 3 on. The essential part of the free edge of the closure flap 4 certain cutting edge 5 runs complementary to the opposite cutting edge 6, at which to limit the opening of the envelope certain edge. Because of this shape no possibility for the generation of waste. With that an envelope can be made, it takes usually a few more steps, namely the attachment of creasing and applying a layer of pressure sensitive adhesive. The envelope according to the invention requires three fold grooves, namely the fold groove 7, which the envelope front side 8 of delimits the rear of the envelope 9, and the two fold grooves 10 and 11, the fold groove 10 serving to open Envelope the flap 4 from the front 8 of the envelope, on the inner surface of which it rests, while at Close the envelope flap 4 around the fold groove 11 is folded so that it is outside on the back of the envelope 9 comes to rest. In a further processing step the adhesive is applied. For permanent connection the front 8 with the back 9 serve the two Adhesive strips 12 and 13, one each in the the lateral boundary edges 2 or 3 adjacent zone is appropriate. The serves to close the envelope the closure flap 4 attached pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 14. In addition to this PSA layer 14 has the die cut on the inner surface of the front, an area 15 that with a release agent 16 is coated. In manufacturing of an envelope according to the invention is now carried out as follows:

If the envelope is inside or outside or on both sides needs to be printed, that of a paper roll in constant Width of the paper web pulled off as desired, that is to say Demand, printed periodically, so that the distance between the beginning of the repetitive printing areas with the length of the die cut. Then the Places 15 the release agent 16 attached. Afterwards, in the case of window envelopes, the window openings cut out and closed with transparent material, as is known in itself. Then be the transverse grooves 7, 109 and 11 serving as fold grooves. This is followed by the separating cut through which the Separate seedlings without the formation of waste pieces and the cut edges 5 and 6 arise. How you can see from the drawing, the cutting edge runs at each of its two ends over a length of approx. 8 mm perpendicular to the lateral boundary edge 2 or 3. Then it shows one that continues at an obtuse angle Section on while on the essential part their length perpendicular to the lateral boundary edges 2/3 runs. Then on the individual cuts Adhesive strips 12 and 13 applied and it becomes the back of the envelope 9 folded around the fold groove 6 and on the front where it is pressed through the two adhesive strips 12 and 13 is held. Now 4 applied the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 14 and the flap around the Folding groove 10 swung over, so that the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer 14 to the point 15 provided with the release agent layer 16 Comes to lie on the inside of the front of the envelope, which means that Envelope is ready for use or ready for packaging.

From the above it is readily apparent that Always two layers of paper at all points when the envelope is ready for use lie on one another. So the envelope has everywhere the same thickness, this is different from the known ones Envelopes with side flaps, where in individual places in the Area of the flap up to five layers of paper on top of each other lie, which has the consequence that in a shipping or storage box a much smaller number conventional envelopes than can be accommodated with the envelopes according to the invention is possible. If such new envelope is needed, the documents can be opened without opening the closure flap. Afterwards the Flap opened and no longer around the fold groove 10 but around folded groove 11 so that it is on the outside on the back of the envelope 9 rests and by the usual pressing with her can be glued.

In the production of an envelope according to the invention the manner described above can take some manufacturing time save that you start from a paper web whose Width a multiple, for example twice the Envelope width corresponds, and double cuts from this paper web separates, as shown in Figure 2 and is designated as a whole by 21, and this then in the Longitudinal direction of the original paper web, i.e. through one Section along line 22 into two parts 23 and 24 separates from which everyone agrees with the cutting described above. Of course, in this way and Way envelopes not only in all standard sizes but also in produce any special size.
