Abstract

Each cup (2) is positioned upside down in a cleansing chamber (4) between two outer rotary brushes (8) and over a single inner brush (9) mounted centrally on a pivot arm (10). The rotation is effected by a motor and belt drive to a central pulley (15) on the shaft of the inner brush. Pivotal motion of the arm is produced by another pulley (20) and a crank (21). A to-and-fro movement lifts the cup on to the inner brush for spraying from two vertical nozzles (40) and a lateral nozzle.

Description

The invention relates to a cleaning device for reusable crockery, in particular for individual cups, with a cleaning chamber in which there are spray nozzles for the discharge of cleaning medium and means for positioning the cup within the cleaning chamber, at least one acting on the outside of the cup and outer brush pivotable in the circumferential direction of the cup and at least one rotating inner brush acting on the inside of the cup are provided and the device has a holding and lifting mechanism for feeding and putting the cup on the inner brush (s).
From US-A-3 866 265 a glass washing machine is known in which the glasses to be cleaned are introduced individually from above with the opening downwards into a housing, the glass with its peripheral wall between at least one inner brush and several outer brushes intervenes.
The brushes are located in the housing, which has an upper insertion opening for glasses to be cleaned. During the cleaning process, the glass itself forms an upper end of the insertion opening, but sealing, in particular also in the case of different diameters of glasses to be cleaned, is not possible and, accordingly, the escape of cleaning liquid cannot be prevented.
It is also necessary to hold the glass to be cleaned directly during the cleaning procedure and to move it downward, so that the user can come into contact with splashing water and possibly with the outer brushes.
Holding on is particularly necessary with narrow glasses, since they engage between the inner brush and middle brushes rotating in the same direction.
The middle, rotating but not rotating brushes are used to clean the inside of the glass for cleaning larger-diameter glasses, while outer brushes rotating around their own axis but not rotating are used for cleaning the outside of the glass. A large number of external brushes are required to act on the entire outer peripheral side of the glass.

Tableware cleaning devices are also already known, in which spray water, steam, cleaning brushes and air for drying are used as the cleaning medium. The problem with such cleaning devices is that, on the one hand, a very short cleaning time is desired, but on the other hand, despite this short, available time, thorough cleaning of the cup is required, even if beverage residues on the cup or the like have dried out and are difficult to remove.
However, these known cleaning devices do not show any concrete solutions to this problem.

The object of the present invention is a cleaning device of the type mentioned at the beginning, with the shortest time thorough cleaning of cups, mugs and the like Dishes are possible. Nevertheless, the energy and The need for cleaning agents should be as low as possible. In addition, a simple construction as well as easy handling and a convenient and quick insertion and removal of a cup to be cleaned to be possible.

To achieve this object, it is proposed according to the invention that the cleaning chamber has an upper closure cover which is in drive connection with the holding and lifting mechanism for positioning the cup in a lowered cleaning position and in a raised insertion and removal position, that for the pivoting movement of the outer brush (n) and the rotational movement of the inner brush, a common drive is provided, that the drive connection for the pivoting movement of the outer brush (s) has a crank mechanism or an eccentric drive, that the outer brush (s) can be pivoted at the ends of a pivot arm connected to the crank mechanism or the like and are rotatably mounted about their longitudinal axis and that the drive for the rotary movement of the outer brush (s) is (are) derived from the drive for the rotary movement of the inner brush. The drive connection between the closure lid and the holding and lifting mechanism enables simple handling, since the cup to be cleaned is automatically positioned downwards in the cleaning position when the lid is closed when the lid is closed.
The common drive for the swiveling movement and the rotational movement of the outer brush (s) and the rotational movement of the inner brush favors a simple and compact structure of the cleaning device, whereby advantages in terms of service life and operational safety result from the use of a crank mechanism or an eccentric drive.
The proposed arrangement of the cleaning brushes and their working movement with swiveling movement of the outer brushes with simultaneous rotation results in a direct mechanical action on the entire surface of the cup to be cleaned, so that in conjunction with a cleaning liquid, usually hot water with a little washing-up liquid, an intensive one in the shortest possible time and thorough cleaning is possible. Experiments have shown that a cleaning time of only 5 seconds is sufficient for perfect cleaning. This very short cleaning time inevitably results in a lower consumption of washing-up liquid and washing-up liquid and also a correspondingly lower energy requirement for heating the washing-up water.

According to a preferred embodiment, it is provided that two rotating outer brushes arranged approximately diametrically opposite the cup or the like are provided, which are preferably pivotable in opposite directions about the cup by a predeterminable pivoting angle. The swiveling movement of the outer brushes with simultaneous rotation results in a particularly thorough cleaning and loading of the entire circumferential side of the cup despite the use of only two outer brushes, with the edges and the bottom region or bottom edge region being acted on, since the brushes are correspondingly close to the cup are positioned and the bristles protrude radially inwards at the top and bottom of the cup. By using only two outer brushes, there is a correspondingly reduced effort.
The inside of the cup is also thoroughly cleaned, since, according to a further development of the invention, a rotating inner brush is provided which engages centrally in the cup, which in the operating state preferably points downward, and acts on the inside circumferentially. With its undeformed outer contour, this brush is slightly larger than the inside of the cup, so that thorough cleaning can be carried out in the shortest possible time, even if dried-on beverage or food residues have to be removed.
Additional embodiments of the invention are listed in the further subclaims. The invention with its essential details is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings.

The inner structure of the cleaning device 1 according to the invention can be clearly seen in the side views according to FIGS. 1 and 2. In the exemplary embodiment, it is designed as a so-called single-cup dishwasher and accordingly serves to clean individually supplied cups 2.
The cleaning device 1 essentially has a cleaning chamber 4 located in an outer housing 3, a drive device 5 and a hot water preparation 6.
Within the cleaning chamber 4 there is a holding and lifting mechanism 7 with which the cup 2 in the inserted position in FIG. 2 is positioned from this upper position into the cleaning position shown in FIG. 1 and from this again into the removal position corresponding to the inserted position (FIG. 2) can be.
In addition, in the cleaning chamber 4 there are external brushes 8 (see FIGS. 3 and 4) positioned to the side next to the cup 2 and an internal brush 9 which engages in the cup 2 pointing downwards. For the sake of clarity, the external brushes 8 are shown in the side views according to FIG 1 and 2 omitted.

In the exemplary embodiment, two outer brushes 8 are provided at the ends of a swivel arm 10 which is pivoted in the middle are pivoted and rotatably mounted. How good in Figure 3 recognizable, the outer brushes 8 with their bristle field above and press the cup in between on the side 2. The inner brush 9 is also centrally on the swivel arm 10 rotatably mounted and engages in cup 2 from below. The Rotational movements of the outer brushes 8 and the inner brushes 9 and the pivotal movement of the outer brushes 8 are on the Drive device 5 from a common drive motor 11 derived. 5 shows details of the drive device 5 recognizable. For the rotation of the outer brushes 8 and Inner brush 9 is a transmission of the rotational movement of the Motor shaft 12 via a pulley 13 and a belt 14 a central pulley 15, which is on the rotary shaft 16th the inner brush 9 is located. The rotational movement for the Outer brushes 8 move from the pulley 15 via a belt 17 on two outer pulleys 18 which are on the rotary shafts 19th the outer brushes 8 are attached, transferred.

In addition to the rotational movement, the outer brushes 8 also perform a counter-rotating swivel movement according to the double arrows Pf1 in FIGS. 4 and 5. For this purpose, a drive transmission from the motor shaft 12 takes place via a pulley 20 to a crank mechanism 21, in which the rotating rotary movement is converted into a reciprocating oscillating movement. This is transmitted to the swivel arm 10 via a belt 22.
As can be clearly seen in FIGS. 4 and 5, the outer brushes 8 are arranged approximately diametrically opposite one another and can each be pivoted in opposite directions to such an extent that practically the entire outside of the cup 2 is acted upon during a back and forth swiveling movement. In the exemplary embodiment, the connecting straight line between the two outer brushes 8 is provided offset somewhat parallel to the diameter of the cup or the cup support.

The holding and lifting mechanism 7 within the cleaning chamber 4 has a support 23 for the cup rim pointing downwards, this support having an annular body 24 with three support webs 25 (FIG. 4). The inner brush 9 engages through this ring body 24 and into the cup. The cup support 23 is connected to a lifting slide 27 mounted on a guide 26 (FIGS. 1 and 2), with which the cup 2 resting on the support 23 moves between the insertion and removal position (FIG. 2) and the cleaning position (FIG. 1) can be positioned here. The lifting slide 27 is connected via a Bowden cable 28 to a pivotable closure cover 29. In the pivot bearing 30 of the closure cap 29, a pull lever 31 engages, the other end of which is connected to the Bowden cable 28.
On the inside, the closure lid 29 has a buffer-like hold-down device 32 for loading the bottom 33 of the cup 2 pointing downward.
If, after the insertion of a cup 2 to be cleaned (FIG. 2), the lid 29 is closed, the cup 2 is pushed down by the hold-down device 32 together with the lifting slide 27 into the cleaning position of the cup 2 with the lid 29 fully closed. After the cleaning process, the cover 29 can be swung open on its handle 34, the cup 2 being lifted upwards into the removal position by the drive transmission from the cover 29 via the pull lever 31 and the Bowden cable 28 to the lifting slide 27 and then correspondingly easily removable is. This mechanism enables a cup to be cleaned to be inserted and removed quickly and easily.
Instead of the Bowden cable 28, a permanent restoring force can be provided in the holding and lifting mechanism 7, preferably by a restoring spring. As a result, the cup is positioned in the raised insertion and removal position when the closure lid 29 is open. When the lid is closed, the buffer-like hold-down device 32 acts on the bottom of the downward-facing cup 2 and presses it against the restoring force in the lowered cleaning position.
In order to prevent the cup 2 from rotating when it is loaded by the brushes, its handle 35 engages in a slot running along the stroke path between two guide rails 36.

Hot water serves as the cleaning liquid, to which a cleaning agent or detergent can be added if necessary. The hot water is supplied to spray nozzles via a water heater 37 and a feed line 38 in which a valve 39 is located. In the exemplary embodiment, two spray nozzles 40 positioned upward in the area of the inner brush 9 and a spray nozzle 41 directed laterally onto the cup are provided.
On the underside of the cleaning chamber 4 there is also an outlet 42 through which the cleaning water can be discharged.
